Pinnacle at Talega

I am confused by all the bad reviews. I can assure you that the community is not awful and dirty like the pics show. My husband and I LOVE living here. Super nice community, it is GATED, awesome amenities, lots of grass area for my dog, lots of parking, perfect sized units, reasonable rent. I have had one time where I needed maintenance and they went out of their way to help me. There are awesome hiking trails near by and it is close to lots of stores but out of the way so it is quiet over here. I love it. Wouldn’t wanna live anywhere else!

I called the 800 number on the home page and had an appointment set up to visit the complex. After 30 minutes of sitting in traffic, I get there just to discover that the leasing office is closed. If prospective tenants are subject to such impeccable professionalism, I cannot imagine how awesome it must be once you are an actual resident.

I went to visit my son and barbecue a tri tip roast. The BBQ grills were covered with grease and rust. I had to line the grill with aluminum foil to prevent getting the grease from the grill on to my food.
The trash cans were filled with garbage and overflowing. This is a disgusting apartment complex and does not seem to care about about its quality or health requirements.
I will never cook there again.

I’ve lived here for a year and a half and it started out fine. Unfortunately, the quality of residents has gone down. We have a bunch of college aged kids upstairs that everyone in my building hates. They throw parties every weekend and hang out outside screaming at each other in the middle of the night. Several neighbors have told me they complained and nothing was ever done. It is insanely loud and the courtesy patrol does nothing. One morning I woke up to one of them yelling that they were going to kill whoever they were screaming at. It was 6:30 AM on a Saturday so I wasn’t thrilled. Called courtesy patrol and the screaming continued for a while.
There’s rarely any parking after 7 PM and when you park outside the gate, your car gets broken into. My husband has had his broken into twice in six months. Lots of residents don’t use their garages to park and think it’s totally okay to store run down vehicles in the lot. Another review mentioned this. People also park work trucks and storage pods in spaces. Why am I paying over 1500 dollars a month for a 632 square foot apartment that doesn’t even have ample parking? I don’t know. I must be insane.
People let their children roam freely in the parking lot. There’s a park across the street so it doesn’t make sense. Anyway, I can’t wait to move. It’s too expensive to live near so much trash.
I will say that maintenance is great and fast. They are all very friendly. It’s the only perk to this place.

Noisy I can hear the people under me and the people in the parking lot easily, pricey (for my 1 bedroom apartment now I might as well buy 2 bedroom) they upped it on my lease renewal. Thanks, shit I have to deal w/​while my husband is away…, depressing don’t expect friendly neighbors or community, gated community isn’t really gated, they always leave the doors open with sticks and you can easily get in (it’s a slow barrier though). *** NO PARKING AFTER 8 PM, I literally have to park on the curb every night I come home late from work. It’s stressful, also Joyce S comment I can relate to. There’s a truck that hasn’t moved in MONTHS! And he’s crooked.
Maintenance staff is so amazing, I respect them they make this place really clean and safe. No ants in my apartment, this place is open to pets just tell them on your lease, it has speed bumps in the parking lot, view and scenery here is beautiful and peaceful, park is near, walmart + other useful places nearby like your work or the base, and lastly, traffic isn’t too bad driving up to this road since it’s deserted!

