My daughter just had her nose pierced by Sid and she was absolutely AMAZING! Top quality and service. Extremely clean and thorough. So grateful we found her and refer her in the highest regards!

This place is definitely 5 out of 5 stars. Shaun and Sid are always very friendly and welcoming as soon as you come through the door. They are beyond talented and invest so much time and special care into their clients to make sure they are able to exceed every expectation possible. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about tattoos and piercings, but they are 100% genuine and will always give you the most honest opinion possible. which is definitely a hard thing to come by in the tattoo industry considering most artists just want to make their money. I have been tattooed by both of them, and I’ve never had a single complaint. This will be my forever shop, and I will gladly recommend them to friends and family.

honestly this place is amazing. everything from their bathroom, their staff, their hospitality, their practice, their art. everything about this place is amazing.
my friend and I, three of us 18, one 19, showed up late on friday, we had just finished up at disneyland. I researched months for the pertect artist to do my tattoo, the cypher wheel from gravity falls, it was so much delicate lines, straight lines, I just couldnt stand to not have it perfect. I saw the owners, shawn, work of a pirate ship, I almost died from its beauty. I decided that id go there. we got there about 5, I gave shawn my art, and he told me that he wouldnt be able to do it. he had lots of work to do on another guy, and the tattoo had to much small detail for him. so he reffered me to sid. he also worked me to adjust the tattoo size, I wanted it large and wrapping around my arm, but it would have been difficult for the artist, I was sad to have it smaller, but the tattoo artists know best about what will work.
he asked for about an hour, to get it re stenciled, and for myself to go eat. we ate down the road at mr petes, which was also awesome. we came back, and one of my friends decided to get a nose peircing, and then another of us decided to get a tattoo, the one off us that was still in hs, had parents that would kill him for getting a tattoo, and he had no money. so of course, being the good, responsible friends we are, we all pitched in and got it for him. when it came time for mine, the four of us had already spent 2 and a half hours in the shop, hanging out talking and having a great time with the artists. we learned all about shawn and his relationships with disney and disneyland, and sid and how she grew up. my tattoo took about I think it was 3, hours… I dont remember, it all passed by so fast we were having a great time. my tattoo took longer than the shop was supposed to be open, shawn, sid, and their assistant tyler stayed until aboht 12:30, maybe 1 am doing my tattoo.
sid, lets talk about this bad ass awesome perfect amazing person. first off she is super sweet but is also tough and straight forward, shes funny, and so caring. I have dermitilomania, a form of ocd where I pick at my skin and I had just picked a huge scab on my forhead from nervousness, and she looked at it, and took out some tools and cleaned it up, numbed it, and it healed so nicely.
she told me about everything id need to know, described what it would feel like, asked me all about what the tattoo was about, she was super talkative and all 6 of us had such a great time.
she finished the tattoo and just looked at it for 10 minutes admiring it, while we all picked our favorite part. she loved the llama, the best one she did was the hand, all 6 fingers, my favorite is the pair of glasses.
my friends and I spent about 5 and a half hours in this shop, and it was the most fun we ever had, we loved these people, they were sweet, kind, awesome, fun, bad ass, responsible, safe, caring. I just cant describe how amazing they are. my tattoo healed perfect, no issues, it even healed early. I get compliments on it almost everyday.
they were also very I formative about payment and tipping, and explained how cash is better than charge becauss charge takes money away fro the artist. if I remember my tattoo was 400 maybe, and I left an 80 dollar tip… or maybe it was 400 with a 100 dollar tip, or maybe 500 with a 100 dollar tip. not sure, but which ever it was, it was so fairly priced considering the quality of the tattoo, the hospitality of the employees, and how above and beyond the expectation.
the only thing people need to know, is that these guys dont check Unilocal,in fact I had sent them an email on Unilocal,and I asked shaun about it and he said something like ‘yelp, man I never check Unilocal.I forgot we even had one.‘
along with everything, the ocean is like a 5 minute walk away. mr petes burger place is amazing, and the convenient store across the way has an atm.
this shop is so great, sid and shaun are the only artists I trust to tattoo my body, and after getting my belly button peirced here in sac, they are the only people I trust to modify my body. in a few months my friend who got her nose peirced is going to get her first tattoo, and ilk be going to get my belly button peircing checked out and possibly repeirced. if they did elf ears, id get them done there too!!!

I can’t say enough good about this place. I drive all the way down from RSM and Shaun and Sid are amazing to work with from start to finish. Super comfortable shop to.

