FYI — Same pricing as WAGS HOTELS. Wags is $ 50/​Peninsula is $ 49 a night. They are not there on weekends or Sunday, so you cant pick up your dog Sunday night, and are forced to pay for boarding Sunday night. Also — the kennels are outdoors, so if it rains your dog will be wet.

We have taken our dogs to Peninsula Pet Resort many times and have been very pleased with their care. The staff interact with the dogs in a way that makes it clear to me they care for animals. We have boarded one of our dogs when he was on a daily medication and the staff administered that as prescribed. We typically board either 2 or 4 dogs, with them in kennels of two. When we asked that all four get their walks and playtime together that was done. I see some negative reviews from individuals so would like to point out that I would never allow my dogs to do group play with a set of unknown animals.
Yes, this facility is basic but it is clean, cost effective, and cares for the «customers».

Regarding some less than favorable reviews posted here, I hope that readers will take everything into consideration before making a decision. Sometimes animals will behave strangely when confined or when they get home, and it has nothing to do with the facility or the owners. Why would a business owner risk ruining a good reputation by mistreating an animal? My daughter told me that these people are GREAT and her cat is ALWAYS well cared for there over NUMEROUS visits.

I came across this place while looking for somewhere to board my cat for 4 weeks in December-​January. Quality care, affordable prices, and availability were key. Peninsula Pet Resort was up to the task and they did a great job. The employees had a nice demeanor with my cat (who hates being boarded, usually goes on a hunger strike, and can be pretty mean to strangers). She was put in a spacious area with a perch and room to move around. When I went to pick her up, she was calm and healthy. I would definitely recommend this business!

After throughly touring this facility in July & feeling satisfied that my pet would be well cared for I decided to board my 10yr cat for 10days. My first mistake when I picked her up was not to remove my cat from her carrier when she was brought out to the front desk. On the trip home my cat began to form at the mouth vomiting saliva & moaning like she was in pain. I called the facility to inquire if the cat had been previously ill. Kathy informed me that she had been fine that maybe the car ride was causing motion sickness. She was wrong! When we arrived at home & i picked her out of carrier my cat had been sprayed with some type if disinfectant. The odor was unbearable. I wiped her mouth & body & administered water. I believe that in their grooming of which I didn’t ask for the attendee sprayed the agent into my cat’s mouth. After awhile she stop vomiting. The spray odor stayed on her for several days. On the second day I noticed a piece of hair (2 inches) was missing from her tail. There was no injury to the tail but how could a cat loose a piece of hair that large by mistake. I’ll never board my cat there again. I recommend to those that to please make sure to examine your pet before leaving the facility

Took my dog here for a grooming. The groomer did a decent job on my dog as she gets a lot of burrs from hiking daily so I’m giving two stars for that. They didn’t clip her at all though so I basically paid $ 55 dollars for a shampoo and then had to buy clippers at Petsmart on the way home to finish the job. I probably would have been ok with that but the lady at the front desk was rude and condescending both when I dropped her off and when I picked her up. I actually preferred to leave and do it myself rather than have any type of discussion about it.
I meant to add this article for the rude lady at the front desk so I’m editing the review. They seemed very concerned about kennel cough. I could infer they’ve surely had an outbreak there in the past. She called it K9 cough and not kennel cough and corrected me twice rudely that it’s not called kennel cough. I have never heard it referred to as K9 cough. It’s Bordetella or better known as «Kennel cough» by most dog lovers and vets. If you google K9 cough then Kennel cough pops up, not K9 cough. Go figure. It’s a personal decision to vaccinate for this but I suppose if you leave your pet in a known area of infection with minimal ventilation inside it may be wise.

I am writing this review after just picking up my 2 dogs from boarding at this facility less than 30 minutes ago. I boarded my dogs here from 7÷29−8÷3 & I am so upset. My bulldog Mix coco has a small hole on the top of her head that is starting to heal and a big scab with a rash all under her armpit (I just took a photo & will try to attach it to my review if I can figure out how). My German shepherd mix Nina is drinking water non stop like she’s never been given water in her life & every time my family & I try to pet her head she flinches as if we are trying to hit her. I am so upset right now I will NEVER step foot into this facility again. After paying $ 525 & having my dogs treated this way there is nothing the owner or anyone can say or do to fix this. IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOGS DO NOT BOARD THEM HERE PLEASE!

