History

Established in 2010.

Align is a vision several years in the making. After working at several spas in downtown San Diego, I wanted to create my own space and opened in Dec 2010. The business has thrived and grown since opening, providing great services to clients. In 2015 I moved the business to beautiful Grass Valley.

Business Owner

Martina has a Masters in Oriental Medicine from Pacific College. She is a general practitioner, with a special interest in women’s health, musckuloskeletal conditions, pain and stress management, dermatology, digestive disorders, and immune health. Throughout her experiences, both as a massage therapist and an acupuncturist she has been dedicated in providing compassionate and integrative health care. Martina is constantly striving to learn, grow, and help her patients meet their health goals.

Martina is an excellent acupuncturist and an all around an amazing healer! I have been seeing her for about 8 years. Her treatments have made a significant difference in my life. I have a few minor medical conditions she treats but primarily I see her for stress relief. My body now craves the relief acupuncture gives me. Don’t be put off by the needles. They are so thin, you barely feel them. Martina is very gentle, she will work at your pace and comfort level. She truly cares about her clients.

Martina is very gifted healer. She has helped me with injuries, stress and recovery from surgery. She has even helped my elderly mother with her Parkison’s symptoms. Whether you need acupuncture, massage or both, Martina will craft a personalized program for you. I cannot recommend her enough. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with her.

It was through pure luck that I found Martina through Unilocal a few years ago. After putting me through hundreds of dollars of tests to rule out unlikely sources, my MD recommended massage therapy for a persistent knot in my neck. Martina solved that problem and then later serious lateral epicondylitis in both elbows. Although I enjoy good health, I eventually realized the value of seeing her at least monthly for maintenance (I just turned 60 yrs old). Martina just told me that she’s moving to northern California, and I am discovering through research that it’s going to be very difficult to find anyone who comes close. San Diego is losing a phenomenal massage therapist.

Martina is incredible! I first started seeing her when my digestive problems did not get 100% better with just eliminating certain foods. Martina got me the rest of the way to health with Acupuncture & Herbs. I have been seeing her for years and have never felt better! I have arthritis in my knee and her treatments have been very soothing and help with the ache. She has even treated me with Acupuncture for a head cold and the results are amazing. I highly recommend Martina for all your self-​care needs.

I found Align on Unilocal.It is a great welcoming space, convenient as I work downtown, and I couldn’t be happier with the treatments I have received. I have been seeing Martina for a month or two now for acupuncture and feel so much better. I had migraines and have not had any since starting treatment. Also, my digestion improved, I sleep better at night and just overall feel awesome every time. Thank you Align.

Martina is all kinds of amazing. I have anxiety issues and she keeps me happy and balanced. The space is comforting and inviting. And Martina knows so much about what she’s doing that it is easy to relax. After my first session I felt so relaxed I had to wait to drive home!- It was like a high. Do yourself a favor and visit her immediately!

Had a wonderful massage by Martina and couldn’t be more pleased with the results! She knows the body and found all of the horrible knots on my back in no time. Definitely the best massage I’ve had in a very long time. I also had a short acupuncture session with her when I suddenly started developing a migraine but 15 minutes later the headache was quickly retreating and all of the other symptoms were gone completely. Love her!

For four years I have struggled with severe digestive issues and food allergies. I’ve seen every doctor and specialist imaginable, but haven’t been getting any better. A friend recommend that I try acupuncture, which sounded pretty scary to me, truthfully. Nevertheless, my life has been ruined by my allergies and continual stomach aches so I decided to give acupuncture a try. I found Martina on Unilocal and immediately loved her. She carefully listened to all of my health concerns during my first visit and answered all of my questions about the treatment. I look forward to my appointments every week and leave feeling more relaxed than ever! This is my third week seeing Martina and she’s done more for me than any other doctor has done in years. Over the past few days I’ve felt better than ever (not only my stomach, but my whole body!), and I attribute it entirely to the acupuncture. I can’t wait to continue! Thank you, Martina.

