Adept Plumbing

We had a plumbing crisis and my husband found Adept Plumbing on Google and called Steve for help. A hose broke on or washing machine and was slowly leaking water. We set an appointment for the following day to have someone come over to fix it. Hours later, around 11:00 PM to be exact, the hose completely came off and was spraying water everywhere quickly flooding our garage floor. To make matters worse the off valve was rusted shut and would not turn off!!! My husband called Steve again and he kindly talked us through getting the water turned off. The next day he arrived on time and did a great job replacing the faucets and hoses. He we professional, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely recommend his services.

The lady that answers the phones has such poor phone etiquette. This was my first time using the service but with such negative attitude over the phone I had to cancel. I wouldn’t even give them a star.

Best Plumbers Ever!!! Thanking our lucky stars that we know these great guys! We were first introduced to them a few years ago through our USAA insurance and the restoration company when we had a pipe burst! Excellent customer service! They are prompt, courteous, respectful and professional! They have taken such good care of us ! We completely trust them in our home ! After a few issues, we decided to go ahead and have the old plastic pipes in our RB home replaced! Big job, a few days, a lot of work! Our 1^st choice was Adept! They were incredible! Steve has a great crew working with him! We highly recommend this company! When something goes wrong in your home, it’s never fun and always inconvenient! We had a plumbing emergency with our kitchen sinks backed up and gunk from the bowels of the earth & circa 1000 B.C., coming at us like Alien II.
The Adept crew were very professional and attentive by phone. The owner courteous and most importantly, the plumber that came to our house — Corrie Proctor — no nonsense, very polite, low key and got the job done A-​Z and knows his stuff… all at a fair price.

With a house as old as mine, there will be plumbing issues. The guys at Adept have always been prompt, courteous and fair in their pricing. There were here today (Saturday on a holiday weekend) to replace the ancient (probably original) drain in the kitchen sink (that I managed to explode trying to plunge out the clog). Last year they replaced my tankless water heater. A few months before that, they located and fixed a gas leak.

I’ve hired Steve for two jobs in the past year and he’s delivered promptly and professionally at a competitive rate.

Kitchen Sink Disaster at 3 pm on a Sunday. Steven answered the phone and was in my apartment fixing the problem within 30 minutes. Fast, courteous and professional. Recommended.

only one who picked up phone out of the 7+ numbers i called on a Sun early evening for a clogged sink. not an emergency, came out the next day. i SO appreciate the initial pick up. all the others called late Mon morning. i don’t have time for phone tag!
price seemed reasonable. service was relatively fast, 45 min max. no reoccurring problems yet!

We had a messy plumbing problem at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. I called three plumbers with good Unilocal ratings. The first did not answer their phone, the 2^nd wanted to charge me $ 295 just to show up and then another $ 250 (minimum) to fix my problem.
Steve Walkins of Adept Plumbing was different. He arrived within 30 minutes and fixed my problem quickly without ridiculous charges. He was professional, sincere and definitely worthy of this recommendations.

They got the job done. They were pretty quick in coming out. A little slow on the work which was odd because it was a flat fee. My big complaint was the flat fee charge. It was the equivalent of 3 hours to replace a garbage disposal. And the plumber seemed genuinely disappointed I had bought a replacement myself so he couldn’t gouge me on buying a unit he had. If you’re made of money, Adept is your plumber. If you want a value, call Jay at Accolade Plumbing.

Great prompt service. My double sink started overflowing last night at 10pm! I called the guys and someone was out within the hour.
The guy stayed over two hours to get the job done and didn’t leave till gone midnight. I was charged a straight overnight fee for the service — for a 10pm call on a Saturday night, it was worth every dollar.
I’d definitely recommend them.

