Emily is the best!!! She did our wedding this past August in Julian, CA. We met with her in the Bay Area where she asked lots of questions about our wedding. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and felt like she «got it». Dusk photos were a MUST for me as well as capturing my hubby’s face as I came down the aisle, and she nailed it! She came down from the Bay area to San Diego for our wedding as well, and was on top of everything that day, super professional, and also just fun and lively which made us really comfortable in front of the camera. Her photos got our wedding featured on 100 layer cake!!! Which was a dream of mine! She even had our pics back to us super fast. Everything about our experience with Em was amazing! A few months after the wedding I did a boudoir shoot with Em as a Christmas gift for my hubby. I was a little nervous having never done anything like that before, but she made it super comfortable… plus it helped that she also did my Wedding photos. The photos are incredible and I am amazed at how she made them look so good even in such a plain and kinda shabby hotel room. I hope to have her do our year anniversary pics, baby pics, Christmas photos, ect… she is our photographer for life!!! I would highly recommend Gem Photo.

Emily is tremendous! I was referred to her by a friend of a friend and it worked out great.
We just received our newborn photos and I’m amazed by how she made the pictures look so good even though our home is being remodeled. Our baby looks adorable and we’ll be treasuring the photos for the rest of our lives.
She’s very nice and even pet friendly.

Em is truly a Gem. My fiancé and I were seeking out a photographer for our engagement photos and wedding photos (the wedding is coming up actually), and we started to feel a bit discouraged. Just when we thought there was no perfect fit for us, a friend recommended Gem Photo. With all other photographers, we felt as though we needed to impress them in order to be considered a possible client; Em does things different. She was the one doing the wooing, though it was completely unnecessary, she was an obvious fit from the start. Em invited us over to meet, but also break bread with her and her husband. They served us gluten-​free tacos (catered to my dietary needs even!) and libations, and we all got to know each other. It was a very special interaction with a wedding vendor.
As for our engagement photos, we could not be any more pleased with them, she did an amazing job capturing our story, and our personalities. My fiancé and I are known for being goofy in front of cameras, but Em made us comfortable and was able to capture the sweet moments in between the goofy ones. And maybe a few goofy ones just for fun.
We are so thrilled to have Em join us for our upcoming wedding day! We are confident she is going to rock it, just like the engagement photos.

Emily took my boudoir photos for me and I could not be happier with the results. This was my first time doing this kind of shoot and I was a little nervous. However, Emily made me feel so comfortable and I had a lot of fun. I highly recommend her as a photographer! She also took pictures for my good friend’s wedding and I was extremely impressed with how those turned out as well. Trust me, she is amazing! You won’t be disappointed.

Emily @ Gem Photo was by far the most beautiful blessing for our wedding. Emily arrived early to get a lay of the land and she shot some amazing photos of all the set-​up! Emily captured so many beautiful images — all the small things that so often go unnoticed! She also drove to the hotel to capture images of me before I met my soon to be husband at the alter… she not only took amazing pictures in the hotel, she took the time to stop and pray with me… what a gift! Once the ceremony began, Emily captured everything and everyone! One of the most amazing things is that she melted in to every situation — shots at the alter while taking our vows, toasts, praying before lunch, swinging in the tree, cutting the cake, kisses and more kisses with my new husband… and finally when we drove off! We can’t say enough wonderful things about Emily! She was so quick to reply when I contacted her too — also helpful, she included a link to her site to view her pictures and a clear&clean price quote which described all the services we would be paying for! It took us all of 5minutes to reply with a YES please ink us in for our wedding! Emily exceeded all our expectations — We were in tears when we received our wedding pictures from her — they were absolutely amazing! We can’t thank her enough for what she did — she captured the most special day of our lives! Five stars all around! From the bottom of our hearts… we thank you Emily! She is so amazing behind the lens… she has been blessed with an eye that not many people have!

I was referred to Emily through a mutual friend. She is fantastic! She took our engagement and wedding photos and has fantastic vision for stunning shots.
