LOVE THIS PLACE. The ladies are ALWAYS so nice to me. They are patient with me too as I am brand new to wine. They give great advice. The best part in my opinion is that my boyfriend and I can come here and he can go to the whiskey and beer isle while I shop for a great bottle of wine. Better than specs 100%!

When I first heard about total wine, I went to the 410 and Nakoma location and let me just say that I was impressed with how massive the inventory is. I came to this location in preparation of a New Year’s Eve party. It’s not all about wine, it has liquor and beer especially craft beer. I was also impressed with the information they had in their wine section. There wasn’t a lot of employees to help on a Monday night but we made our way to get our necessities. The prices here are super cheap compared to other locations like HEB, ect. They even sell the smaller liquor bottles in front. Specs doesn’t even do that. I highly recommend this place when it comes to buying alcohol.

I first learned of Total Wine while living in AZ. I was thrilled to see it move to TX!
I drive way out of my way to get here but the savings are well worth it. If you can find lower prices anywhere, please share! I’m not sure you can.
The staff are always helpful and know their stuff. I get wine and kegs here. I’m a Costco nut but even Costco’s prices don’t compare.
Caution! Go there on a Saturday and you might walk out buzzed. Think Costco sample stations only liqour!

This place is as good as the commercials claim to be. You walk in and they literally have every beer/​wine/​alcohol you can imagine, even the hard to find stuff. The staff is nice and all seem very knowledgeable as well. The wine i was looking for was, strangely enough, made by «San Antonio Winery», but it is made in California and has nothing to do with San Antonio, TX. I have tried to tell others about it as it is fairly good and my wife’s favorite but people are always confused as «there isn’t a winery in San Antonio with that name». Anyways, the girl a TW&M knew exactly what it was and took me right to it. She also have me a suggestion on a similar shine by the same winery and my wife liked it even more. Great place and huge selection, i go here often.

Total wine has been my go to supply to any party/​casual hangout. For starters, the sheer size of their inventory is impressive, and personally is the largest I have seen in the San Antonio area. The staff could not be more knowledgeable in all types of beer, liquor, wine and spirits. On top of that, the organization and presentation of all the items is quite strategic.
As previously mentioned, the inventory is massive! From high end Champagnes like the $ 500 Ace of Spades to the best Moscatos of Italy. Everything is categorized in a very unique manner. Displayed by Origin, Merlot or Sweet, to Whisky and Tequila. It is impossible to not find what you are looking for. Best of all, you will find a vast variety of things like classic Smirnoff to strawberry cheesecake infused Smirnoff. Total Wine embodies it’s first word «Total».
In my opinion, if you work in a mass inventory store you should have a general sense of knowledge of what you sell and the offers. The Total Wine employees are beyond knowledgable in their merchandise. On top of that, you can have a simple recommendation from them with just an idea of what you are looking for. For an example, if you are in search of a sweet red then San Antonio’s sweet red may be for you! Furthermore, if you wish to become a connoisseur Total Wine offers tasting classes at a price for you to become a seasoned specialist!
I will forever be a retuning customer to this venue, and I believe their standards will not faultier. As always, I hope to see you there!

I’m jealous. Mi esposa has been here a few times (holding out on me!). I only recently visited and was blown away in every regard. The store is spotless and very nicely laid out. The wine selection is AMAZING. You’ll find wine of every type and in every price range. The staff are helpful and friendly. We luckily stumbled in (but not out) for a free wine tasting: 6 in the front and 12 in the back. Wow! We took home several bottles to stock up. The cigar humidor is very nicely stocked with cigars that were fresh and smoked perfectly, beginning to end. Nearly every product has an expert rating to guide you. What more do you need? OUTSTANDING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

love TW&M! huge selection of wines and prices are reasonable. easy to get to off the fwy and plenty of parking. it’s towards the back (near vance jackson) of the shopping center next to target. we were asked if we needed help by a couple employees so that’s nice to know. we bought way too much including crown that’s cheaper than most places. will be back.

