Established in 2010.

Alive Scan began offering live scan fingerprinting as well as FBI FD-​258 «Ink Card» fingerprint services for the purpose of criminal background checks and record reviews in 2010. Our mission is to provide San Diego fingerprint applicants with a very convenient service. Our location provides easy freeway access, we offer appointments from 9am to 6pm M-​F, plus our fingerprint rolling fees are only $ 18.00.

Alive Scan is also appointed by the CA Secretary of State as a notary public. Need a signature /​document notarized? Need a traveling loan signing agent in San Diego? We are experienced, professional and certified, plus we provide mobile notary services through San Diego!

Since many fingerprint applicants also require a passport photo for the purposes of identification, Alive Scan conveniently provides this passport photo service. In addition to US passport pictures, we can also print «ANY SIZE» photos in just 5 minutes, including — Canadian, Italian, UK foreign passport photos!

Hi, my name is Thomas Lamontagne and I am the owner and operator of Alive Scan. My mission is to provide San Diego residents a friendly, professional and convenient service. Alive Scan’s fingerprint, notary & passport photos San Diego location is in Pacific Beach 92 109. I also offer mobile live scan & ink fingerprinting services throughout San Diego. My track record for successful livescan fingerprint submissions demonstrate my commitment to accuracy and quality service!

In addition, I am certified by the California Department of Justice to roll fingerprints and also certified by the California Secretary of State as a Notary Public. I am also a certified traveling notary loan signing agent in San Diego.

The employees, Tom and (I’m sorry I forgot her name) but they were just delightful. I was weary about coming here because I thought it was strange that everyone gave it a 5 star review but yes, they deserve it.
My fingerprints were rejected by the BBS the first time and I brought in my notice and Tom had no problem doing it all over again. And they’re just so kind, so quick, and personable. I know a lot of people who do fingerprints for various jobs so I definitely will be recommending them all to you!

I needed a FBI fingerprint card for a new job and Alive Scan was recommend to me. It was so easy. Tom was nice and very helpful on the phone. When I arrived Tom and another woman at the desk answered all my questions and were very helpful. Although there were a couple people ahead of me I was only in there for 10 minutes. They were fast but not rushing. I definitely recommend Alive Scan to anyone needing finger prints. I had a very pleasant experience.

This place is great! My boyfriend and I have been here twice for background checks, and Tom was so nice both times. We messed up the timing for the first round, so we came back again yesterday to re-​order the checks. Tom remembered us and was really accommodating. The first time I went, I got passport photos and the background check. The photo process was easy and he let me check them out and redo them, and the background check came back really quickly through the channeler service. This last time, we got the background checks again and I got my diploma notarized. All was fast and easy. We already are repeat customers, and I would definitely go back if we need Tom’s services again.

This was my first time to Alive scan. Tom had excellent customer service, a lot greater than any other photo printing company I’ve ever been to! My international passport pictures were printed to exact specifications within less than 3mins. With just a call, Tom advised me to come straight in, I drove a little out my way to come here and it was worth the drive, I was seen right away! Pricing was very competitive I even got extras for just a dollar! I will never get pictures printed anywhere else EVER! I highly recommend Alive Scan to all my friends and family. Thank you Tom.

I’ve been here twice now and will continue to go back to Tom for my live scan fingerprints. I had a terrible experience in San Francisco at a post office offering live scan which resulted in poor quality prints and rejection from the FBI. I Unilocaled Alive Scan and was able to get a same-​day appointment, though walk-​ins are accepted. Alive Scan took their time with getting my prints and re-​did a few that looked like they might be rejected. In addition, I thought I was going to have to pay the 60 $ again but Tom called the live scan number, and asked if I can re-​do my prints at his location due to the poor quality rejection. He only charged the rolling fee and saved me about $ 60! Within a 72 hours, my licensing board called to say that the FBI approved the second set from Alive Scan. That’s why I went back the second time!

My husband and I are preparing to go teach abroad in S. Korea since last year which means we needed to get our FBI background check done. Long story short, we got our set of prints done last year, but the FBI rejected my prints because the reading was too low :(I had been working on my moms farm so they completely wore down. Today when we visited Tom again, I explained the situation and he didn’t charge me for the second set of prints! Which is totally awesome and unexpected!
Another major bonus the cost of getting the fingerprints done here at Alive Scan is VERY cheap than most places around San Diego county.
I highly recommend Tom and the wonderful service he provides!

This business was EXTREMELY helpful is assisting me with the required live scan fingerprinting for the California Bar Exam. Being that I am in the midst of studying long hours to learn the material, I was able to get in and out of the office very quickly and felt that the matter was handled very professionally and painlessly (which is huge if you need to get things done quickly and efficiently)
