What motel were the negative reviewers at???
This is worth 7 stars. For the price I paid, I got easily $ 50 more value.
Clean, VERY spacious, well maintained, comfortable, very nice and efficient receptionist. No breakfast but there is a 2-​story atrium in the middle of the motel between floors 2 and 3. Amazing for a 2-​star cost motel! Maybe suited for a convention crowd catered lunch or something.
The TV was not HD but I don’t expect that from anybody anywhere in this cost range. That’s the only gripe I had — maybe drops it from 7 stars to 6.
And FREE airport shuttle.
I think this was the single best motel value I’ve ever gotten at any price except in Reno at the Peppermill where they drop the price a little to encourage gambling.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and there were definitely pros and cons to this hotel. Don’t expect any stellar accommodations here. You’re getting what you paid for. The rooms could have definitely been a bit cleaner, but they weren’t the dirtiest rooms in the world. I would recommend wearing flip flops or slippers inside though. The beds were ok, but I did squirm during the nights and did my best to avoid touching the top blanket/​sheet every night. Also, I wasn’t exactly very comfortable sleeping on their pillows and pillow cases either. The bathroom wasn’t visibly dirty, but I didn’t sense it was the cleanest one either.
With all of that said, we did still sleep «comfortably» thru the nights and the neighborhood was pretty safe. The hotel is located on a major street, but the nights were quiet. They also provide cable TV for those who want some entertainment in the room. There’s a parking lot downstairs too, which can fit about 15 cars. The people at the front desk were accommodating when we asked questions so no complaints there either, however they did forget to give us towels when we asked for them.
I would recommend this hotel if anyone needs to stay for a night, but anything longer than that might get your skin crawling.

This place is ok but the service is atrocious if I could give a negative stars this place takes it. Rude front desk and staff.

The room was fairly nice to look at but the sheets on the bed were so rough I itched all night. I honestly feared there might be bed bugs as they were so uncomfortable. I had the worse night sleep but even more concerning was the bathroom. There was rust in the door frames and more alarming was we found black mold on the baseboards and ceiling. Very scary. Would not stay there again.

Horrible hotel, stay away. Only value is that its close to airport but it doesn’t even have its own shuttle service (they say they do but they share) and so you end up waiting forever to get picked up at the airport, and the ride to the airport is on an hourly sked, not when you need it.
I could go on but you will see the details in other reviews.

Wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you absolutely have too. Rooms are musty smelling and after awhile your clothes reaks of it too. Windows do help a bit but they only open 3.5 inches outward! Lame! Shuttles are rarely on time, had to wait at least 45 minutes to be pick up to and from the airport. Breakfast is horrid… don’t eat here. Walk 15 minutes to the BART San Bruno station and grab a nice brunch downtown. There is convenient parking but I wouldn’t recommend renting a car if you are primarily exploring in the city. Stay here if you will be super tired at night, need a place to shower/​crash, and won’t hear the planes coming down.
Won’t be staying here again.

Just a horrible place. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. They claim to be a small quaint place but it has a «f you, give us your money» type of vibe to it. As long as they’re getting their money, they could care less about you or your situation. Would give this place no stars if I could.

This hotel is very convenient for flying in and out of SFO airport. A three story building with entrance through the lobby only and covered interior free parking — the spaces are tight and a low ceiling — so it’s a no for some oversized SUVs and big trucks — my Cadillac fit fine but it was a snug space and I felt like ducking when I stood up. A nice atrium sitting area on the second floor was sunny and bright and a nice touch. Our room was large and spacious with high ceilings it appeared and felt clean and had a decent sized bathroom — included a microwave, mini fridge, work desk, flat screen and a sitting area with sofa — a fairly comfortable king bed. The windows actually opened which was nice to let in some fresh air. Nice black out curtains made it great for sleeping. You do hear planes coming and going but you are next to the airport.
Request a room off the main street for a quieter sleeping environment. Within walking distance of good Mexican food (Don Pico) about a block away. All in all this hotel met our needs and expectations. We will stay here again whenever we find ourselves flying in and out of SFO and needing overnight accommodations.

Had an early morning flight to sfo so I decided to stay here. I left at 4am so I didn’t have the continental breakfast, but they are cheep and they offer free shuttle service. The major problem I had is that they put a $ 50 hold on your credit card at check in saying it will be released when I check out however it will take 3 – 5 days for that to happen, which I didn’t find out until I did check out. Overall cheep hotel. So I’m not going to complain to much.

