Balboa Pharmacy

HORRIBLE SEVICE! Balboa Pharmacy has an abundant supply of medical equipment such as slings, wraps, joint support, etc. My husband and I struggled to figure out how to put on several complicated shoulder supports. We are both physically challenged. Three employees were present and business was slow. NOT ONE of them offered assistance although I was obviously tangled up in Velcro and clips. This went on for 30 minutes. Unless you are able-​bodied (in which case you wouldn’t need assistive devices) don’t waste your time.

I ALWAYS have issues filling my Rx at CVS and wind up paying out of pocket. brought it here and they filled it within minutes! They know how to submit correctly to insurance and made it happen.

Mom has been using Balboa Pharmacy for more than a few years now. She & I both find their service, delivery, professionalism, availability & care just way above the norm & awesome.
And hats off specially to Ms. Ladan & Dr. Babak. Not sure what all the single star ratings below are about, but in my world, they are 5 Star PLUS :). Thank you guys.

My five stars is exactly that! This is the only pharmacy that could get this new medication that I had been started on. The drive for me would have been well over 35 miles. They delivered it! Can’t say enough about their customer service. Sorry for all the other people that did not get such service.

I’ve been going there for 33 plus yrs. new the owner & his child ftom having 2 boys of my boy of my own. Was always at this pharmacy for one reason or another. My boys were very active, in every sport so that meant a lot of injuries, plus there illnesses.
Igot allmy meds there to. Boys grew up, had a daughter & same thing for all illnesses & still my meds, too. Father/​owner no longer there yet the professionolism and employees have taken very good care of us. Always polite and concerned. NEVER HAVE I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE AT BALBOA PHARMACY. I still go there. They are the best.

I have to agree with everyone else… the customer service here is just awful. I try to support mom and pops, so I have given this place several chances. Poor service every time. Today was the last straw, though. My dr. called in a prescription yesterday. When I walked in this afternoon, it hadn’t been filled. The lady behind the counter said they’d do it now, it’d just be a few minutes. 25 minutes later, I found out that they hadn’t even bothered to start working on it yet. There were at least 4 people working back there (I saw 4, but heard more voices, so there may have been more) and I was the only customer in the whole store. I am sure they are only still in business because 1. they are a compounding pharmacy, and there aren’t that many compounding pharmacies around.

i went today to buy compressed socks but the blond lady was very rude and very unfriendly .I asked her for help or some Information, she answered to me what, what and very bad and rude .i don’t recommend to any person to go there.

Went there today to get some pills, the blond lady answered in a very rude way, I walked out almost crying.
People, please, ignore this place, not worth your time or money. I hope it closes up soon.

I must agree with other Unilocalers that this place is terrible! Excruciatingly poor customer service. They actually try to ignore customers. Prices are waaaay marked up. Merchandise is disorganized and scattered on hooks, shelves, and the floor. Seems like the people working there are overworked and underpaid so they don’t give a crap. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait. I’m amazed these guys are in business. Good luck with the parking too!

Probably only still in business because they are on the ground floor of a medical building with lots of doctors’ offices. I walked in after my appointment thinking, «Oh this’ll be an easy place to pick up some Epsom salts.» Boy was I wrong – was ignored by about five employees busily doing anything but providing service to their one customer until I finally started to walk out in disgust. At that point someone noticed and asked if they could help me so I asked about the Epsom salts. She glumly led me to the row I’d already examined and picked up a milk carton about the size they give to elementary school kids in the lunchroom. The price for this tiny container that doesn’t contain enough salt for even a single bath? $ 2.19. I walked out, saw a Rite-​Aid in the same shopping center, and was immediately directed to aisle 14 where I found a 6 lb bag of MgSO4 for $ 5.99. Um, yeah, that’s about 12 times as much Epsom salt, or more. Don’t waste your time at Balboa Pharmacy.

Customer Service poor — reads you rules
Had to rent a wheelchair due to broken leg. Sent my 22 yr old niece out to get for me on a Saturday. Brought it back, it was too narrow for me to use, needed a wider one. Called back at 2:50pm, said we could be there by 3:05pm to return. Nope, they close promptly at 3pm and they wouldn’t wait.

Tried explaining circumstances on Monday, got same attitude if we rented it for a minute or a day it was the same. And told us to read the receipt it was our contract.
