Specialties
Athens Market Café prepares authentic Greek food. Our traditional specialties include Moussaka, Spanakopita, Dolmathes, Pastitso, Baklava & more. We serve only the finest, and more expensive higher quality, uniformly sliced gyros meat. Our high quality gyros meat is not packed with fillers and as with ALL gyros, it is delivered from the meat company in a frozen state. Neither pre-sliced gyros meat or post-sliced meat on a cone is good or bad; customers may simply prefer one over the other. We have many loyal customers who prefer our Gyros meat to others in the area for its fine quality and consistency. Customers preferring gyros sliced off of a cone are urged to try one of the other authentic Greek dishes that we prepare in our kitchen. Many of our customers enjoy starting their meal with flaming Saganaki (oppah!) and a glass of Greek wine.

Established in 1994.

They were also named California Small Business of the Year and San Diego North Chamber of Commerce: Small Business of the Year.

Nick and Vicki A.
Business Owner
Athens Market Café is a hands-on family business where it is rare to not find at least one family member hard at work. Whether it’s Vickie cooking up a storm, preparing meals in the kitchen, or Nick peeking his head out to help in the dining room while running the operations behind the scenes… one of them are usually there. It is not unusual to find their children, Angie and John, along with the rest of the wait staff eagerly serving guests great home style Greek food.