I was expecting better. Though we booked a room for 4, they only set us up with 2 towels, then when we asked for 2 more, they said they were waiting for delivery from the cleaners. The rooms are clean and spacious, though, with free Wi-​Fi and plenty of outlets to charge electronic devices. But for a family that likes a good breakfast, this place really sucks. The continental breakfast had the bare minimum to qualify for a breakfast. 2 kinds of cereal, milk, bananas, sliced bread for toast, one juice, packaged danish rolls, and percolator coffee. And on Sunday morning when you want to sleep in, its, «you snooze, you lose». Even though they advertise serving breakfast until 9:30, good luck on getting anything to eat or drink after 8:30 am. At least Starbucks is only two blocks away.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel for an extended stay. We were just looking for something reasonable since the last leg of our trip was work related.
Pros:
+ Conveniently located close to the airport (approximately 10 minutes away)
+ There appears to be shuttle service to/​from the airport (we rented a car so we didn’t partake in this)
+ Spacious room
+ Free WiFi
+ Fairly priced (I believe we paid $ 70/​night)
Cons:
— We arrived at 2:45 and check-​in was at 3PM. They wouldn’t allow us to check-​in although there were no other cars in the parking lot and asked us to come back.
— Very thin comforters, it would’ve been freezing in the room if we didn’t turn the heat on!
— Thin, uncomfortable pillows
— The traffic noise from El Camino Real was very loud from our 2^nd floor room
— Although the room was cleaned, our room was reeking of bleach after housekeeping cleaned it up
— We weren’t offered nor did we see any continental breakfast in the morning

Currently sat in the lobby having had my room double booked.
I don’t really know what I am waiting around for as the girl on the desk said ‘my manager is going to tell me what to do’. However, I do know that I am an inconvenience having had my room prepaid so they cannot just tell me to go away and figure it out myself.
I do know that the blame is on the internet and the internet should apologize to me, not the staff working here, who like to mutter to each other. Although, I did get that the cost of my room was higher than the rooms they are bargaining to relocate me to. Wonderful.
Be careful if you use a booking agent. It’s all their fault.
Update. Got in to a room! Some bugger is going to arrive and be relocated some unknown place. For that I apologize, but I have my room and it isn’t too bad! Clean, fresh and pretty spacious! It’s good for one night and leaving early.
I paid $ 40 for 4 nights of parking, which I don’t think is too bad for the area and costs of other places…
Gave my keys in to the girl on reception, she just threw them in the drawer because she was on her cell. It was 6am so she was probably tired, which makes it ok.
Shuttle to the airport was super fast and free, trip to NYC was fantastic, and shuttle arrived with 15 minutes of landing (called hotel, they sent shuttle).
Getting my keys back was interesting. There was a guy checking in, who had been explained the security deposit ‘hold’ (as many other reviews have claimed). He handed over his card and was charged, but then told it would go back on to his card the moment he checked out. Eric, on the reception desk couldn’t really explain how or why, that was just what he was told. Poor guy. The guest was clearly angry and couldn’t get an answer as to why he was charged $ 50 and it wasn’t held, but how to get it back immediately. Perhaps he read reviews too…
Anyway, I finally got to ask for my keys, and here they are. Back of the drawer where they were thrown 5 days ago. I had filled out car information that should have been on an envelope with my keys inside, but who knows where that went!
This is 3 stars because–
My room was prepaid — no need for any of this ‘holding’ deposit.
They got me in to a room even with booking issue.
Room was clean and tidy and comfortable.
Shuttle was free and parking was cheap enough.
The whole operation is just odd!

Nice little room for the price. Seems as though the front desk ladies are surprised to see us every time we walk by.
Ask for a room that doesn’t face the street since traffic sounds are clearly heard and might disturb those of you with less robust sleeping abilities than myself (I train hard).
We were locked out of the front desk area for about 10 minutes while the front desk attendant attended to some business upstairs. If this should happen to you, I recommend amusing yourself with the nighttime service bell. It won’t help, but it’ll keep you busy.