First off if you read and consider the reviews written in November or December of 2014, I would take into account they were giving away gift cards to people that wrote the complex Unilocal reviews.
We transferred from another Essex property for my husbands work relocation. We initially tried to lease a Lavish floor plan but while looking at it they leased it over the phone then leaving us with the only choice to take the «Luxury» unit. We lived there for less than a month and had to transfer because the floorplan was horrible. We signed a short term lease at the second unit because we recognized right away what a bad decision it was to move here.
Anyways now onto the real review.
1. No cell service, there is no cell service no matter what company you have, we have sprint and att and had to get in apartment boosters that run off your wifi signal to have any service at all.
2. The units are junk. Our unit was dirty and the cabinet faces were all peeling. We did our move-​in walk thru with maintenance since we thought it was so bad and they «promised» us we would have new cabinet doors, new counter tops that were covered in drawings, and other items would all be fixed, if you move into 7105 I wouldn’t be surprised it was still not fixed. For over 2k a month not 1 cabinet door should be peeling or broken, that’s not being picky that is being real. Also the people that lived about us stomped around and you could hear their baby cry all the time. I totally understand that living under people you may happen to hear them however I shouldn’t be able to hear your conversations, know when you are making a smoothie, or hear your 3 year old run laps throughout the apartment all day every day.
3. Pendleton you basically live there. Do you like to hear bombs going off, having them shake your books and picture frames? What about machine gun fire? Or low helicopter flyovers? That is what goes on literally every day, except Saturday and Sunday they get those days off.
4. Along with living on the front lines of Pendleton you get to live with all the military families that have tons of children. The driveways are U shaped for the garages and all those parents let there unsupervised children come down and skateboard, draw chalk drawings, ride bikes, sword fight pretty much any kids game right outside your window so even if you don’t have kids it will sound like you do.
5. Car storage, going away for a long time? Have a repo man looking for your ride? Can’t afford the renewal on your plates so you need to stash it somewhere for a bit? Come park it here, it will literally never touched, and please feel free to park it right infront of the building entrance crooked, that what numerous folks do. We lived in our unit for 6 months and 1 vehicle only moved once and that was after enough people complained so the apartment office had it pushed into another spot even more crooked that it initially was. The apartment manager lived in our building and outside 4 vehicles did not move for over 4 months and nothing was ever done till we complained about it numerous times. You would think that driving by numerous times on a golf cart they would notice this, but no.
6. U-​shaped driveway to garages sounds like a good idea but when your neighbors are shaping surfboards and running craigslists business out of them it totally sucks!
7.Move out fees– I get it I totally get it no matter what when you move out of an apartment they charge you to clean, however our fees were excessive. 125 to clean (fine, normal), Floor scrub, because he had «hardwoods» $ 65.00 (wait I thought I just paid 125 for cleaning), carpet cleaning $ 50, (we had 2 rooms with carpet and that wasn’t in the cleaning fee either), 62 dollars for painting for 4 hours (we surely paid for a few peoples lunch breaks in that, we didn’t hang any pictures)
Talega is a beautiful place however that ends when you get to Calle Amistad. Right across from Pinnacle is an income restricted complex so the street is lined with broken down vehicles and a taxi parking lot.
Reviews of our actual units:
Luxury– the «deluxe» 2.5 bed 2 bath «townhouse», ok what is a .5 bedroom? This is a weird area at the base of the stairs that fits a chair or a bookcase. This apartment had the worst flow of any I have ever lived in. Also the apartment is up a narrow stucco staircase which if you have any furniture you care about you will make the wise choice to not rent one of these as our leather couch didn’t survive.
Lavish– So much wasted space in the design of these. 2 upper cabinets in the kitchen with 1 lower but there is a desk area inside the master bedroom? Why wouldn’t they put 2 sinks in the master and get rid of that dumb desk area that just ends up holding folded laundry.

Don’t live here unless you have no other options. They will jack up your rent by hundreds of dollars every time you have to sign a new lease, maintenance is extremely slow, the walls are thin, and the management is rude and abrasive. Everything will be find the first few months and after that it will go downhill fast. We are paying $ 2200 for a two bedroom apartment and moving out at the end of the month. Pinnacle has already been advertising our apartment online at $ 1750. They will jack up the rent on you any chance they get. Don’t plan on living here long term.

Good area. Horrible maintenance put in request 6 –7 weeks ago. Still no show for fix!
Parking is horrible. Customer relations here sucks @$$. People at the front office don’t know how to treat people! The only reason I gave it a one star is because 0 is not an option

I love living here. Great location. Great benefits: gated community with ample parking, pool, hot tub, community grills and fitness centers, and the grounds are beautifully kept. They regularly perform upgrades to make life here even better. The staff is courteous and proficient, quick to assist with a smile.
The real test of an apartment complex is how they treat work requests. Pinnacle at Talega is fantastic! The maintenance crew responds with great speed and care. I haven’t needed assistance often, but when I call or submit a work order online, like when my garbage disposal wasn’t working, the maintenance has been routine and not at all emergency but they still respond with haste! I put in the request the night before online at the residents portal, and within 12 hours, Felix is at my door ready to fix it. Efficiency and professionalism in spades.

My husband and I moved in with our two kids back in August. We love it here so far. The community is really well maintained and there aren’t people speeding through the parking lot like they would at a different community we lived before here. We have a lot of space and more for a two bedroom apartment. Any maintenance we’ve had done is responded to and completed in great time. Love having air conditioning when it really heats up outside. The windows are great and allow plenty of light to come in. Definitely would recommend this community to anyone. So many different floor plans to choose from.

My husband and I moved into Pinnacle at Talega when we relocated from New Jersey to California in 2008. We loved the Community and lived there for 2 ½ years. We then had an opportunity to rent a condo from a friend and moved out of Pinnacle. After three years our friend decided to cell his condo, and we didn’t think twice about moving back to Pinnacle. We moved back this past February and just renewed our lease for another year. Pinnacle is a great place to live. Everything is so well maintained, and customer service is excellent. We love the location in Talega, and everyone that we’ve come in contact with from the office to the maintenance staff have always been both professional and friendly. Pinnacle makes apartment living a great experience!

Ive lived here since April and LOVE IT!!! My parents live here as well for atleast 5 years and love it as well, my boyfriends mom just moved in over thanksgiving weekend and also loves it here! everyone in the office is AMAZING! Patsy is so sweet! its so quiet and all of my neighbors are so nice! i truly love living here!

I’ve lived at Pinnacle since September of 2013 and have loved it. Maintenance is awesome. They literally respond right away and its always super convenient for me to put in a work order online.
I LOVE the office staff. Reading the reviews on here, I’m shocked that people say they’re rude. Maebelynn in particular is so helpful and sweet.
The apartments are in excellent condition and its usually very quiet — oh and I actually get great cell service thru AT&T.
Only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, its worth the money to me. I would definitely recommend Pinnacle to anyone.

