Mambo Groovin’ Salsa Lessons

Really great class. Sandy brings great on2 salsa teaching to the south bay. Sandy is very particular about technique and is very strong on fundamentals. She has over 10 years of dancing experience and has a beautiful smooth style. Teaches afro cuban and pachanga too which is very important for salsa dancing.

I am so excited, I found a home with Sandy Chao’s dance company, «Mambo Groovin».This company is a high-​level, professional salsa company teaching on «2».
Sandy Chao specializes in Afro– Caribbean movement incorporating a variety of body isolations into her extensive warm-​up. With a background in classical and modern dance as well, Sandy gives you the basic fundamentals of posture, body alignment, technique and fluid body motion initiating from the core. Her knowledge of the mechanics of body movement is phenomenal. But most important is how she can convey that information to her students in a clear, specific manner which allows the student to correct themselves immediately. This is how all her students improve so quickly from the time they walk into the classroom.
John York assisting with Sandy is very musical and detailed when teaching the leaders part. An amazing, talented dancer himself, he is able to demonstrate the correct technique to all his students.
I feel very grateful to both Sandy and John for providing me with a dance company that I feel has everything I need and want from a company. Challenging technique, intricate partner work, a variety of dance styles, performance opportunities, a place to grow and most important — a sense of family.