Before boarding my dog, I did a drop-​in tour. I purposefully didn’t schedule my tour because I want to see what the real conditions are when one leaves their dog in their care (is feces being cleaned up timely? do dogs have water? is bedding clean?). It was at least 80 degrees on ⁷⁄₂₈ in the afternoon. The conditions were borderline animal abuse. The SPCA has better kennels. Dogs were roasting on hot concrete kennels with minimal shade. Some dogs lacked water in their bowls. I saw some of the staff walking around, and they appeared to be ex-​cons. There were three giant pit-​bulls being walked in a grassy area with a tiny 5lb Pom that was noticeably scared and petrified. I will NOT be boarding my doggie-​child at this place.

DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE!!! We boarded our dog at Peninsula Pet Resort and when we picked him up he had a five-​inch cut across his neck, many stitches, and a drain in his neck. (See attached photo.) He (@ 6 lbs) was bitten by a 20 lbs terrier that the employees at the facility clearly witnessed. I understand that dogs bite and we were perfectly fine when they first called us to tell us that our dog was at the vet getting a bite («knick») taken care of. They informed us that the occurrence happened 2 days prior to when they took our dog to the vet. Their claim is that they didn’t notice the severity of the bite due to all the fur that our dog had. In those 2 days (according to the vet, herself) an infection could have easily arisen and because of that they had to place a drain in his neck. They say they’ve been in the business for 28+ years so they should have noticed this right away and they’re not vets so why not send our dog to the vet to get the bite examined right away rather than letting him suffer in pain those 2+ days. It was clear negligence on their part. Yes, they agreed to pay for the vet bill, but only because we paid extra when we checked our dog in for pet insurance (if it was necessary to send our dog to the vet), but this is absurd. Our dog is like family. If your child came back like this after you left him/​her in the hands of a caretaker would you be satisfied? So after seeing our dog in this condition we requested our money back, which they refused to give back. My husband and I were completely taken aback. We couldn’t believe they wouldn’t refund our money after exhibiting clear neglect for our dog and returning him under the condition he was in. I discourage anyone who’s looking for a boarding facility from considering Peninsula Pet Resort.

I just want to update here, since it’s been awhile. I still bring my babe here for day care, long term stays, and grooming. They are top notch.

Great boarding for our cat. Roomy pens, more spacious upgrades if preferred. Extra charge for playtime and grooming, but valuable for longer trips.

We brought my pup here for a one night stay. Walking in there was the slight odor of urine, but the front looked very clean and the gentleman and woman at the front desk greeted us warmly. Once there she swopped up my pup and took him to get weighed. The way she handled him was gentle and experienced.
We asked to see the area our dog would be staying and were a little surprised at its similarity to some lower budget shelters. It is very much a traditional sort of kennel, with just the basic necessities. Small indoor space to sleep (bedding included) with a space attached that was in the open for doing their business. It was a little cold, but they were kind enough to put my pup near the heaters.
Another reviewer called it a no frills sort of place, and I agree. The set up was definitely enough of a departure from my dogs normal (slightly spoiled) life that I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I was very glad to have found Peninsula Pet Resort on a friend’s recommendation. The doggie play group was awesome for my hyper puppy. It not only exercised him and worked out his excess energy, it helped to socialize him with other dogs. The facilities are clean and well kept. The staff is very efficient and friendly.

We have never boarded our dogs before and we a little nervous. I got a referral from a friend to PPR and set up a tour. They were very friendly and eager to show me the facilities and their routine. I was very impressed with how they keep track of the dog’s activity, eating, activity and elimination. The dogs get two social hours per day if you choose that– or a private walk. My dogs now come home after a stay exhausted! We have now boarded our dogs at PPR twice and also left them once all day for social hour. All of their stays were extremely smooth with no issues– our pups came home happy and tired! Plus– the fees are very reasonable. They will give you a discount too if your two dogs stay in a kennel together! Definitely try it out!