It has been a couple of months since I called Steve to help with a sewer back up situation. I started calling potential plumbers on a Saturday morning and he was the second one who answered, the other one’s ‘emergency’ plumber on duty didn’t return a call. They missed out on a big job.
This was the third time we had, had a sewer backup in the lower bathroom on the bottom floor. Up to this point, two other plumbers had been in the house and hadn’t fixed the problem. Evidently, they were under the impression that floods happened from ‘above’ where the water came into the house as the other guys snaked the house and not the sewer line… the others were not too good with common plumbing knowledge.
Steve came out within the hour as promised and began work. He ran a smaller snake down through the old cast iron sewer pipe and it wasn’t big enough to clear everything, but he got us going. He then got a larger snake which still couldn’t break thorugh so they ran a camera to see what the issue was. They found what the other ‘big’ guys failed to do, they found the root cause and fixed it.
I’ve read a couple of other reviews on the costs and would share that getting a fix, in my situation was worth it. Also, he was much cheaper in an ‘after hours’ situation than several other ‘emergency’ services that have tried to fix items in my house in the past and he didn’t tear things up unneccessarily as the other did which cost more money in a total cost situation.
I would add that it appears to be a family business and they were ALL extremely responsive, courteous and helpful. I will call on him and his team in the future for this and the fact that they know what they are doing and solve problems completely!

Terrible customer service. The technician Steven actually hung the phone up on me as I was trying to schedule an appointment with him. I have never had such bad service. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Very, very expensive. He charge $ 1500 for 5 hours work ($ 300 per hr). Steven did «graciously» pass along his 10% web discount after I complained, reducing it to $ 270 per hr. He also charged me an additional $ 250 for a «Leak Finder» guy he called in.
Be careful with this guy.

I am not sure who I talked to from adept plumming but they were the only ones who immediatly answered the work phone when I called. My call was not an emergency call but they did come out right away.
When the plumber arrived it was the owners son and he walked in knew what the problem was a fixed it promptly. However they gave me a price of 250 $. It was about 15 minutes worth of snake work. Had I known this price prior to them showing up I would have went with my HOA’s plumber who charges 86 $ a snake because I called them the next day for other work i needed done. My fault for not asking I guess.
But all in all the service was good I just ended up PAYING FOR IT!!!

Steven came out twice to my place in La Jolla. Once for an emergency water leak and another time for a blocked sewage line the was causing my washing machine to put water on the floor.
He came out right away and is very friendly and honest. I highly recommend him. Problems solved and easy to work with.
Ignore any negative postings… there is another Adept in SD that has nothing to do with Steven.

These guys are great.
When I called them they were quick to respond and help me with my emergency, and Steven was very professional. They were readily available to adjust their schedule to what my needs were — it was great because with other businesses the customer sits at home «waiting» for appointments — think about how long we’ve all waited for the cable guy! Adept was reasonable and accommodating and they made me feel like family. Steven is even friendly with my extremely curious cat! I will definitely be using them again!

Once again Capt jackass thought he could fix the clogged sink! What a mess and I never knew how much that sludge stank. Steven came at my wife’s request within 20 minutes. He fixed up my sink and did our tub and two toilets while he was here. This is the second and certainly not the last time we will use them. Steven is the owner and takes pride in his workmanship. He isn’t out to rip people off on things they don’t need. I highly recommend you use him for your next plumbing need.

We called Adept as a first time customer this morning at 8:50am in hopes that someone could come out to take a look at our leaking kitchen sink. The man I spoke to was very friendly and said he could have someone out to our home within the hour. Shortly thereafter, the owner, Steve, arrived to our house.
We were impressed that rather than suggesting a «band aid» repair, Steve suggested a new, permanent fix for a problem that we have experienced several times in the past. Steve was fast, efficient and ended up completing the job within an hour. His pricing was very fair and the best part is that he confidently stands behind his work by offering a 1-​year warranty on any future leaks related to this isolated fix!
Living in a high rise, we often encounter plumbers who are not confident doing work on our place and won’t apply a warranty so it was refreshing to have a professional plumber such as Adept come out and take care of us quickly.
