OK heres and update to the Sears San Bruno! I don’t know if it’s just me, but this Sears win San Bruno continues to impress. I’ve been a big fan of the Sears Auto every since they lured me in with a $ 17.oo dollar oil change coupon! «yea no gimmicks $ 17.99 out the door, and I’ve been going back every since. The only complaint is that they are really slow when it comes to picking up and dropping off your car. There’s usually only one guy at the front desk and 2 lines, and they are lines let me tell you!!! Sometimes he gets help most of the time he don’t! They really have something here, the lines are crazy and the work is good and inexpensive. I hope sears management and corporate can see what they have going here and help it along cause it could be phenomenal, but as it is it’s great place to get light mechanical work on your car, nice mechanics, good hours, just long lines. I’m really loving this whole sears thing!!! Great job guys! I gave them a 5 stars because they work hard and it’s not the employees fault they have long lines! they treated everyone very nice even people I would have told to take a hike!!! GREAT JOB GUYS! GOOD JOB SEARS!!!

If you plan on a kitchen remodel I suggest avoiding Sears. The work was not only delayed by several months (promised completion by Thanksgiving; completed on Jan 4, 2016) but I am now battling them over the method of payment
1) Sears opened a Sears Credit card in my name without my approval, permission or request. They placed the charge on this new Sears Credit card and also charged my Citibank AAdvantage card.
2) Sears received my signed authorization for the deposit but did not received signed authorization for the remainder of the balance. They simply charged my account without my knowledge or approval.
3) Still trying to resolve the charges that were posted to the Sears account that I did not authorized. This is taking a lot of my time, time I do not have
Stay away from Sears. Their business unit cannot understand simple accounting

David Brown is a wonderful appliance salesperson and I have purchased appliances from him. However, I tried to call the store 2 days after my purchase, and no one answers in the appliance dept., and there is no human who answers the phone number for the store. It gets re-​routed to a central place. I spent one entire day last week trying to get through to the store. This is unacceptable customer service and now I can understand why Sears stores are closing.

Would’ve left zero stars. Gave one because my experience wasn’t as traumatizing as some of those below related to appliances! :)
Also, this review is for a
order shipped to this store. The review reflects my experience with the online purchase. The actual pick up process for the item deserved a higher rating.
Needed to buy a Christmas present for a family member, to be given on Christmas day as our tradition traditionally goes. Contemplated on ¹²⁄₁₇ when
showed guaranteed delivery of ¹²⁄₂₂. Looked again on ¹²⁄₁₈ when the guaranteed delivery jumped to ¹²⁄₂₄. Placed my order then, feeling confident that I would be able to pick the item up on Christmas Even, with enough time to wrap the present.
Note that this is a widely available item that tons of local and online retailers sold, at more or less the same price tag. I could have ordered from
as late as ¹²⁄₂₂ and had guaranteed shipping by ¹²⁄₂₄. I was in the mood to pick it up from a local store, hence
. I madly regret that decision now.
On Christmas Eve, I had not received a pick up notification so I looked into the UPS tracking. Estimated delivery was now ¹²⁄₃₀! Instead of shipping by plane, which retailers of all sorts were doing at this time of the year,
had used ultra-​slow ground shipping so the item hadn’t even left its origin state after two days. What good is a Christmas present a week late? I called the store, knowing that this was out of their control. The response given was that «we can’t contact the vendor because the phone number of this particular vendor is not listed.» Okay that makes sense… but wait the website said the item was «sold by Sears»!!! So this company is pulling a «I’m not responsible for their screw up» to itself? What the heck.
I reached out to @SearsCares on Twitter for support. Within minutes, they responded to my public tweet and asked for more information via DM. That’s cool. Well, until they proceeded to ignore my DM (plus two follow up inquiries) for a whole week. They did not respond again until after after DM, another public tweet, and a public message on FB. Even then, the response was as helpful as «your shipment is on its way». Thanks a lot. Sears really showed the world how much it cared.
In the end, I got what I bought on 12/​31, a whole week after the guaranteed delivery, and a day after the revised delivery estimate. I complained to @SearsCares about it missing the deadline, to which they said that all delivery dates are estimates and not guaranteed. I argued that the wording «Sold by Sears; Arrives by 12÷24» on
implied a guarantee, and they stopped responding to me again.
I am generally understanding of the challenges in the shipping business, and are okay with slightly missed targets. However, in this case,
went out of its way to deceive customers about its abilities to fulfill Christmas needs, and when things fell through nobody in the customer service felt the need to even acknowledge this being Sears’s responsibility. I am extremely disappointed.

