Review is for a men’s haircut… and it was awesome, and has been great since I started going there a few months back. I recently moved to SD and have been trying to find a good haircut… it took me a while, but once I had a cut from Jasmine the search was over!
She has given me an outstanding haircut the past 4 times I have been there and I plan to keep going back! I highly recommend her if you are searching for someone who knows what they are doing!

Alejandra/​Alexandria was so patient with my hair. She is a champion for sticking out with my hair for 5 hours!!! She is my new best person to come to for an awesome hair change. I came in and showed her a few pictures of the color I wanted and she helped me achieved the colors I was going for. They didn’t have the exact premade color I wanted for my tips so she AND the whole team had to mixed a special color for me based on the formulas they found from their online research. It was amazing that they never said no to what the clients wanted. For the color I was going for I didn’t think it would happen in the first process because my hair was so dark and the ends were fryed, but Alejandra made it happen and I am Very happy about the results. I will definitely come back again and recommend my friends here!

Nancy is the best!!!
I’ve been going to see her for years and never had a bad experience at all. She always hooking up my hair with the latest style and color. I also bring my daughter to see her and she is so great with kids.
Will be coming back again.

To start off the Salon is very clean and well kept, but my experience was horrible.
To begin I had booked three days of appointments on their website for the same time and I was never contacted back to know when to come in which was unusual because they’ve contacted me before when I used the online system so I decided to stop by the salon. Now when I walked in I was told the salon was busy and that no one has checked the appointments made online so that I needed to come in another time but then the rep told me they could help me in an hour without asking me why I was there (literally just wanted to go blonde since my hair was light enough). An hour later a second girl helped me and got upset because she thought I was getting a haircut but when I told her I wanted to do one color for $ 65 I was told she also didnt have time since it would take a 5hr process, but she explained that she could just lighten my ends and I could come back another day (and she apologized about the online booking not being checked) so I said sure and we did the process.
My hair wasnt great for the end result because I had so many streaks and bands of pink in my hair and was charged around $ 150 because «she did my top hair with highlights at the bottom.» She literally never touched the top of my hair and only applied toner to the top and bottom of my hair for 10 freakin minutes!!! So I was really upset I got charged for something that wasnt done, not to add wasn’t done correctly. I already have a pixie haircut so to also be charged for normal length hair was even more ridiculous because she ended up cutting my hair even more and said she wouldn’t charge me for it but in the end she did! She also mentioned she wanted me to come back in for a free visit to fix my hair and simply handed me her card and rushed me out the door before I could make an appointment with her then and there (since they dont check the online appointments).
I knew the process to blonde hair was going to be long so I was kind enough to take her schedule with other clients into consideration and took the advice she recommended for my hair and got really screwed over for it! I will not be returning to this place it’s just not for me, the ladies are very nice and the salon is also nice but for the price I really could just go to any salon and get the same thing done and for less.

For some reason after reading the reviews, I expected this place to be really nice. It’s a small shop in a mini mart that looks like a Super Cuts. The girl that cut my hair was incredibly rude to me and made it very clear the whole 30 mins I was there that she was very pissed I was 8 mins late. She basically told me to walk and talk instead of sitting in the chair so I didn’t waste anymore of her time. When I asked her for advice on what to do with my hair, she responded «whatever, it’s your hair». I wish I had just walked out and given my money to someone that was somewhat appreciative of my business. After all of that, I’m going somewhere else to have the cut fixed. Super bummed I went here.

Its my first time here. Nancy lived up to her great rep of being a master stylist! I love my new bob! I love the new color! Now I have a new place to get my hair did! Thank you Nancy

Took my daughter in for a haircut yesterday and they did a wonderful job! Will definitely being going here for my haircuts from now on.
Update on my first review was needed because I just went in and got my own haircut with Alejandra. She did a fantastic job! She listened to exactly what I wanted and was happy to go back and trim a little more off. No worries about saying take two inches off and ending up with four inches off. Love this shop. Everyone is friendly and they do a great job!

Diana was great and the conversation was really friendly and fun, which I enjoy because I trust a stylist more if I’m comfortable talking to them. I went in just for a trim to cut off all my split ends. She made sure to check with me to make sure she didn’t cut off too much. It turned out great and my hair felt healthy again.
Will be coming back for her!

Won’t go back… My hair is shorter than I had hoped and the color is not even close. Also she didn’t rinse my hair very well after the color and the water that dripped from my hair stained my shirt.
I am editing this review because I forgot to mention that the dye that wasn’t rinsed out of my hair STAINED the shower in my apartment.

I keep forgetting to write my review but I must say this place is owned and run by people who are very selective on which customer they will provide a great experience to. The people on the phone are usually rude and act like your call is an inconvenience. I had to deal with such rude service that I had to politely end the call… the owner calls me back later and doesn’t even acknowledge my complaint that her employees are rude and mannerless. I prefer having an Asian hairdresser but I will drive to Orange County any day over this ho-​hum place.

I’ve been going to Diana for about 5 Years now and have had the best experience ever. I can always trust her with anything I want to do to my hair whether it be cut, color, highlights, low lights, and treatments. (I’ve done them all) I’ve gone from brunette to blond to reds and every time I end up leaving completely happy. She really loves what she does and you can tell. I recommend her to all my girlfriends and family.

