Leo is awesome!!! He figured out a way to open an antique dresser drawer without damaging anything. I highly recommend this company. My call was answered promptly, and Leo was at my house within an hour. Smart, friendly and solved my problem swiftly.

Leo was extremely helpful, prompt and friendly. I was in a jam and my landlord left me stranded. After I called, Leo showed up within 30 minutes and had the lock opened shortly after. Hopefully I never need a locksmith again, but if I do I know who to call.

Needed a locksmith last minute as the guy I had previously booked was flaky and couldn’t commit. Booking the job was seamless and he dispatched someone quick. The locksmith they sent was super friendly (Leo) and he was awesome! He definitely knows his craft and his work is clean and meticulous. Leo also made sure to pull me aside and tweek the locks so they work just right. I highly recommend them, especially if you’re in a pinch for time.

Good luck finding an OPEN 24 hour locksmith. It was Sunday night after an evening on Treasure Island, where my keys went missing from my bag.
I called every single number I could find for a locksmith, and after 1.5 hours finally got someone to answer their phone. I’m instantly relieved when they said they’d be there in 20 minutes to get me into my apartment.
Leo showed up within 30 minutes, had to use every trick in the book to get my super tricky lock open without damaging the door, and charged me a very reasonable fee.
I’m sold. This outfit is legit.

Just purchased a used car with only one key so bought two fobs/​keys online (only $ 40 for two instead of $ 100 for one at dealership) and went into San Carlos Lock to get both keys cut and one of them programmed (I was going to try to program the third key myself following internet directions). Dealership price for programming alone was $ 125 for one key and 1.5 hours. San Carlos Lock was a lot less expensive and only took 12 minutes plus they did the remote/​key programming for the third key at no cost using the directions on the internet so I didn’t have to figure it out. Yay! So nice to have a place to drive up to and a person to talk to.

I made an appointment and arrived on time. I got a call from the technician about 7 minutes after the appointment was scheduled to let me know that some key emergency had come up, and he couldn’t meet me for another couple hours. I’d just wasted a bunch of time and decided to take my business elsewhere.

140 bucks for cash over a five mins job on a weekday afternoon. 154 for credit card.
You can judge for yourself whether the price is fair. It was around 45minutes round trip to and from my place.
Was quoted 19+ and 35+ over the phone. Guy told me I heard wrongly and it should be 29+. So from a potential 65+ to 154 WOW.
Asked around and read up to found out that I was ripped off.

Be warned! The actual price is not the same as quoted over the phone on weekends. As some other users have noted below, I was quoted $ 60 over the phone, but eventually got charged $ 250! Locksmith reached on time and was able to unlock the door with some effort, but was disappointed about the exorbitant price.

Leo is very professional! I locked my key in the trunk, he arrived very quick. He managed to get my key out within 10 mins. No damage at all. Just like it’s never happened.

These people are AMAZING. Great customer service, best prices in town. its sunday night after the super bowl. I locked my keys in my van, called them up and they were out here in 15 minutes. Leo did a fast job opening my van. i would definitely recommend this place to everyone i know.

Ben and Leo were great. My front door jammed and we couldn’t get out except through the garage door. They understood the problem quickly and the estimate was fair. Happy with the job they did. I would highly recommend.

These guys are amazingly fast, courteous and go out of their way to make you happy with their work. Very trustworthy company and I highly recommend them if you need emergency vehicle key replacement.

Typical lock out locked my keys in the trunk of the car at the YMCA. Ben and Leo arrived promptly — 30 min earlier than Aaa dispatch anticipated arrival and had me back in my car in 30 min flat. I have a ’13 newer car and thought I was going to have to have the chip replaced. Courteous knowledgable Efficient and reasonably priced. I’m telling g everyone.

Freaking thieves. I got locked outside so I called these guys. They sent me some inexperienced person who didn’t really know what he was doing.
He told me that they’ll charge me $ 200 to pick one lock. On negotiations he agreed on $ 150. I didn’t check other locksmiths because I just wanted to get over with it.
But the best part is yet to come. He knew nothing about the lock. I told him to call his supervisor or a better person but instead he sent some pictures to him and he told him how to pick it over phone: O
And in the end he couldn’t pick it! I ended up paying $ 150 to get my lock drilled in.

I was initially hesitant about getting them to come, because it is a $ 15 fee just to check out the situation, and then another $ 35 or more to pick the lock. The «or more» bit scared me… But after calling around, it turns out that is the standard practice and I just had to trust fellow Unilocalers.
Ben came at the exact time the lady on the phone said he would. He was efficient and pleasant and we discussed a price. The lock was a super old one and stuck shut and when he couldn’t pick it, and took the drill out, I was afraid that was the ka-​Ching sound of the price going up. But he stuck to his word and I give him two thumbs up for that.
Fair and honest.
What’s the issue with paying cash? Business owners have to pay a fee to credit card companies so I’m happy to help them save that unnecessary cost.
I’m planning on going back to him to duplicate my keys.

I had an after hours issue of being locked out.
First place I found was this company on Unilocal.I read some reviews and wasn’t sure but I need help ASAP.
Spoke to the company who sent a locksmith within 20 minutes.
Locksmith was able to help within 15 minutes.
I initially had an issue with the price and was not happy until the owner called me the next morning and was able to give excellent customer service by agreeing to a fair price.
I highly recommend this company who had the upmost integrity and should I be in a future predicament, I know who I will call.

Here’s a tale of two locksmiths, and advice about how to save money if you need some locksmith work.
I needed to re-​key a lock, and didn’t want to pay a lot of money for a locksmith to come out to my place to do that. Instead, I thought that I could remove the lock from my door and take it into a locksmith and have him do the work at his shop while I waited. It turned out that it was actually quite easy to remove the locking mechanism from my door; it came right out after removing a couple of screws.
Then I called a couple of locksmiths to get an estimate for the work. The first place I called didn’t actually have a shop, just a mobile van. And they wouldn’t give me a quote over the phone. It was actually a simple task; I gave them all the specs (it’s a common Emtec lock); but they still wouldn’t give me a quote. Instead they wanted $ 40 just to come to my place and only then tell me how much the total job would cost. Nuts to that.
San Carlos Lock and Key was the next place I called, and I talked with Ben. Totally different approach. He gave me a firm and reasonable quote of $ 20 to do the work at his shop, and even agreed to give me a few spare keys for free. When I arrived, he was friendly, quick and efficient. He also gave me some valuable advice regarding another project, replacing some garage door openers.
Returning from the locksmith shop, I found that replacing the newly re-​keyed locking mechanism in my door took just a few minutes; and so I was happy I had decided to do it this way. I had considered doing it all myself, using a DIY re-​keying kit — but the kit itself costs $ 9 to $ 12; you have to make sure you get exactly the right kit; getting all the pins placed correctly might be tricky for a novice; and you still must have someone make extra keys if you need them. So I recommend this approach, taking your lock to a locksmith.
I also recommend Ben at San Carlos Lock and Key. He’s gotten some poor reviews recently on Unilocal: three one-​star reviews all written within a 3-​week period, all written by reviewers with few other reviews, and all written in the same, rather distinctive writing style. It smells phony to me, like someone has it in for him. The Ben I met yesterday gave first class service.