Appliance sales sucks no service I don’t need to beg you to sell me appliance keep all the appliances to Sears.6 sales persons on the floor no one attempt to ask how can I help you today the only thing I see they were doing chit chat and eating chocolate. Also sitting on the center table using computer. No wonder why no business. No leadership and manager not doing their job

Sears kitchen electronic department has no customer service at all. Went in today looking at dish washers. One other customer was being helped and six others associates were just standing around together talking to each other. For the ten minutes I was there I couldn’t get any help. Wth Ridiculous!

We had purchased a washing machine and a dryer, the salesperson was very friendly and helpful, the delivery was on time. Here’s the problem, the washing machine broke down after two weeks, we call for service, they said the service man will be out there within three weeks. I said what three weeks to repair a brand-​new $ 500 washing machine. She said well if you purchased our extended warranty plan we could get out there in one week. I don’t like that because we didn’t take the extended plan, and were using our factory warranty we won’t get our machine fixed for a month. I have purchased items from other stores, and when they break down, factory warranty repair was there within a few days. So I decided not to do any more business with Sears and go back to the other store which I did business with in the past. The sad part is we have a brand-​new washing machine in our house and we had to go to the laundromat for three weeks. It’s just not us a friend of ours had bought a dishwasher that broke and she had to wait over 3 ½ weeks for Sears service.

I went in knowing exactly what dishwasher model I wanted and it still took almost 3 hours to order it. There computer kept not working — and the incompetent person I was working with never seemed to have used them before — and at every step had to go find someone to help — while leaving my credit card sitting on the table unattended each time.
They canceled my installation and no one could figure out why — which I only found out after several calls trying to figure out why they never called for an installation date. After hours on the phone with 4 different offices I just wanted my money back. The store itself won’t pick up the phone (from me OR any other there other departments.) Of course no one could cancel the order except the department which doesn’t answer the phone.
Called the tools department and they walked to appliances for me! (took 10 calls to various departments before ANYone picked up the phone.) Got disconnected and after 5 more calls has tools walk up again. They tell me they have had a broken phone system for 6 months!
Ended up ordering it at the same price, over the phone in 20 minutes from Cherins. Pleasant, easy, local.

If i can give u a negative 5 star i would… Sears… We just bought a stove. I have no issue with the store and the associate i worked with. But my issue is with the delivery service. I gave them the right address to where they have to deliver. The driver did not input it correctly in his GPS. So he was 15 – 20 minutes away from us. Mind u that its the day after thanksgiving, i have family in town, and its «Black Friday». I scheduled a delivery for early morning. 8−10a. The driver has the“Balls” to try to tell my wife it was her fault. And when we call Sears they tell us the driver has other deliveries. And if he has time he will deliver it to us. If he cant we can reschedule. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! I am without a damn stove. With family in town. I would love to meet this sorry ass delivery driver and show him how to use a GPS. No longer going to Sears

