We specialize in the sales and installation of replacement (retrofit) window and door applications and are backed by 25+ years of construction experience. We provide windows and doors with the best warranty in the market. We are a licensed and insured window and door installation company as well as an authorized Simonton dealer and service repair company. We also install products by ThermaTru, Escon Doors, and Milgard Windows & Doors and our repertoire includes windows, sliding patio doors, French doors, entry doors, and interior doors. Material includes vinyl, wood, fiberglass, and aluminum windows and sliding patio doors and fiberglass entry door systems. We serve all of San Diego County. We are the Action in SatisfAction!

Established in 2007.

We opened Action Window and Door when the economy plunged into recession but we were just getting started. Building a business in the midst of a recession forces you to be lean and smart. Our foundation is to provide the best customer service experience as possible and provide and install only the best windows and doors.

We are the only company that I know of who provides a, real and written, «Lifetime Installation Warranty». We warrant our installation for as long as you live in your home. Many feel buying from Home Depot, Lowes or the «Big Box» stores they they will get the best deal but when it comes to window and door sales and installation that is not the case. It is always best to get at least two quotes, I encourage you to get a quote from the «Big Box» stores first, then Action Window and Door. I have been in the construction industry most of my life. While living in Michigan, during my early teens, I would assist my older brother, Mark, in his Barn Restoration business. After moving to California in the early 80’s, I started working in the pool business then lath and plaster then framing then plumbing then… well you get the picture. After mastering several other trades, I became a California licensed General Contractor.

In 2007 I chose to specialize in Windows and Doors, mainly the sale and installation of Vinyl Retrofit Replacement Windows and Doors. Since then we have diversified our products lines from just vinyl to Fiberglass windows and doors, Fiberglass entry doors, Wood windows and doors and Aluminum windows and Doors. In addition, we sell and install hollow core and solid core interior doors.

I’m overdo to write a review…2 years ago I bought 11 windows from Action Windows. I’m a bargain hunter and they, by far had the best prices and the best customer service. After 1 of my windows broke (happens when you have 3 boys) they were quick and neat when replacing it! A year later, I bought 5 more windows for an addition and this month we ordered 7 windows for my mom’s home. I don’t have too waste time shopping around any longer, as I know I will always find the best prices, customer service and product backing at Action Windows! David and his staff are The Best in town!!!

I had my windows replaced this week by Action Window & Door The windows are awesome and the experience was very easy. The men that did the installation were very professional and helpful. I was unable to remove my blinds on my own, and they were happy to help and even re-​installed the hardware when they were finished. The whole complex was done in 3 days and the transformation of our building is amazing. The crew was great and cleaned up everything. I would recommend Action to anyone looking to do a upgrade on their property. Thanks so much.

UPDATE: After bringing the issues with my installation to the attention of the Unilocal community, I received a phone call from the President of the Company and their scheduler and they sent someone out right away to correct the issues. You can usually tell the character of a company by how they handle issues when they arise and Action did a great job. Very pleased!

We didn’t end up using them because my husband wanted a different brand window, but they were wonderful to work with and were very professional. They came out measured and gave us a quote right there and then. He did it all electronically so it could be emailed to me. I was very impressed and would have definitely used them. Our old single pane Aluminium windows simply radiated heat, were difficult to open and also had drafts. Initially, I went to home depot to ask how much it would cost to replace 7 of our windows. Their quote was cheaper than I anticipated but still pretty expensive. Also, the reviews for Home Depot windows are mediocre.
Fortunately, I decided to get 3 quotes from 3 recommended window companies, Simonton, Milgard and Anlin, for all 16 windows. Nathan and Dave from Action Window & Door came and gave me a great demonstration of their product and gave a good initial quote. They also responded quickly to my requests for adjusting the quote with different options. One great point was that Dave was thinking while doing the quote. He suggested replacing our ‘slider’ bathroom windows with double-​hung windows, which makes perfect sense (obvious in hindsight) but he was the only rep to suggest this change.
After finalizing my order they installed my new windows within two weeks. The installer, Alex, was extremely courteous and left everything very clean. There was one mistake in the order, but Action Window & Door quickly rectified the error.
We have had the windows for a month now, and are extremely pleased.
ps this company serves all of San Diego. For some reason they did not come up in my first search on Unilocal — maybe because they say ‘Spring Valley’ on their profile?