I have lived at the Pinnacle at Talega apartments since June 2013 and have enjoyed the time here for the following reasons:
Maintenance issues have been addressed promptly and taken care of by a qualified team.
The property is maintained well, the grounds are kept clean.
The administrative staff has always responded promptly to calls or emails.
When extending my lease past the initial term, the rate was much higher and I was not initially prepared for that. There is no fixed amount specified in the lease agreement so you may be surprised if you decide to extend your lease term.

My boyfriend and I have lived here since May and we are both really happy. I’ll list the reasons why.
1. Maintenance here is fantastic. It’s a small group of guys and they are always around, so we are on a first name basis. Whenever we have a problem (which honestly has maybe only been once) they come up right away and fix it. They are also really helpful. One time I left the apartment for a vacation and became paranoid I forgot to lock the door. I called their hotline and they went to check for me. Another time I complained that the sprinkler water was staining my car and I think they changed the settings for it after because it hasn’t happened since. I appreciated that.
2. The premises are very well kept. Somebody below mentioned cigarette butts. I haven’t seen one the entire time I’ve lived here, but perhaps we live in separate areas.
3. It’s quiet. We never hear our neighbors through the walls.
4. They are dog friendly! Almost everyone has a dog. And the neighbors are friendly as well!
5. The office staff members are really nice too. They will email you if you have a package you’ve forgotten to pick up. One of the ladies who works in the office lives here as well, which is nice because when you go to the office you know you’re talking with somebody who is also your neighbor.
6. Most importantly, the apartments are nice! They are spacious, come with a bathtub, a patio, plenty of counter space in the kitchen and good sunlight. The main difference between here and Avana (and don’t get me wrong, those apartments were also lovely) was that the Pinnacle apartments had brighter accents, and therefore felt brighter in general. In terms of 1 bedrooms, Pinnacle also has slightly more square footage for around the same budget.
One con:
1. I actually forgot to post this the first time around because we’ve gotten used to it but… no cell phone service. Literally, none. Zero bars. If you want to be able to text message people without using WiFi, or make phone calls, you will need to purchase a signal extender, which doesn’t always work. One workaround I’ve used is making my outgoing phone calls on my laptop via Google voice. It isn’t ideal, but as I said, we’ve gotten used to it. These days everybody seems to have iPhones so do we get by with iMessage. If you need to use your phone a lot for work, you will absolutely need a landline.
Now, for the move out charges which others have mentioned. I’ve gotten sucker punched by those before — not here — but since we haven’t moved out yet I have nothing to say about it. I’ll post them here when the time comes. Obviously that’s a very important consideration when you decide to live somewhere. UPDATE: we got a partial security deposit back, which was very fair. No sucker punches here!
We are very happy!

The wife and I have lived here for 4 months now. When we moved in we had not yet looked at any reviews.
Now after seeing the reviews we are surprised. We have nothing but good things to say about the place! It is beautiful and most of the time quiet… and the central air is AMAZING.
Ok we could say one bad thing. The neighbor below us sometimes let her dog pee on the sidewalk. It sucks and we could get her in trouble but its not that bad considering how nice everything else is.
Their maintenance team is lighting fast and the landscaping is always pristine. If you have any doubts based on negative reviews you should go see the place for yourself before you pass on it.

Came into the office today just to pick up my package. I had my puppy in my hand and Melissa was so rude and made me feel unwelcome. She immediately asked for my apartment number and said «you do not have a dog listed in your apartment»

I have to second all the uncomplimentary bad reviews for this complex … I lived there twice, once when were new, it was great and the stuff was extremely polite, the second time, they were rude, dismissive and unhelpful, usually it is the manager or the assistant, has to call the main main office to complain… but nothing changes… the place has too many dogs running around no leach, small kids panting in parking lost, accident waiting to happen, dirty building full of cigaret buds and trash, pool used by people who don’t live in complex… be careful when you leave your unit, they will charge way more than they should… do a walk through and get the hell out of there … Better idea don’t go live there …

Don’t ever use BRE Properties rented at San Clemente for one month, didn’t hang a picture and they charged me over $ 1,000 in move out fees. Rent a property in Irvine for 2 years and get charged $ 100. BRE sucks.

I’ve moved from California to Texas and, in my apartment hunting here, have found that no one ever leaves positive reviews foe apartments! People are so quick to fire up the keyboard if the experience was a bad one, so I just want to write about how much I loved living here.
The property is beautifully kept, trash never piled up at the dumpsters, leaves and twigs are removed with regularity. The unit itself had no pests, leaky windows, noisy a/​c unit. When we accidentally broke our washer, the maintenance man was out the same day to fix it, which he did quickly and successfully.
The complex hosts little community mixers in the conference room with free snacks like Jamba Juice or pizza, which are nice.
Everyone in the office knew my boyfriend and I by name, a very nice touch that goes a long way to making one feel at home.
Overall, management and maintenance were responsive, friendly, courteous and professional. The property is beautiful, well-​kept, and pest-​free. I get nostalgic for this place all the time.