, but I guess they share customer service and sub contractors, so I believe it could apply to all Sears purchasing. ZERO stars does not exist so I will give it one star.
My Ikea dishwasher had degrading performance to the point it was useless so I decided to buy a hi end Bosch dishwasher (800 series, $ 1299 list price). We had a big diner party on Saturday Nov 7 and ordered mine online on
on Nov 3 because it stated installation and delivery on Nov 7 on the website and thought Sears was a good brand to be trusted…
After ordering Nov 3, the next day my wife receives a call from the Sears installer that they are coming Nov 10. So I call customer service Nov 5^th to complain that the website stated during partings and still states (in my online account) Nov 7 delivery. After being bounced between 3 1 – 800 numbers and 45 minutes on the phone, a customer service representative from delivery confirms that it will be delivered and installed in my house November 7. Great! I say what time? They say «they will call you on the 6^th to let you know»…OK.
Nov 7^th 8AM still no news. So, I call customer service again. Same story. But then I say. you know this is today? They still confirm. So I call back, thinking I would get someone that would actually know… And I do. A more knowledgeable service representative tells me that the delivery to THIER warehouse is Nov 7, but the installer has scheduled to come install Nov 10. I ask if it can be changed and if they would be sending staff to do the dishwashing after my dinner Party otherwise :) …I get offered a $ 100 gift certificate which I refuse stating that I would in any case not pay for this install service since Sears lied about the date twice to me. I also got offered the phone number of the actual installer (a contracted external company), who said that sears, com always does that, but basically could not change their busy schedule for me… Sears never coordinate with their installer to let their customer know when they actually come… In 2015 you would think they could share calendars? but not…
So…finally comes Nov 10 after much hand dish washing… We were at work so a friend hosts the installer who installs a dishwasher with a clear large bump on the front of the stainless steel door…
So… I call customer service to exchange… They tell me they will deal with it and propose a free exchange shortly… So the next day I get a call that I will get a new dishwasher… December 12!!! More than a month later.
I get a manager on the line and complain, at which point he offers again a $ 50 gift certificate… At which point I basically say that I have had enough, and basically cancel the whole order, after he tries to buy me with another $ 50 gift certificate…
But the story does not stop… I get a phone call the next day that they are coming to pick up the damaged dishwasher Dec 5… Almost a moth away… At this point I responded to a service survey email that I got from them, voicing my outrage with the situation. I guess they listened and issued an immediate refund (otherwise would have to wait for them to pick up).
I was traveling in Europe and called Cherin (who installed some prior appliances for us) in San Francisco. In literally 5 minutes we had scheduled an installer 3 days later, got the extended warranty sorted out… all that for $ 100 less than
!
Sure enough Cherin came exactly on time, the installer was competent, and moved the
dishwasher to my basement.
And the cherry on the cake… when he removed the
installed dishwasher, the installer found that:
— It was not correctly secured with a bracket designed to attenuate noise (one big features of the Bosch dishwasher)
— 6 screws were missing from the back
— The Dishwasher was used (food was found in the pipe) while WE NEVER used it… So it was a used unit!!!
Believe me, you do not want to buy form
. They are disorganized, dishonest. I can only praise little Cherin who is a local San Francisco store, has qualified sales, great service and lower prices…
You have been warned :)

So today, Friday, drove down to see my mom and we went into Sears to get a refund for a part we returned and the install that was not performed on the gas dryer mom had purchased a week ago… a few things I noticed going into the Sears… they do have low prices on the clothing that was on sale for 50% off… (the positive) Not why we went to Sears but wanted to say something nice… oh but wait… walked with my mom to the escalator and It was not working… so up the escalator we went… step by step… when we got to large appliances we waited for a while, killing time we were talking to an Sears employee and he stated the escalator has not working for over a week… oh my… my my… Sears what is going on… anyway we got a refund and left… see my post on 11−4−15 for the beginning of the adventure…

I have been here enough times to know that I primarily come here for jeans, button down shirts, or jackets.
There are always markdowns and clothing on clearance. The «sales» prices are just regular prices made to look like they have been reduced! The dress shirts here are fairly nice as are the dress pants and coats.
There has been some updating done on the 1^st floor of this location which is a nice improvement. There are more cashiers working as well which means the lines are expedited through quicker as well.
The selection of merchandise on the walls and shelves are always updated according to the season so if you are looking for summer stuff in fall you will be out of luck!!!
I am not too sure about the electronics sold here but the are usually on sale. If you are looking for a TV, washer or dryer, or oven then I would suggest coming here first and then going to Best Buy if you cannot find anything within your budget or to your liking.
This place really does making shopping easy but do not come here on a BLACK FRIDAY!!! The CHAOS and MADNESS of the bargain sales brings out the UGLY in customers which results in the destruction of all the racks!

This has been the worst buying experience of my life.
I bought a $ 1500 Kenmore refrigerator back in July. It lasted 45 days until it started leaking water profusely from the freezer door. The company sent a repairman to evaluate and he told me that the water hose in the door was cracked and had probably been broken during the initial delivery.
At first they told me they could get a replacement door in 6 weeks. My time slot came and went with no door delivered. Called them back and they said actually it’s backordered and would now take an additional 8 – 12 weeks.
At this point I insisted on a new refrigerator. New refrigerator comes a week later and the delivery man pulls me aside to show me a giant dent on the water compressor. He recommends I refuse the delivery and I did.
I call customer service again and I am told that now I have to drive back to the store to arrange for another fridge to be delivered because it’s now a store issue. I am also told that I can pick a different fridge at the store if I want to exchange it.
I drive to the store only to be told that I can’t exchange it for a different model because it’s outside the 30 day period and it would be too hard for the store and delivery to coordinate. I am told I can’t return the fridge because I didn’t buy the extended protection plan.
Sears suffers from an utter and complete lack of accountability. The salesmen blame the delivery people. The phone reps we call while I am in the store shift the responsibility back to the store. The manager tells me I would have to go back to the manufacturer to have them evaluate the fridge again. Not once did a single person even think to apologize for the inconveniences I have experienced. Finally, I give up and have them arrange for a redelivery of the same model and pray it arrives in one piece.
In short, don’t buy an appliance from Sears. I wouldn’t even buy a pair of socks from them now.

