We specialize in handmade Oriental rugs. We carry a wide range of sizes, styles competitively priced. Having a wide variety of high quality, hard to find, oversize, and even antique rugs. You can find pieces from Persia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries as well, a selection that will please even the most discriminating rug collector.

You will find friendly knowledgeable staff with experienced customer service and offer pick up and delivery services. At our services include: buying, selling, trading, expert restoration, skilled cleaning, fair appraisal and insurance reporting. We ship everywhere!

History

Established in 1999.

A family owned two generation business. Specializing in handmade rugs, direct importers, appraisers, sellers and buyers of rugs. WE have professional cleaning and repair services and also work with insurance. The Gaslamp location services local patrons and tourists. We ship nationally and to some international locations. We offer free design consultations and are happy to work with our customers in person or via email. Knowledgeable staff ready to answer your questions, come see us!

Manager

have had an interesting life and besides many names have lived in many places. I have many talents at different times of my life have been involved in science, art, cooking, poetry and music and now persian rugs. I have had experience in home design, picture frame design, fabrics, curtains, furniture, as well as 12 yrs working in Persian rugs, My education includes a bs in chemistry, textile dyeing, interior design, arts, architecture and recently got an MBA, I am very qualified to help you find the right rug for your home and collection.

I recently discovered this gem of a rug shop. The setting is classy and welcoming. They have the most extensive inventory of rugs with every possible size and provenance. Their service is attentive and low-​key yet energetic in helping you explore their offerings. I had a 100-​year old rug, a family heirloom, repaired by them and they did a masterful job. I can’t say enough about what a positive experience I have had with the 4th Ave. Rug Gallery.

We needed a rug for a trade show booth and this was the closest place. What we found was a wonderfully friendly store with a extraordinary assortment of fantastic rugs of all prices. Mona showed us several rugs that were just what we needed. Of course, most were at the bottom of a big stack of rugs. She suggested we come back in a half hour, when she could have them pulled out so we could see them better. When we returned, each was spread out so we could compare them. The rug was perfect, but the experience of shopping at 4th Ave and meeting Mona was outstanding. I recommend it with enthusiasm.

Arman has a prime location shop downtown San Diego across from Horton Plaza. It is filled with a large selection of beautiful rugs. He is very knowledge about the region a rug originated from, the material, quality/​workmanship. He will take his time speaking with you to help make the right selection. I first learned of his shop from my Mother who entrusted Arman in cleaning and repairing our Oriental rugs that have been in the family for 3 generations. A high quality rug is in essence an investment in a piece of art, that can tie the entire décor of a room together bringing warmth, interest, and completeness.

We walked into this beautiful store amazed by the selection of fabulous rugs. Mona, her husband, and their daughter Malika helped us pick out the right sized rug and helped us afford a beautiful Persian rug. Not only do they have some incredible rugs, but their friendliness made us for a moment feel like we were part of their family.

I recently visited 4th Ave Rug Gallery and was greeted by Mona. She listened carefully to my likes in rugs and showed me some fine examples. I did not buy anything that day, but I have in the past. They have a great selection and are very knowledgeable. I asked many ‘rookie’ questions and Mona was very kind to answer them all. The prices are not ‘discount’ but you also get service. I hope to be able to buy in the future. Go see them!

She did not try the «hard sell», but was willing to answer all my questions. We needed an appraisal and they were very thorough in researching the origin and value of the rug. This place was pretty much a dream come true! I had been looking for a nice persian rug of a certain color and price range for almost a year. Either I’d see what I liked at an outrageous price, or I’d see lesser rugs that I could afford. Then I walked in here, already assuming that the beautiful corner location of the store would mean inflated prices. I couldn’t have been wronger! They have all price ranges and designs of area rugs you could want.
I found the perfect red and black rug (traditional color) for unbeatable price with the kindest, zero pressure sales help. I took the rug home on trial and it was perfect.
I can’t recommend this store enough. I’ll be back!

We recently had our authentic Persian rug cleaned by 4th Avenue Rug Gallery. The rug had been damaged by a water leak at our house. It was discolored and we were unsure if the rug could be successfully cleaned. We took it to two other rug dealers who were not confident they could clean to rug successfully and without further damage. 4th Avenue Rug Gallery was able to clean our rug and the stain/​discoloration is not visible at all anymore. We are very happy with the result! The service with 4th Avenue Rug Gallery was excellent, very efficient and professional. We highly recommend their service!

4th ave. is the best!!! I had a wool rug from India that I loved. It had some pet stains that I thought for sure were there to stay. Cynthia assured me they could improve them. The rug came back more than improved, it looked as good as it smelled. It was done in a timely manner and I never felt like I was being up sold. Great service at a great price. What else could you ask for?
