I see other great reviews here but was this the same Eddie I encountered last week? I stopped in to ask a few questions about getting my Honda checked out. I am not a car mechanic so I am sorry if I ask silly questions. It took several minutes for Eddie to even acknowledge me when I entered his business. I waited patiently until he decided to help me. He seems disinterested as I explained the Honda’s shifting problem. He offered to look at it for a $ 95 diagnostic fee, I asked if this fee would be deducted IF I had work done w his shop. He rudely said well, of course! I can’t assume this, I don’t know his business – this is why I asked?! He did not want to answer any of my questions and just kept saying to drop the car off for testing. I felt he was very very condescending to me and I will not give him my business. I hate dealing w car repairs and I hate dealing w men who are SO condescending to non mechanical women. I will take my money and my business elsewhere and I will tell MANY others to stay away from this rude establishment.

I dont write reviews very much but after my aging Mom took her car there a few times she made me promise to put something nice about those great transmission techs @SanBruno Transmission. If you want great service at a great price and treated great by there friendly staff this is the place for you –I only wish more companys were like these guys thanks for helping my Mom !

SAN BRUNO TRANSMISSIONS & AUTO REPAIR: $ 1850 + tax, 3yr or 36K, 3 day repair, car wash inside and out!!! They also added a part I needed at NO COST… Also replaced my seal which they only charged for the part and NO COST FOR LABOR!!! I will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this shop to all my friends and family. Ask for Eddie. THANK YOU EDDIE!!!

Stopped in to see after he was recommended by another mechanic. Eddie was very helpful/​patient/​professional and quickly helped me figure out what was wrong with my car.

The guy is rude and expensive I got a quote for 400.00 then four fifty and this guy wanted 750.00 first and last chance for San Bruno transmission and he even told me go south Jerk

Called around getting some quotes and the dude answering the phone is cocky and a rude a$$hole. Also charges more compared to other transmission places like Peninsula and B & B. Take your business somewhere else.

RECOMMENDATION:
I absolutely recommend this shop. (I don’t let anyone touch my car unless I’m familiar or can reference their work.)
ABOUT MY SITUATION:
I personally do the wear and tear maintenance on my 1999 Honda Accord coupe (from fluids to brake rotor replacement). Last month, when the original clutch plate finally wore out at 95K, I wasn’t sure where I was going to take my baby to get fixed. Fortunately my friend just had their transmission repaired by San Bruno Transmission and only had great things to say about the work, the cost, and the people.
ABOUT THE REPAIR AND EXPERIENCE:
So I went in and met with Eddie. He was very professional and friendly on the phone and in person. But my main concern was the quality of his shop’s work. I can now say that I am very glad I took my baby to Eddie. It’s like I have a brand new car! The repair to replace the clutch assembly and resurface the flywheel was done very timely (next business day) and priced very competitively and fair. He also had no problem showing me the old parts and didn’t try to pressure or con me into getting unnecessary work done.
ABOUT THE PEOPLE:
Eddie has a strong belief in word of mouth and earning your reputation. I wish there were more people with his work ethic and attitude. Thanks again Eddie!

First off. I didnt get my car repaired here. But I did get an estimate and they were the best priced rebuilt transmission place in the peninsula, by over a THOUSAND DOLLARS CHEAPER. Eddy is a great guy and even let me keep my car there a few weeks till I decided if I wanted to get it rebuilt or sell the car. I ended up finding a really good deal on a used transmission, so I did not need a rebuild… but if I needed a rebuild this would be my place to go.

Excellent Shop! I have had two transmissions rebuilt here. The first one was a referral for a 1966 Ford Mustang, with a 3 speed manual. It drives like new. So when the transmission went out on my 2000 Audi A6, I did not hesitate to call. There was an issue with the Audi shortly after re-​taking possession after the rebuild. I took the car to Audi and spent money and got no help, to 2 different Audi dealers. So I thought I would take it back to San Bruno Transmission to see if they could help, since the problem seemed slightly related to the transmission. To make a long story short, San Bruno Transmission persisted until the problem was resolved. They did not give up and turn me away after everyone else had. The owner of San Bruno Transmission gets the highest marks for Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction. I highly recommend them. They get the job done!