Not sure how I’ve let so many days and weeks go by without putting up an awesome review for this awesome store but let’s remedy that right NOW!!!
If you are ever in need for anything alcohol related to include but not limited to beer, wine, spirits, or champagane (Please read that in the voice of Zap Brannigan as it always should be) you need to bookmark this place in whatever GPS application you use.
The place is basically a warehouse of all things alcohol. Wines from all the producing continents of the Earth and beer from places outside America. They say variety is the spice of life and if so Total Wine and More has you covered with that and more. You won’t regret it.
The only negative about this place is that there is only one in San Antonio and that they won’t let me rent a room in the back cause I totally would.

OMG! Too many wines and spirits to even remember which ones I saw! They have wine from every part of the world. There spirits selection is huge. I saw every single type of vodka, cognac, tequila, and whisky that I have ever seen or heard about. I’m a whisky man myself; so I felt like a kid in a candy store when I saw they have everything I like. They have bottles ranging from $ 20 to $ 2,000 (so definitely, they can cater to every taste and budget). I also love beer and was impressed that they have almost every beer you can think of; domestic, imported, craft, micro, and local brews. This place has a huge selection of kegs too (perfect for my next party).

I came here to search for Blue Moon Glasses for my dad for fathers day. And they were in stock!!! I went to check out only to find out that the refuse to sell them to me. I am a minor but I was not here to buy alcohol. I went to buy glassware. For my dad. For fathers day… I didn’t see a noticeable sign in the front of the store that said no minors so I walked right in without being stopped. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a law about selling GLASSWARE to a minor. So needless to say I was VERY upset about this. They have a huge selection of alcoholic beverages but a VERY hostile environment. I was not breaking any laws and simply there to buy a gift for my amazing father who means the world to me but they treated me like a criminal. If you bring your children to this store be prepared for an employee to follow you around.

We first learned of Total Wine in Dallas several years ago. We found the pricing and selection on wines remarkable. Maybe two years ago they opened their first store in San Antonio at Loop 410 and San Pedro. We happily made the trek in from Bandera for wine, and then discovered the great pricing on spirits, at least the ones WE like. Then this past year they opened in the RIM, which cut our trek distance by a good 15 miles. Hooray! The stores are pretty much all laid out similarly, so if you’ve been in one, you’ll find your products easily in another store. We have told scads of friends about Total Wine, and they all agree the pricing is great (a gallon of Tito’s where I live is $ 36, and $ 27 at Total wine… worth the drive cuz that’s never all we buy). Check ‘em out & you’ll agree.

Really nice selection, but as a result, sometimes pretty unorganized (I’d call, they’d tell me they had something, then when i arrive they tell me it’s been gone for weeks). Some of the people in liquor and beer are really helpful and get 4 – 5 stars! But the people at the front desk — especially a middle aged man with dark pepper gray hair — are rude and couldn’t give a $%!@ less about you as a customer or helping at all. I feel like he might be a manager which is terrible.

There used to be an old Stop N Go radio jingle that went, «Beer Beer Beer, that’s the big deal! «…that’s my mental earworm every time I walk into Total Wine. Hops trump grapes, and Total Wine totally holds its own there, despite the name.
I absolutely *adore* the massive availability of single bottles — why would I want to obligate myself to 6 of the same beers, when there are so many different ones out there to try? The prices are great, and they actually had a decent stock of a newly-​released, hard-​to-​find bottle that pretty much everywhere else in town was out of, AND higher per-​customer limit on that beer (limit 2, while all other stores restrict you to 1).
There’s WiFi in the store — they make it sooo easy to wander around browsing and sampling, keeping up with social media at the same time.
Parking’s a bit of a clusterfluff here — right at the end of the Best Buy/​Target strip in The Rim.
And there’s zero local beer in the store. Hopefully that’s just a new-​store kink that will be worked out in time — it was the same situation at the original TW in Plaza del Norte at first, but now they have virtually every local brewery represented.
But that Mix 6 policy overcomes all… great store!

Total Wine and More is simply amazing. I first visited a store in Reno and could not believe the selection and prices. Now two locations in San Antonio and humiliates Gabriel’s and Spec’s on price. Only place with comparable prices is Costco. Come visit and see for yourself. You’ll never go anywhere else!