I’ve been in a few time to have old piercings fixed up and jewelry switched out, and it’s a great place. It’s clean, the people are friendly, and Sid is awesome to work with. She’s very knowledgable and helpful, and she’s who I’ll go to first from now on!

One of the best places ever to get piercings or ink done. I got my nose pierced and it didn’t hurt at all. I am set to get a tattoo next week. The staff is so nice and friendly. And Sid was especially nice to me and make the experience fun. I liked her apprentice as well he was very good. It is also very clean and they staff knows what they are doing. I have been to a lot of places and this place is very welcoming and very open minded. There is no unwelcoming feeling or anything. They make you feel like a friend or part of the family. They have excellent prices and have a fantastic quality of work. Tell your friends this is the place to go! It’s San Clemente best shop! Thanks Sid, I love my sparkle!

Sid was amazing! I dropped in with my nephew for his 15^th birthday. He got a lip piercing and I got my bridge done. She was awesome and incredibly knowledgable. The entire staff was great! Love my piercing and loved how thorough Sid was! Go here, the tattoos looked great too:) cheers

I went to Distinctive Body Art today for two lip piercings. I have to say what a great experience I had there. Every member of the staff was welcoming. Sid did an amazing job on the piercings and making me feel comfortable, especially after my many negative piercing experiences from other studios. As well as she thoroughly explained what to expect and after care. I will definitely be returning here for any piercings I want in the future. Such a great atmosphere.

Just had the best experience at Distinctive Body Art Studio! Came in here after my nipple jewelry fell out with hopes of the hole still being open and some help to get it back in. It was half way closed, and I reluctantly decided to get it re done. Sid was so sweet and comforting, didn’t rush me and knew exactly what she was doing! It was over before I knew it and she was cleaning me up.
She also checked my septum hole (s) to see if that was still open and it was,
recommended me some jewelry and got that in with ease.
The other guys in the shop were cool too, made me feel welcomed right when I walked in.
You can’t beat the price for her knowledge, experience, and customer service. This spot is A-​1!

I got my nipples pierced here and the piercer was so friendly and really calmed my nerves

It was a great place to go for my first tattoo! Everyone was very nice and talkative. Also they really were interested in a tattoo that I was for sure that I wanted. Very patient while I was searching for what I really wanted. Also they did a great job on explaining what to do and what to prepare for. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and everyone that sees this review.

Man what can I say? Sid is awesome!!! She is always my go to when I have piercing emergencies or any questions regarding my piercings. She is very knowledgeable and always has recommendations for healing any issues with piercings. I always go to her because I know that I am getting the best advice. Everyone at the shop is super awesome and nice as well! They will keep getting my business again and again. Can’t say enough good things about them. Thanks a bunch Sid :)))

I cannot say enough nice things about a shop that opens for you on their day off. I dropped the back of the labret for my 3 month old conch piercing down the drain. After reading the great reviews on Unilocal I called and Sid answered the phone. She was so nice and told me she’d be there for a while and to come over. Fortunately I live very close by and was there quickly. She cleaned my piercing, inserted a new labret then was kind enough to share some tips on how to better care for my piercing. She was the epitome of professional. As someone in the customer service industry I am extremely appreciate of excellent service and this shop is just that. I tipped Sid for her help but wish I had tipped more! I will be back. THANK YOU SID.

The staff here are awesome, I called really late desperately looking for a clear retainer for my vertical medusa since I had just lost mine. These people stayed open for me and even made sure I was getting the right gauge (I wasn’t, white lotus didn’t check so no wonder I had trouble w the first one) AND were incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back A+ service

Amazing staff and top notch service. They were very clear and specific when it came to the aftercare of my friends piercing. They were very upfront and honest about there prices and were willing to work with my friend on his price range. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get some fresh ink or a new piercing! A+++

This place was awesome. I received 5% military discount, and I got an industrial piercing. The piercer was SUPER knowledgable and was so nice! Definitely coming back.

Hands down the best tattoo shop around. Blows any other shop I’ve been to out of the water. Shaun and Sid are very professional, very knowledgeable and will do whatever they can to make sure you’re walking out of there with exactly what you had in mind. Shaun always has an expert advice and suggestions to give for those with questions on their ideas and his artwork and tattoo capabilities are unmatched by anything I’ve seen around. The inside of the shop has great, clean atmosphere, with fantastic movie posters and artwork lining it from front to back. Definitely a recommendation for anyone in the area looking to get some work done.