A cheap option for a quick overnight stay when you have a late arrival or early flight out of SFO. Though close to the airport, the courtesy bus can take up to 25 minutes for pickup and stops at 3 other hotels before the Gateway Inn, so the trip was a lot longer than I anticipated.
Positives included the spacious room, a surprisingly comfortable (though the pillows were atrocious), and a quick walk to either Caltrain or BART. The main negative was the noise. Not only was the traffic on El Camino quite audible from our second floor room, but also the floors seemed to echo every step above us all night long. Our room was also directly outside the continental breakfast set-​up for a bonus noise factor.
Gateway Inn served its purpose for a short nights sleep near the airport after our 11pm arrival, but I wouldn’t consider it for a longer stay.

There are so many Negatives that outweight the few positives of this place… I would NEVER stay here again! With the all the postives that can be listed… even those are just scaled at an average ratting… maybe…and that’s being a bit generous!
POSITIVES to this place:
–Free Parking
–Free Wi-​fi
–Jet Jacuzzi Tub (this was the best feature of the hotel)
–seemed fairly clean (except there was a used/​open water bottle left in the fridge of our room… obviously room is not cleaned or checked very well)
NEGATIVES to this place:
–looked clean but obviously not by the water bottle comment above
-«complimentary breakfast included» was horrible. We had a selection of cereal: but no milk available; toast: but no butter; coffee: but no cream or sugar; pre packaged pastries and juice available in pitchers with minature paper cups… about the size of shot glasses!
–cleaning staff were rude!
* When we checked into our room, there was not a «privacy/​maid service door knob sign» available. And after our first night, the maid service knocked on our door in the morning, wanting to clean our room. She knocked twice, but because I was still in bed and couldnt get to the door fast enough, SHE LET HERSELF INTO OUR ROOM! Luckily, I had the security latch across our door so she wasnt allowed into our room and at that point obviously found out someone was still in the room. I yelled out, please wait, but apparently she did not hear me or something. but I found it very invasive! After her intrusion, she then knocked on our door a few minutes later and gave us a «privacy/​maid service door knob sign» for our room. You would think there would be one in every room but i guess not!
*I had requested late checkout because checkout is at 11:00AM and they said the best they could do was 11:30AM. That is neither here nor there but again, the maid service came by our room (knocked and waited this time until someone opened the door for her) around 11:10AM to clean and when we told her we had late checkout and would be leaving soon… she was very rude and grumpy and just rolled her eyes and grunted and walked away!
Because this hotel was priced moderately, we gave this hotel a try but because of our bad experience and impressions, I will never come back to this place again! WIth so many other hotel options out there… why would anyone come back to this place for rude service and inadequate features!

I called them for a reservation. They said they were a 3 block walk from San Bruno BART station; in fact they are over a mile away. I told them I’d be arriving late from San Fran on the BART. I gave them credit card info, got a conf # but when I walked in at 10pm after a long walk from the BART, they told me they had cancelled my reservation as I hadn’t checked in by 6pm. They told me it was my fault and didn’t even apologize. I ended up taking a cab to SFO and slept at the airport by a gate.
Very unprofessional and disorganized.

IF YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AND LIED TO… STAY HERE.
There was screaming all night long which I had o call 911 since no one was in the office and no staff available to help this poor girl.
Owner next day did not acknowledge or accommodate any discounts.
Rooms are outdated and they call stale danishes and cheerios continental breakfast.
There are too many better accommodations. Don’t waste your money on this one.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a place to stay overnight before an early morning flight: cheap, clean, safe, and even friendly staff to boot!
The vibe is outdated, but the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. It is the last stop on the courtesy airport shuttle, so you arrive at SFO in less than 10 minutes!

We were looking for a budget friendly hotel that had airport shuttle, wasn’t dirty, noisy or scary. This place fits the bill! We stayed in room 314. It was clean, spacious, the wifi screamed (compared to the last Ramada I stayed in).
It is on a busy road, so if you stayed on the street side of the building you might have some traffic noise. It is also near (easy peasy walk) the old town down town section of town. You have a variety of really great food to choose from. We ate at the Innya lake. It was beyond yummy!
The one negative with regards to the hotel was the elevator. It was not working 2 of the 6 times I used it. This seemed to be the norm. So if you have heavy bags or you are not a fan of the occasional stair work out you may want to request the first floor.
I guess it also has a free breakfast but I haven’t been to it.
