Description

Specialties

We offer traditional Sivananda Yoga, Massage and Reiki Healing in Ocean Beach, San Diego. We are passionate about providing a supportive space where students can immerse themselves in the Yogic lifestyle through Asana, Meditation, Pranayama and Indian Cooking classes.

We keep our class sizes intentionally small to keep with the integrity of ancient Yogic teachings and to allow for individual attention and guidance as students develop and deepen their Yoga practice — physically, mentally and spiritually. Our classes range from Therapeutic to Advanced and always end with an opportunity to chat with teachers and classmates over cup of Indian Chai.

In addition to Yoga we offer Massage — Deep Tissue, Ayurvedic, Pregnancy and Thai — and Reiki Healing led by experienced teachers and practitioners.

About Himanshu:

Himanshu is a Holistic Health Practitioner, a Massage Therapist, and a second generation Teacher of Yoga & Meditation.

Himanshu was born in India, in a small town in the Northern region, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Himanshu’s journey in Yoga began when he was 8 years old. He used to watch his father, Prakash Chand Kapoor, his role model, practice Asanas (yoga poses), Kriyas (yogic Cleansing techniques) and Meditation. He would often join his father in his practices. In the 1980’s he moved to New Delhi, the capital of India, which brought huge changes in his life. Himanshu was introduced to the Sivananda Yoga Center and slowly fell in love with the Sivananda Tradition of Yoga.

He started volunteering time at the center; teaching Asana Class, leading Satsangs, running the front desk, cooking, and cleaning.

He dreams of someday moving to Hawaii and creating a Sivanada, mind body and spirit, oasis experience. He loves his life, loves his friends.
