First, the Bay Area tech sector is on a hiring spree and there has been a surge in new wealth due to recent IPO’s as well as an uptick in share prices of many established corporations. That, combined with the normal, annual influx of potential home owners have created more buyers than available inventory and high demand has driven home prices up.
