Window World TX

By my nature I am a very demanding and finicky customer. But Window World far surpassed all of my expectations. They replaced 18 windows in my two-​story, four bedroom home. Exceptional quality, courtesy, immaculate cleanup… outstanding customer service. Based on my experience, they are a company that does what they say will do, for the price they agreed upon, and by when they said they would finish the job — truly a rarity in today’s world. I give my highest recommendation. Now, I hope to have them quote me on enclosing by screened-​in back porch.

I was only asking window world to do good on their mistake. Instead owner was rude and disrespectful. And again I say let the photos do the talking. Windows were for a tear down remodel and should have measured differently. That is why my windows did not fit. They
Were too small for opening.
Mr. Bomba does not have his facts straight. What happened was when we ordered the Windows the salesman was aware that the whole windows were to be removed and the whole house was to be gutted. He failed to take the correct measurement at that time. In fact he was there during the removal of the sheetrock and did not mention that there was a difference in the way the measurements should have been taken. We did inform the manager that the Windows had fallen out and he said that would not be a problem. But when the Windows finally arrived they were too small and they blamed us for the large opening. If they would have taken the correct measurements for a «rough in» on a gutted remodeled home. This would not have happened. We are to blame for our ignorance in not knowing the correct terminology. The manager should have informed us that since the old Windows fell out (on their own) that it would change the opening. Instead the Windows were small and we were charged extra to fur out Windows and as you can see in the photos, the window did have large gaps even after they furred out the openings. Mr. Bomba fails to take responsibility for his salesman mistake. It was only four Windows they needed to replace. You would think such a big company would do what is right and keep their two time customer happy. Instead we got insulted in our own home, Threatened by their attorneys and left with a mess. By this man who states he stands by his product. I just wish I could speak to the salesman that took measurements. I feel if they would have spoken to him they would understand that it was their error and not our contractor. We had a difficult time trying to get in touch with Mr. Bomba. And when we did the first words out of his mouth were, «Don’t think I am going to replace those Windows.» The Poor salesman is elderly and I do not wish him to loose his job, but he was aware that the Windows were to be removed. We left it to the professional. We were not aware that their was a difference in how measurements were to be taken until after the Windows arrived and were too small. Due to this, it caused reconstruction to the inside and outside opening of our home we had to have the Windows re-​framed due to large gaps that they left behind. Mr. Bomba said that the large gaps were there because the sheet rock goes in between studs and window frame. We were not satisfied with this explanation so we had other window installers evaluate the windows and they were shocked at the mess window world had done. See photos for yourself. It also caused my husband suffer health issues. That is why it’s taken over a year. We are not unreasonable people we just feel when you do a mistake you should own up to it. What a coincidence that when Mr. Bomba writes his first response, there are two outstanding reviews.

When it comes to broken windows, Window World is my first call. It’s nice to have a window company you can trust on call when there’s so many to choose from, especially when you’re taking care of a home for the first time.

We had the downstairs windows in our home replaced by Window World. They arrived when scheduled and the installations went as promised. Our energy bills saw an immediate decrease.
Basically, they’re an honest company who delivers on their promises. Bonus: They support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

It seems the owner is failing to take responsibility for his Salesman’s mistake. So again I say, «Buyer be Ware!!» Please read my remarks and become educated on how window s should be measured properly. Or you might end up like we did, having to pay more for their mistakes and an Owner that does not stand behind his product or service.

Definately recommend Window World Tx San Antonio. We wanted to replace old single pane casement windows in our 1930’s-built rock house. Salesman was great, sincere, not pushy. Came out to our remote home two times to make sure measurements were correct. The installation crew was careful, polite, cleaned up each day. Demo of old windows difficult due to old metal windows cemented into rock walls. Installed 14 sets sliding windows approx 4′ x 6.’ Did a super job! Our electricity bill cut almost in half! Highly recommend these guys and would use them again!

They estimated 4 – 8 weeks for the Window Install, it came in a week late at 9.
When calling about when the windows would come in they were uncaring and rude on the phone.
The crew was unprofessional, left dirt around the house and a battery pack for one the cordless drills. The windows are OK, but I haven’t seen any energy savings. In the window in the bathroom very small bugs get trapped and litter the bottom the window well.
Now, 2 years later, my wife and I were moving forward on adding onto the house, at this point I found out they never closed the permit! After calling them over 7 times over 4 weeks they have still been unable or unwilling to close the permit.
They claim that Window World of Austin is responsible, but in talking to the Austin office they explained that when they bought the business from WW of San Antonio they were responsible for closing all outstanding permits, and are the only ones capable of doing so since they opened it in the first place.
Overall it’s been a nightmare to deal with this company, they have horrible customer service, mediocre windows and manage to do it all with a complete lack of professionalism.
UPDATE: They also installed the wrong glass near my front door, so it doesn’t pass inspection!

This is a tentative review based on what little interaction I have had with this company so far. It is subject to update once I actually receive my windows.
So far, I am not terribly impressed with this company’s customer service. I placed my order in mid-​November, and here we are, mid-​February, and if it hadn’t been for me calling to find out where my windows are, I’d have figured they were just taking the payments and ignoring the order. I haven’t received ONE phone call from them to tell me there was any kind of delay, due to weather, zombie apocalypse, or whatever.
Come on. I only ordered 14 windows. 3 months? Is that normal? Not to mention, the weather here has been insanely cold (for South Texas) and because I still have my crappy old windows in, the cold air has been pouring in and my house feels like there might be ghosts standing in various areas close to the windows. (*shrug* I don’t know, they say that if you walk where a ghost is standing, you feel icy cold air.)
Anyhow, I will certainly update this once I get the windows installed. So stay tuned. Hopefully it’ll be better then.
3÷17÷14: update! Ok… once we finally got everything squared away… the install went QUICK, the windows are AWESOME. They didn’t leave any kind of mess at all, and so far I’ve only found about 3 tiny pieces of glass around the outside of the house. Well done! (updating rating to 4 stars — have to keep one star for the communication problems)

Window World has greatly improved the look and feel of my home. I recently updated my home with 10 high performance windows for around $ 4,000 (the best quote I got by far). The new windows actually fold down inside the house making it easy to clean the outside of the window from inside!
My salesman (Mike) was extremely professional during the buying process and allowed me to take a week to get back with him (I wanted to get more quotes of course). I will definitely recommend Window World to any of my friends looking to upgrade the windows in their home.
