Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most fun and exciting sports out there! The majority of our students find it provides a stimulating environment that combines physical and mental challenges, discipline and joy in a way that not only helps them achieve greater physical fitness but also encourages them to lead a more balanced lifestyle.
History
Established in 2008.
The Gracie Barra School of San Clemente was founded in February 2008. Our school is the result of the efforts of Professors Flavio Almeida and Felipe Guedes.
We offer world-class level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for individuals, families, and Law Enforcement officials of South Orange County and a reference for fitness, character development, self-defense, martial art, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for the communities of San Clemente, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano.
The Gracie Barra San Clemente classes are aligned with the Gracie Barra Program Structure developed by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. to meet specific learning needs from people with different ages, gender and levels. Our clean, friendly, and progress oriented environment allows the students to have a challenging, inspirational, and warm learning and training experience that always make them feel like coming back.
Meet the Business Owner
Felipe Guedes and Flavio Almeida A.
Business Owner
Professor Flavio Almeida — 4th degree black belt
Flavio sees his life through Jiu-Jitsu. As a practitioner he believes we are challenged daily to improve to become better then we are now. The lessons he has learned in practice transcend the academy and allow him and his students to see life and its challenges from a very exciting and powerful perspective: «If we wrestle with challenges, we can overcome all the obstacles that lay between who we are and who we dream to be.»
Professor Felipe Guedes — Black Belt
Felipe was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil where he lived for 25 years with his parents and one younger brother. He was always fascinated by the ‘human machine’ in all its aspects. He always wanted to be involved in something that would give him the ability to help people. «BJJ is an essential part of my life, where I find happiness. It is where I learn how to fight inside and outside of the mat, it is where I test myself and my limits always trying to get better in everything I do.»