I have been going to her for years and have never had a bad experience. She is great at cutting my hair and knows exactly what I want, when I first come in the door.

Love Amy. She is so amazing! I’ve been going to her on and off for years… and the only reason I’ve been off is because I’ve taken long breaks from dying my hair. I’ve fallen in love with her ombré which requires me to come in once every 10 mos. That’s insane, especially since at the 6 mos mark it still looks beautiful. For me I don’t really have a ton of time to juggle a hair appt every 6 weeks since I work and have a little one. This style has worked out absolutely perfect… she delivers perfectly natural highlights. Really subtle and very well done.
She books FAR out for a good reason. But TRUST me she’s worth the wait!!!

Referred to Amy by someone who’s hair I coveted… Amy is very service oriented and truly cares about her clients. Got an ombré balayage as well a much needed cut. Amy gave my hair «flounce» and truly beautiful color!!! Highly recommend.

Got Nancy to chop off 16 inches of my hair and turned it into a pixie cut for the summer. Girl got skills! Went back there two months later to keep my pixie maintained and she did an equally fabulous job as the first time. She tried to convince me to add to it to make it up, and I would’ve taken her up on her offer. However, my job frowns upon «unnatural» hair styles and included dying and/​or streaking your hair with unnatural hair colors. Since I was only up for purple/​blue colors, I had to pass.
Unfortunately, I had to move away temporarily for my job, so I am gonna grow out until I move back to San Diego.

Maybe I was an unlucky one. I saw the great Unilocal review and called for an appointment with Nancy. The person on the phone told me that she was not available this week, but I made an appointment anyways. She didn’t tell me who will be cutting my hair.
Well, when I arrived on the next day, the stylist who was cutting my hair didn’t introduce herself to me nor said hi to me. I was a little taken a back. And overall her attitude really confused me. When I was explaining her how I want my hair to be cut, she had a very cold look and didn’t seem to help me at all. Maybe she was having a bad day or whatever. I was also having a hard time sitting in the washing station chair, adjusting, asked her if she can adjust the chair for me, then she just told me that it was all my fault how I sit in the chair and she couldn’t do anything about it. I almost stood up and left with my wet hair.
I give her 2 stars because the cut that she did was fine. It’s just how she treated me in the beginning like I was not her valued customer, like she didn’t care having me as her customer and making me feel uncomfortable throughout the appointment. The service was just not acceptable. It seemed like everyone came to place know each other, and I was treated like invisible. I will not come back. Oh, hey, she might already knew that from the beginning.

Tiffany did a really nice job on my cut and I loved the blowout she did for me! I hadn’t had a haircut in about 10 months and had an unfortunate amount of bleach damage. I was nervous to try someone new since I usually get my hair cut from my favorite person out of state, but I ended up being happy with how much she listened to what I wanted, got rid of the unhealthy ends while keeping my length as much as she could, didn’t take too much off of my top layers that I’m growing out, and I felt like she took her time.
My only complaint is that the salon itself was a bit too warm and I felt uncomfortable under the apron, and it would’ve been nice to have been offered water, but otherwise I had a good experience.
After I wash and style my hair myself, I’ll update if I change my mind about the haircut!

My Korean hair stylist recently left SD and he was the ONLY stylist I ever trusted with my side swept bangs.
Granted, he always called me Stacy even though 1) I’ve been going to him for YEARS and 2) um, my name isn’t even Stacy. Whatever. His hair cuts were cheap and he did the best bang trims. Call me whatever wrong name you want.
I heard about this place from a Pilates friend b/​c I always admired her bangs. It’s weird what girls notice about other girls right. She said she came here but didn’t remember the name of the stylist.
I called the salon and Nancy was the girl who answered the phone. She didn’t know which stylist did my friend’s bangs but I decided to give Nancy a try.
And how I love her. You know you have a great stylist when: a) they listen to client go on and on about their stupid bangs; b) she asks you to bring in photographs of haircuts you like; c) she’s ON TIME for the appointments; d) stylist does the washing AND drying of the hair herself (doesn’t have some sort of intern or asst doing so); and e) she gives you her full undivided attention to your hair. My appointment was about one hour.
She did a great job on my side swept bangs and I loved the way she blended my hair (I still don’t really know what that term really means but I like the way it sounds — AND, most importantly, how great it looks). She was meticulous with getting my hair JUST right and that’s greatly appreciated by an OCD neurotic freak like myself. And, she does a FANTASTIC blow out!
The hair cut cost $ 45 which is about $ 10 more than what my previous stylist charged me (he was always late, didn’t always cut the greatest, and let’s not forget him calling me Stacy for like 4+ years).
I was going to give 4 solid stars but after listing all her positive traits, I bumped the review to 5 stars. I hope my hair and bangs grow out well. It’s always tough to wash your hair after and not be able to blow dry it like your stylist. So I’m curious to see what it’ll look like.
Regardless, I think I’ve found a new stylist and salon to call my Bang’s home. Yes — my bangs need to have a home too you know.
