I was referred to Dr. Shojania’s office 3 years ago by my friend. My 2 wisdom teeth were coming out and I was in excruciating pain for a couple of weeks. I didn’t have any insurance so I wasn’t sure what to do because I knew how expensive dental services could be. When I came in Dr. Shojania checked my teeth and we discussed my options. I got approved for a care credit. He scheduled me for wisdom teeth removal within couple of days so I didn’t have to suffer any longer. I wanted to remove all 4 on the same day — just to get it over with. Dr. Shojania and his team made it as comfortable for me as wisdom teeth removal could possibly be. And even though couple of teeth crushed during the procedure he made sure to pull all the tiny pieces out. Week after he looked at the rest of my teeth and suggested more work to get done. I agreed. And I’m very happy with my decisions till this day. 3 years and one pregnancy later (which some say takes toll on your teeth) my teeth feel and look great. Zara at the reception desk is always nice and helpful and if you are in pain and need to see doctor right away they are pretty good scheduling you soon. Dental service are generally expensive no mater which doctor you go but if you are looking for a high quality work and long term results not just a temporary fix I highly recommend Dr. Shojania’s office.

Came here because it was on my HMO plan. He told me I needed a crown and a bunch of other stuff done. I went to other places to get opinions, they said nothing about needing a crown! He explained all the prices and said my insurance barely covered anything. I said I had to think about it before I pay an arm and a leg out of pocket (because I didn’t really trust him). And then he said something on the lines of «that’s not going to help you». Excuse me!!!
Plus, the person that took my X-​rays gave me too big of a chip to put in my mouth so the whole time taking X-​rays, my mouth was in pain!
Never coming back!!!

It had been too many years since I had been to the dentist since I let my insurance lapse. After many of hours of research I decided on Dr. Shojania. I set up the appointment, had no problems with insurance and was in and out within in hour or less. I have never been to a dentist and NOT had to wait. Everyone was very nice from start to finish. It was so simple! The best part was after 4 years of not going to the dentist I had no problems at all. They even gave me a discounted price on a much needed night guard. 5 stars all the way! I recommend this place to everyone I know.

Dr. Shojania is a great dentist. Long story short, I was visiting one of my old friends in San Diego, My crown came off during dinner and I was looking for a dentist at 6:30 PM Friday! completely hopeless and lost as what to do next, I found Dr. Shojania’s website online. I called and to my surprise his office was still open 6:30 PM Friday night. Wow, after explaining the situation, Dr. Shojania was nice enough to see me at his office 20 minutes later (even though he was busy with other patients). His staff were kind and attentive and got started with setting me up for the doctor immediately.
I went back to my friend house one hour later, He saved my smile and my trip. If you are looking for nice doctor who cares about patients in San Diego are you should look for Dr. Shojania.

I like to go to dr. s since he is a good dentist and the syaff is very friendly. It is only a half hour from where I am but its worth my time. Dr. s and his team are polite and very knowledge about dentistry. I hardly ever feel any pain when I get work done which is a plus!

I was in San Diego visiting my relatives and had a bad toothache. So my brother referred me to Dr. Shojania. I tried to make an appointment with the receptionist, but he was booked, so I explained that I was in lots of pain & requested to talk to the doctor. Doctor took my call & told me that he would stay late so he could see me.
I went to his office around 5:30 PM & doctor was just finishing up with his last patient.
The X-​ray showed a bad cavity, so he started working on my tooth immediately.
I was there for about 2 hours & left his office happy, satisfied, with no problems & a smile.
This was my happiest experience at a dental office.

This guy is a scam artist. I went to him because he was closest to me and part of my HMO plan. He wanted to pull 3 of my teeth because he couldn’t «get to the cavities otherwise». I went for a 2nd and 3rd opinion with 2 independent dentists, who both found only one small cavity and no need for teeth pulling!
Dr. Shojania (or actually, he should change his name to Dr. So Shady!) told me that the pulling would be covered by my insurance but everything else (packing, etc) was not, so I needed to pay out-​of-​pocket! I already didn’t trust the guy the minute he told me I had all these problems. I historically have had very healthy teeth.
Imagine what would’ve happened if I had blindly listened to this guy! I would’ve lost 3 healthy teeth and been out nearly $ 1000!!! I immediately called my insurance and switched dentists.
It has been over a year since and my regular check-​ups have shown perfectly healthy teeth.
DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY! Always get a 2nd and 3rd opinion.