To properly increase the heating and cooling efficiently on my house, I needed 4 new windows. The two on the north side of my house were old, single pane, metal framed, and insecure. The other two in my great room were at least double paned, but very low tech and energy inefficient bottom of the barrel. I’d received some quotes over the years and the best one actually came previously from The Home Depot, but I wasn’t quite ready to pull the trigger yet. When my HVAC project started gathering steam, their system designer highly recommended I make the switch on the 4 mentioned windows, and that he knew a guy. I was slightly wary at first as this could be an easy source for a kick-​back, but the guy ended up being Dave, the owner, of Action Window and Door. He looked over the info provided to me by Home Depot, determined that those windows, while they are good, they are slightly lower quality than what he could provide, then he provide the price, which was well below even the Home Depot. Of course the answer was yes. They were quick, I had an install date just two weeks out. Yesterday the techs showed up and got the install done in about 3.5 hours. The windows are beautiful, their performance is still to be determined but I anticipate great results.

They came out, gave me a competitive bid, told me the install date of approx. two weeks away, arrived on the day as promised and completed the job in five hours! Excellent and fair pricing. I recieved quotes from bm windows, brothers and anderson windows in san diego. Action was slightly less expensive but not by much. However i was sold on their attention to detail and a positive recommendation from a neighbor. They explained the whole process including material, installation, payment, and clean up with enthusiasm and thoroughness. The Installers were clean loooking and professional. They even laid a tarp down so the carpet wouldn’t get soiled. The windows look fantastic and i couldnt be more satisfied. I just want to pass the torch on and highly recommend their service.

After having two windows installed in my master bath as part of a remodel, I decided to have the master bedroom done as well. I’m so impressed that I will have the whole house done. The prices are excellent and the people are as good as it gets. To me this is a super solid operation. I have not had the windows long enough to report on wear and tear but they are lightyears ahead of the ones that were originally installed.

I needed some 31 year old French doors installed which were warped and had a termite infested frame. I called 5 different local door/​window companies for estimates, and 4 actually showed up in person. My first contact was with Amy who took my own measurements over the phone and within 48 hours prepared and emailed me my options in all different price ranges. None of their competitors could match their prices, and one was so honest as to tell me that I should chose Action for the job at hand. Not often to do companies recommend their competitors to do the job. After choosing Action, David came out to meet me in person, and to see the job in person. The installers name was Alex, but to call him just an installer, does not do him justice. He’s more like a European craftsman who was extremely methodical, and cleaned up after himself as he went along instead of leaving a big mess to clean up at the end. He was talented enough to create a missing piece of trim out of some old scrap wood I had laying around, which was beyond his call of duty and much appreciated. He also called to tell me when he was on his way over, and didn’t leave until his work area was spotless and made sure that I was satisfied with the job. Don’t waste your time getting estimates from various window/​door companies in San Diego, but call Action first! You will not be disappointed in the least, and will save a lot of money at the most.

We had our entire house retrofitted with Simonton windows and could not be more pleased. David is very easy to work with and knows his trade. His crew is out standing. All of this at the most competitive price. This is not an average job it is a top rate performance. Let’s face it, just how much do we ordinary homeowners know about window replacement? Maybe this is too late to do a review, but I’ve been looking at various non-​restaurant businesses on Unilocal recently and it’s really great to read peoples’ honest opinions and experiences, especially for contractors and the like. It helps me make an informed choice. So I want to put it out here that this is a great company.
I got my 8 windows and 1 sliding door done by Action a year and a half ago. Another person was giving me an estimate when I got my quote from Action and she even said that if I could get Simonton windows for that price then she wasn’t even going to compete. I found Dave to be professional and trustworthy. His team completed the job in one afternoon and left everything very clean. I love my windows (is that a weird thing to say?). Thanks, guys!
