Specialties

A fun & unique adventure where you’ll explore San Clemente & compete against other teams to see who has what it takes to solve a murder!

Sign up with your friends for events open to the public, and also available for private bookings: Corporate team building, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, etc.

Each team is given a list of suspects along with a packet of clues, twisted riddles and mind-​bending puzzles. Our clues will systematically lead you to explore Downtown San Clemente where you’ll eliminate suspects until you’ve discovered… Who Done It?

Using your wits and some creativity, each location will reveal another piece of your investigation.

Your team will compete against up to 6 other teams scattered throughout Downtown San Clemente, each leading their own separate investigation. The team that solves for the murderer needing the least help from headquarters wins!

The game lasts about 4 hours and will require traveling about 3 miles on foot.

Unlike most other scavenger hunt or clue based games, this course is designed for adults. It is likely too mentally challenging for most children under 12.

This scavenger hunt is awesome! It was incredibly well planned out, a really fun way to explore san clemente, and just the right amount of a challenge. The clues were definitely not easy to decode, but once you got it, it was really exciting. We had a mix of people in their 20’s and 60’s in our group, and it was doable for all. Alex was very well-​prepared and the whole event ran seamlessly. It lasted about 5 hours, but the time flew by while we were on the hunt. I would definitely recommend this as a fun activity for both visitors and OC locals who want a fun way to spend a Saturday. We can’t wait to try out the other cities this is hosted in!

I bought this experience for my family for Christmas and we had a BLAST! I can’t believe the amount of work that was put into this course, so much detail and thought. Alex has really got a great product. We did the San Clemente course and found it challenging but our minds were up for the challenge. We didn’t beat the record time but we did solve the case in just over 3 hours. Be prepared to walk a lot and even up a steep hill. But, the hill is leading away from a beautiful beach and pier so it’s worth it. I plan on doing the San Diego and Laguna ones soon.

This is a great group event! The puzzle is SUPER CREATIVE. I was so impressed that someone could put it together as well as they did. You get a binder with suspects and clues. Some clues just lead to other clues and some will eliminate suspects. Ultimately you will discover who the murderer is! We had 6 people in our group and solved the game in a decent amount of time. We probably would have been quicker if we walked faster, but we did take our time and just enjoyed it. The puzzles probably didn’t take more than 5 mins a piece to solve but they did get us thinking! The host was excellent. Highly recommend this scavenger hunt!

Had a really enjoyable time solving this scavenger hunt murder at a cousin’s surprise birthday party. This is a fun way to explore San Clemente, enjoy local sights, engage some thinking skills, and get some good walking in. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a exciting and fun way for some solid team-​building.

On one side its an impressive course with very detailed puzzles and clues. If you are someone that wants to go through an intensive process of multiple locations and detail, you will like this, you super sleuth. For you all, this will be a five star event.
For the rest of us, spending 4 ½ hours walking and grinding through many many clues to eliminate suspects is painful. One star.
This should be reduced to 50% of the hunt size, made easier and fun for 2 – 3 hours for those that want to have fun without wrenching our brains. I’m averaging this at 3 stars.

My husband surprised me with this amazing event and had my best friends assemble to be part of our team. It was a blast and as we are all competitive and enthusiastic puzzlers we thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery scavenger hunt. It was really neat to see the strengths of the different members of our team emerge.
I was smiling ear to ear the whole time and it was the fastest three and a half hours I can recall. Our team was too engaged in the competition to really appreciate the landmarks and scenery during the event, so if that is a big desire I recommend allowing more time before or after the game to mill around. We all agreed that we would do another one of Alex’s courses in laguna or San Diego and my best friend thought it would be a great team building exercise for her corporation.
We all personally enjoyed the physical aspect too. We logged 3.7 miles, 8400 steps, and 1000 calories burned. Carry a water bottle and hit it often to avoid the discomfort of a headache at the end though.

Alex is a creative, funny and wonderful host. The clues were a mix of simple and complicated, jumbled up just right to have a blast while not getting bored or overwhelmed. It does need a lot of walking up and down the hills.

If you are looking for a fun day in a beautiful place I highly recommend The Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt San Clemente. If your new to the town or a local you will have a blast hoping around town solving a array of delightfully challenging puzzles and problems in order to solve the who-​done-​it. Sadly, my team came in fifth place, but the finish didn’t matter as much the fun we had as a group of four friends.

This was SO much fun! But do show up with your thinking cap and comfy shoes. Alex is really creative, and several puzzle solver heads are a big help. Haven’t had as fun a Sunday in awhile. Looking forward to solving the San Diego crime, even though we didn’t finish the San Clemente one.

We had a Great Time! We had much more fun than we expected. The murder clues were difficult but doable. We can say that because our team won by 2 minutes. We walked over 5 miles in about 4 hours, up an down some hills. A bit too physical for small children or elderly.