I bought a washer and dryer back in 2009.
The Sears sent its own delivery/​installation crew and I was very satisfied about the level of service.
I bought a washer and dryer again from them last month expecting the same level of service.
The washer and dryer got delivered in Sept. 1^st. but they are still sitting in my garage.
The Sears use a terrible outside vendor for delivery and installation.
On the day of delivery, my brand new house needed a plumbing work before the hook up.
They left the washer and dryer in my garage and told me they will be back for installation.
I scheduled for another appointment for installation which was canceled by the installation vendor on the day of appointment because their truck broke down.
I scheduled again for another installation which was today but they simply made no call and no show.
When I called Sears service number, the record showed they came to my house at 1:18pm which is impossible because I was waiting by the window looking over the street during the whole window visit time they gave us from 12pm-​2pm. Nobody called me either!
Getting a bad service is one thing but dealing with liers is worst.
The Sears really need to go out of business !

Sears really suxs now. some of there installation cost are ridiculous. Instore everone is to busy to help. ONline they don’t know crap about nothing. the girl says im in training… i say your fired! Many other people will install for cheaper.

If I could give 100 negative starts I would. I am currently on hold trying to get my refund for a dishwasher I purchase TWO MONTHS AGO.

They use a horrible outside vendor for delivery and haul away (PacWest) and the two do not communicate with each other so be prepared to make a bunch of useless phone calls. We ordered our dishwasher in person at the store, was told we would get a call from the installer to scheduled the date — which we did. He shows up and asks where is the dishwasher? He was supposed to have it! Waited another two weeks and went back and forth between the installer and Sears to figure out WHERE THE DISHWASHER WAS! We were going to cancel but figured we would give it one more chance — they came the next time and it didn’t fit (even though we went through the measurements when we bought it in the store!) Wth? so more phone calls (note, several times neither could even FIND my order!) I’ve wasted so much time and still — no dishwasher!
Oh — and after checking the receipt they overcharged me $ 20 so make sure to check that too!
UGH.
PS — just got off hold and still no answer about my refund!

My earlier review (1 star) focused on the problem with getting appliance delivery scheduled — cancelled delivery and late delivery. I’m amending my review and upgrading to three stars because once the delivery crew arrived, they were AMAZING. Really helpful, expert, and did a great job with a difficult install. So:
1) Sears appliance salespeople — great
2) delivery and install management and scheduling — horrible
3) actual installation experience — great
I still will think twice before going to sears again for a major appliance purchase, because the delivery hassles were really horrible. But I do want to give credit to the crews on the ground for doing a great job.

Showed up to buy a fridge — w. In 10 mins had it picked out. Checkout process too twice as long. But in and out in 30 Mins!!!
3 stars because the iPad my sales rep was using ran out of batteries just as we were finishing the sale so he had to redo my transaction on the old style computer system. Doubled my checkout time.

Had two coincidental situations recently bring cause for a telephone call and a visit to this store.
As a tyke, I remember Sears was our family’s shopping place (along with Get on Sloat) for school clothes and supplies, when they were at Geary and Masonic (now Target City and Best Buy). My recent shopping experiences with Sears were at their Ala Moans store.
Our home washing machine was not providing hot or warm water. Our Kenmore was bought here close to twenty years ago, proving its reliability over time. The phone receptionist was prompt and efficient in scheduling an appointment later that week. The serviceman arrived as scheduled and quickly gave me an estimate which met my budget. He replaced the eroded part and the machine had more water pressure than I remember.
My visit was prompted by a friend’s online purchase with Land’s End. Their return policy on the receipt gives the buyer the option of sending the goods back for credit or taking them to a Sears store. Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, the store was not busy and the Land’s End department was easily found. I was in and out of the store in about ten minutes.
Located in Tanforan Mall, this store has plenty of parking and is at the front left corner as you face the mall from El Camino. Good to know that this is still dependable and within twenty minutes from home.

People who provide service to the public should go to the appliance department and observe Raymond. His customer service skills exemplify what service used to be and is hard to find these days. He gets 10 stars!
If you need a new appliance, go see Raymond. From start to finish, you will not be disappointed. He is very low key. Customers get what they want and need. No sales pressure. Every detail is handled efficiently. It’s also nice that he is gracious and patient.
I did not bother shopping around to get a better deal. Believe it or not I got a pretty good day after Christmas sale price. I did good in all ways!
