History

Established in 2005.

Started as an Employment Law firm in 2002 and became a corporation in 2005. We have always served both Employers and Employees. Knowing both sides of the law helps us to get the best results for our clients.

Employment Law is our Specialty, and we are passionate advocates for both employer and employee rights throughout California. Our experienced employment law attorneys handle many types of employment claims, including: wage & hour, discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, wrongful termination, FMLA, CFRA, class actions, federal court, California state courts, labor commission hearings, unemployment hearings, administrative hearings, etc. We also give advice to businesses of any size and provide training to their employees. We handle severance package negotiations too.

Business Owner

I lead the employee division of the firm. I litigate in both state and federal courts. I have represented many lead plaintiffs in class action litigation when an employer’s conduct has harmed many employees. I also file suit for deserving employees who only have their own legitimate employment claims.

Backstrom & Heinrichs represents both employees and employers, and I am no exception. I help employers navigate the complex world of California employment law. I strongly believe that I can more effectively represent clients because I handle matters for employees and employers. Understanding both sides strengthens our understanding of the law and helps us solve problems.

Before enrolling in law school in 1988, I served my country as a United State Marine Corps artillery officer. Before joining the Marines, I grew up in Indiana and attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville Indiana.