WOW! This place is amazing. I found them online, since I’ll be going out of town I needed to find a place to board my little Marvin that would be affordable and provide activities to suit his needs. Marv is not exactly the easiest dog, he is deaf and a highly active breed. So we started day care to see if he would be a good fit and vice versa. The staff there are INCREDIBLE! They have worked with Marvin so that he is comfortable. He has a blast when he is there. Now, I don’t know what I would do without them. I’m not even the slightest bit worried about boarding him — well, just a little that he won’t want to go back to me because its more fun with Sam! Thank you so much — you all are the best!

We went here for a multi-​birthday dog party yesterday (Saturday) from 3−5pm. The first thing I noticed was that the place is away from the busy streets so you didn’t hear the traffic noise which was great. And the place was big! There were 3 – 4 sections of the play area for the dogs to run, and we only used 2 sections (we had about 25 – 30 dogs + 25 – 30 people). There is also like a patio area where tables and chairs were set up for the food we brought. The attendant was nice and polite, making sure there was lots of clean water for the dogs and that everything was going well.
The area we were using was outside, and they had canopies to provide shade from the sun. There were play structures and even tennis balls for the dogs to play with. The play area had artificial lawn and the patio had cement. They also have a bathroom inside (yay).
It was great to know this place offers their facility to events as well as boarding & grooming! Our party planners were trying to find some where that offered a gated, outdoor area because some of our dogs are kind of particular. We didn’t know at first, but it is kind of difficult to find such places! So thank you, Peninsula Pet Resort, for existing and accomodating such a big group. We will definitely use them again.

Peninsula Pet Resort hosted my little guys first birthday party and they had a blast. We celebrated 5 doggie birthdays so we had a good amount of dogs and people there. Upon arrival, we could see Sam and his team setting up the area with clean water bowls and chairs/​tables for the humans. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the play yard and given that the facility has plenty of dogs everyday, it had no odors. The layout of the area gives a good amount of space for both dogs and humans. There is a door between the human area and the dog area so bringing food was not a problem at our party.
Sam continuously checked on us and chatted with our group. He was more than helpful and professional.
I would definitely bring my pup here for boarding or daycare in the future when it’s convenient for us. The play space is large and the canopy area is perfect for rainy days.
Thank you Peninsula Pet Resort for allowing us to throw a pawsome pawty for our little pups. They all went home exhausted!

This place is amazing ! My friend hosted a dog birthday party here and I was impressed by the facilities and employees ! They have open dog runs with good quality astro turf that provide both sun and shade for the dogs and a few structures for the dogs to run on or play around. If I lived closer would definitely bring my pup here for daycare. The resort is also conveniently located off the freeway but in a quiet enough area that won’t disturb or stress out the dogs. The second area they opened up for the dogs had a stronger urine smell to it, which may be common for boarding facilities.

Let me say that Kathy was a dream to work with! Super responsive with all the communication and emails. They were easy to work with and SO NICE!!!
The Facility itself was clean and WAYYYY Bigger than anticipated. They have 4 separated yard to play in and 2 covered in a Canopy!
We got there and they prepped the area for us! SAM WAS AWESOME!!! He was so helpful and was always there when we needed him!!!
We had about 23 dogs and maybe 30 people come and there was enough room and play space for all of us.
They set up tables in the patio area so we could place our food and gave us access to the kitchen as well.
Everybody had a blast! They even prepped a doggie basket give away for us to raffle off to our guest. Our pups enjoyed the time there and were instantly knocked out!
Hopefully we’ll be able to come back but definitely a great place all around in our books!

I wrote a pretty bad review before, and had to remove it. That is why you don’t post when in a bad mood. My wife talked me into trying out PPR again this past week. We were in a bind and needed some place to take our dogs for a few days while we are moving. I am glad my wife convinced me of bringing the dogs in. When we got the dogs back, they were both CLEAN, and the little guy was given a nice haircut.
The dogs have been sleeping for 2 days now, so I know they were well taken care of and had plenty of time outside. I will certainly be bringing the dogs back in the near future.
