Downtown Tattoo Parlour is located @ 935 E street in downtown San Diego’s east village, next to Pokez mexican restaurant. With an emphasis on the time-​honored traditions of classic tattooing, our shop is a friendly, clean, and visually stimulating environment where good-​looking, solid tattoos are available for a very reasonable price. From American traditional to Japanese to fineline black and gray, we can address all the client’s needs. We are open from Tuesdays to Sunday from 12 o’clock noon until 8 o’clock in the evening.

Third person in my family to go see Matt and so glad I did! Absolutely love my cover up of my #8 that was supposed to be an infinity symbol with a new Mandala flower with incredible colors. Matt is great at his job and fun to talk to — overall very happy!

My best friend who lives in town recommended me to this gem. Mr. Mustang did an amazing job! Truly a great personality. Located directly downtown next to Pokez Mexican Restaurant in San Diego. He told me to come back if I ever needed any touch up. I don’t live in town I let him know. He said if I ever need a touch up and am in town to stop in anytime.

Went in knowing I just had to have another tattoo and looked at some of Matt’s work and New he was the guy. Told him what I wanted and described what I wanted done for the background and the stylistic approach that I wanted. He delivered to the exact specifications. Just had a great experience at Apogee. y best friend and I had wanted matching tattoos to commemorate finishing the Nike Womens Marathon in San Francisco. They created exactly what we wanted– the Golden Gate Bridge with 26.2 in script. We love them! Apogee was friendly, professional, clean, and fast! I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a tattoo in Downtown San Diego.

Returned for color: Matt, once again did an amazing job at finishing this up. I wanted to wait until the tattoo was completely healed to write the second part of this review.
It’s been a month and the color still looks amazing. The tattoo coloring is bright and it still looks just as beautiful as it did before. The healing process was very smooth, there were no areas that needed extra care because Matts hand is steady and consistent.
I have decided that this will be the only person I let tattoo me because Matts work is flawless. Thank you again for doing such an amazing job and making this a very comfortable experience.

went to matt for my latest tattoo. talented, patient and a cool dude who nailed exactly what i was looking for. he had a great ‘touch,’ which is helpful when you’re getting close to the armpit /​inside arm. three days later and it’s healing up nicely.

My cousin and I were visiting San Diego and decided to bite the bullet and get our first tattoo. I had wanted a Superman S for awhile and decided on the redesigned S from Man of Steel. A couple of the guys looked a little nervous because of the details but Sam took up the challenge. Sam took up the challenge and did an awesome job. I highly recommend this place and Sam. Sam is awesomely talented! If your in the San Diego area and are thinking about a tattoo definitely check it out. My cousin had Raymond and he did a good job on her tattoo. I love in Arizona but Sam did such a great job I plan on returning to Apogee for my next tattoo!

I went to Apogee to get a Tattoo for valentines day. Matthew Manroe was the artist I went with after talking with him and listening to his ideas. The tattoo came out way better then I hoped for. Matthew Manroe is a great up incoming tattoo artist. The vibe at the shop is very customer friendly. I recently went back for another tattoo of my daughters name and Again Matthew Manroe did a great job on it. Planning on getting lost more work done by him.

Sam & Matt are really cool dudes and we had a great experience with them! I had a friend visiting from Europe and we’d decided to get matching tattoos when she got here. She had been corresponding via email with Matt and he was super friendly and helpful, and even remembered us and our idea weeks later when we called him up to come in. They were really helpful with suggesting better suited placement for our ideas and it worked out great, we love them! The lettering on my tattoo is so ridiculously crisp and perfect, it almost looks fake (in a good way!)! Matt made sure to tell me to come in anytime I want for a touch up if I ever need one. Thanks again, guys! You helped make my friend’s first visit to America really special for us both!

We were in San Diego for our honeymoon & my husband decided to look around to get a tattoo done. We first saw another shop around the corner from here & Pokez, but I didn’t like the guy’s attitude, plus he didn’t even have his books in the place for us to check out his work.
So we saw Apogee & my husband spoke to Sam & we loved the clean look of his work. He was very nice & cool around. He drew out a map of directions where I could find a place to get boba & had good penmanship. My husband is very pleased with his tattoo & said if he gets any more he would go the distance to have it done by Sam again.

After having some pretty screwed up outlines for 2 years (from the now closed «Above All Tattoo» in Hillcrest) I came in here and Sam fixed and improved my tattoos SO much! I’m now 120% satisfied with how amazing the colors turned out and how detailed everything is. I came back for more and took my boyfriend to get his tattoo cherry popped, he loved it! I will DEFINETLY come back for my future tattoos because not only does Sam do an AMAZING job everytime, but he is also an AWESOME dude and super creative :)
