I’m not going to get personal so here’s a list: 1. My food tasted reheated. 2. My daughters rolled tacos probably the heated based on the amount of oil inside 3. The tortilla was good 4. Prices are high for what you get

I live literally next to the old Los compadres. I use to go there when it’s game night or a good old movie night at home. My first experience with Alberto is as follows. –doesn’t accept debit cards(it’s 2016) get with the program –Carne asada fries looks like it was pre-cooked and re dipped in the deep fryer when I order it(hence it being soggy) –the Carne asada burrito was made in half the time it took for me to order it(I literally paid the lady and sat down and viola food was done) –the meat itself I can tell they either pre-cooked their meat before you order or dont even marinate it because I never had Carne asada meat that is so bland before. All in all I walk by there often thinking Sunday mornings Los compadres was busy now a days Sunday mornings, or after school hours on weekdays the place is a ghost town and I can now know why.

This place sucks bad. Everything is all greasy and just bad. I ordered Carne asada fries and the gave me a half full plate and when I called for the complaint, they didn’t even bother to apologize. Shity place, wouldn’t ever recomend this place. + the girl taking the orders is rude asf and just don’t have any patience. She should get fired.

Iv been living in this neighborhood basically my whole life. The day that Los compadres closed its doors for good it made me sad my mom mentioned to the owner that I use to eat there as a baby but long story short I revisited to a new Alberto’s sadly my hopes were smashed. I miss my old across the street taco shop I don’t want this overly priced greasy leathery tasting food. I miss my old taco shop the old ladies always were kind and polite not to mention the food and prices were great

Well majority is correct, I went there myself since its a recognized chain of taco shops. Keep going, its not worth the price they are charging for carnesada burritos. Then they are very stingy with the salsa have to ask for more. AND why a well established name only accepts«cash only.» STRUGGLINGPLACE, make some improvements and maybe business would improve in stead of gouching the paying customer.

This place is sad. The burritos are little more than a rolled up flour tortilla. They are skimpy. I got a egg cheese potato breakfast burrito. And reAlly, it was just a tortilla wrapped around some French fries. There are so many better options when it comes to Mexican food.

Disgusting, plain and simple. I ordered the beef burrito and enchilada plate. I just could not eat this. I also ordered a pineapple drink, it didn’t taste like much. I would never come back or recommend this place. I have had better Mexican food in the Midwest. The food here is bland, they don’t even offer hot sauce, you have to ask for it. The prices are ridiculous for such a lousy meal. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Avoid it at all costs!

I only passed by because I’m doing laundry next door… BIGMISTAKE! I’ve been to a lot of Taco Shops around San Diego, and this was one of the WORST I’ve ever eaten at. The Carne Asada Burrito was greasy… EXTREMELYGREASY. And there were meat chunks inside that was as hard as leather… trust me, I’m not making this stuff up. There are better TACOSHOPS around the south bay that make a decent burrito… this is just not one of them. Not deserving of a Star!

THISSHOULDBE A 2.5STARREVIEWBUT UnilocalDOESN’T ALLOWIT, YET… I took my nana here for lunch after she requested it thinking it was still Los Compadres. It appears as though they just switched over by the check in comments on Unilocal and Four square. I switched from my usual carne asada burrito and ordered a Cali burrito. I regretted my choice as soon as I took a bite. All I tasted was potato mush speckled with meat. The salsa helped to break up the monotony but half way through I tossed the burrito down and just picked out the meat. My nana’s birria with rice and beans came in a separated plate with minimal juice. After asking we received a bowl bowl with more juice. The meat was tender and slightly sweet, no strong gamey taste. My nana said it was because it was beef. To drink I ended up stuck with horchata, which I rarely like, because their soda machine was busted. The cashier said he told me but I don’t remember hearing squat. Like the previous reviewer, Sophia Y., said this place needs to work out its kinks before I return. They had several specials for cheap, but I’d rather go somewhere I know I will enjoy what I’m about to gobble down. I’m sad to say I have found an Alberto’s I am not in love with. *Tears up*

I was a big repeat customer of Alberto’s in the 1990’s, buying the same chicken burrito at multiple Alberto’s — mostly boiled chicken in hot sauce. I asked if they have the original Alberto’s menu, boiled chicken burritos. They said they do NOT have boiled or shredded chicken burritos, only grilled. Since I was there, I ordered one. The grilled chicken burrito did NOT compare to the original Alberto’s chicken burrito I still crave for. Not only was the grilled chicken burrito I bought unsatisfactory taste wise, I was overcharged by the cashier. I have the menu in front of me I received from the store — it has a price of $ 4.00 for a chicken burrito, while the price on the menu board at the store is $ 4.50, I was charged $ 4.95 plus tax at the store, which I regret paying for now. Why am I emailing my experience of Alberto’s with you? #1 Information of a customer(my) experience. #2 If you know where to buy Alberto’s original chicken burrito(Boiled chicken in hot sauce) in or near zip code 92154, please let me know.

I’m being really generous stars because I feel bad for starting this place off with such a mediocre but I’m just giving an honest opinion. This place use to be Los Compadres, but I guess now switched over to Alberto’s. I went here twice and I thought it was alright the first time I went but the second time I went, I had to drop it a star. I got the fish burrito both times. The first time was pretty good. Decent fish, fair amount of tartar sauce and a reasonable amount of cabbage and whatever vegetables they put in it. The second time I went was pretty horrible. The fish tasted like overcooked frozen fish sticks and there was not enough tartar sauce to even keep the fish a little bit moist. The only upsides is that the hot sauces helped with the lack of dryness, the burrito is huge and the prices are really decent. Overall, I probably wouldn’t come back. At least for a while since it is still fairly new and probably working out some kinks.