I have been going to Martina for the last few months (found her on Unilocal,thank you!) and she has singlehandedly saved my body from total stress/​fatigue collapse.
I regularly exercise (run and yoga) and was getting fairly regular massages but that wasn’t enough to keep the upper back and neck tension and general stress of work from preventing me from sleeping and causing high anxiety levels.
I have found acupuncture to be the only truly effective treatment for my stress/​anxiety/​insomnia and Martina is fantastic, combining acupuncture and massage (and cupping) to make me feel like a new person each time I visit.
Acupuncture doesn’t hurt, though sometimes I can feel the needle «unblock» something and the area which has been punctured gets/​feels warm (I like to think of it as energy becoming unblocked and circulating).
If you’re even thinking of trying acupuncture, I would recommend Martina, I’ve been to other acupuncturists and Martina is one of the best!

I live in Washington DC, but my mother lives in San Diego and I wanted to give her a massage for her birthday. Martina @ Align was kind enough to take my payment over the phone, then call my mother on her birthday (a sunday) to tell her of the gift and schedule her in. The moms reported being very satisfied with the quality of the massage and the overall experience. Highly recommend!

Martina is absolutely fantastic at giving you the perfect treatment for whatever ails you, or just to help you relax. I started going to her for work-​related stress and she was able to really relax my body through a variety of techniques — massage, acupuncture and cupping. She listens to you and then designs your treatment based on what will work best for YOU. Martina is one in a million and I highly recommend making her treatments a regular part of your wellness routine!

Wow! came in with a sore shoulder from hitting a nerve on the top of my hand. Very clean inside it’s a little tucked plus I was getting direction while I was riding to the appointment… which made me about 7 minutes late but she didnt even mention it. Awesome! I would DEF recommend Martina to everyone! I have been dealing with extreme chronic issues regarding my digestion and stress for years… Martina helped me feel better than I had for a long time. Acupuncture, massage and cupping have all helped me. In addition, Martina also helped me discover the world of pro-​biotics and natural supplements. Not only is she an excellent Chinese medical practioner, but she also helped identify nutritional changes in my diet. What can I say, it’s an all stop shop when you go to Align… You won’t regret it! I don’t know where I would be without Martina as my Acupuncturist! Over a year ago, I decided to try acupuncture and I was scared and skeptical about all of it. I had been dealing with chronic migraine headaches and allergies without any relief. Martina is truly caring and makes you feel very comfortable.
I rarely get a migraine, I almost don’t remember what they feel like after 10 years of trying to just manage them. I always leave after treatment very relaxed (I probably shouldn’t drive) and generally healthier mind and body.
Martina is an amazing Chinese medical practitioner, I have recommended her to several of my friends.

I have been to Martina for both massage and acupuncture and am always amazed at how good she is! She knows exactly what to do to release the tension and pain in my neck and shoulders and even relaxes areas I didn’t know needed it. My favorite is the combination of massage and acupuncture-​but be warned, you will walk out feeling like jello!
I went to the opening of her new space, and it is great-​really nice with a convenient location on 6th ave. I would definitely recommend Martina to anyone for both acupuncture and massage. Next to try are some of the other services like cupping!

All I have to say is… Wonderful!
Martina was my acupuncturist while I lived in San Diego. She is very intuative and you can really tell she cares and will truely do her best to help you get and/​or stay health. She is a fabulous person to know and just an all around great Chinese medical practitioner.

I seem to know a lot of acupuncturists and Martina is one of the best.
We worked together closely for about four years and I always admired her. She was an incredibly hard studier in school, knew her facts inside and out. She could always treat anyone who walked in the door without batting an eyelash. I’ve had countless treatments from her and only wish I could go back to the days when I was getting them on the regular!
Martina also has heart. She is professional while genuinely caring about each and every patient she treats. She may be young but she has a lot of experience under her belt… she’s my sd gal!
