Established in 1978.

Balloon Guru started out as Balloonatics, the number one company in San Diego since 1978. Over the years, we have enjoyed meeting and working with most of the Major Hotels, Venues, and Institutions that make this city great. Last year, balloonatics merged with its sister company Balloon Guru, and we couldn’t be happier to join the two best teams as one! We take pride in our customer service, and are an A+ accredited member of the Better Business Bureau. We are available for small parties and major events alike. Wonderful! We had our wedding back in October and ordered 2 giant balloons for some photos. I was the bride so I couldn’t pick up the balloons myself, but Robert was totally understanding and very clear about where to send my friend, what time, and how big her car should be. She arrived to our venue right on time, balloons PERFECT, in tact and the exact color we wanted. Customer service was awesome and the price was great, too! Thank you guys again!

Robert was absolutely a pleasure to work with! This guy knows his stuff without a doubt and I will be recommending him to all friends, coleagues, and family who are looking for a balloon project big or small. I needed Balloon Guru’s services last minute for a huge event at my work. We needed 4 balloon arches and 6 balloon columns. Richard made what was going to be something very stressful very very easy. I told him what we were looking for concept wise and he came up with the color scheme! It was a perfect match for our event.
Not only was working with Robert a breeze and placing an order was no big deal, the day of set-​up was just as easy as well! Robert sent William to come on site the day of the event to build everything we needed. He was quick, efficient, friendly and professional. Not only was I impressed, but other people noticed his hard and quick work as well.
I cannot recommend Balloon Guru more! You will not regret your decision!

We totally love the Sesame Street theme balloon bouquet created by Balloon Guru!
On the morning of my 3 year old niece’s birthday, I called and left a message at Balloon Guru’s number and shortly 20 minutes later, Robert called back and although he and his team were experiencing a very busy day, Robert was very professional, friendly and very clear in answering all my questions and describing and setting expectations on types of balloon bouquet arrangements, pricing and delivery time. Robert was accommodating and expeditious in taking my requests and noted all my preferences for our customized bouquet.
Balloon Guru delivered the bouquet in the late afternoon as promised and the bouquet was customized exactly as I requested and look so much better than I had hoped!
It’s wonderful seeing my niece totally enjoying the Sesame Street character and Ballon Guru’s creative design balloons!
Thank you very much Robert for an exceptional job well executed and delivered!

The Balloon Guru is the best! I’m looking forward to some Columbus day fun and Halloween costumes balloons and scary fun for Halloween the balloon guru’s Halloween balloons are pretty darn amazing from what I’ve heard. I never got a chance to thank you for the most amazing valentines day balloons. This beat the flower arrangement I got my girlfriend and the valentines chocolates. If you want to think outside the box for the holidays, graduations Bar Mitzvah Christmas Easter Day of the Dead Dia de los Muertos I would highly recommend trying a unique balloon arrangement. There’s a new idea for you Robert, I would love to see an amazing Day of the Dead arrangement! Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to some Columbus Day fun balloons for the kids and even more for Halloween!

Robert was super helpful — responded to emails quickly, provided clear and straightforward estimates, even helped me figure out how much a balloon of a given size could lift. It turned out that, for what I was planning on using the balloons for, the price for large enough balloons was unfeasible for me (I’m a grad student and this was for an April Fools’ prank) but I really want to give this place props on their customer service.
If you have a large event that you are hoping to get balloons for and you have a budget that isn’t constrained by your grad student salary, definitely buy from these folks. :)

Perfection! From phone call to delivery was under 3 hours. With minimal instruction and just a few details Robert pulled off magic and had a 10yr old at Rady’s up and out of his bed for the first time in days. What more could anyone ask for? WELL DONE!

Definitely our go to stop for one of kind & hard to find impressive quality balloons!
I needed a large 36″ round balloons for an event I had this past weekend in Mira Mesa. They were able to complete my order having everything ready for the next morning. When I picked up my balloons I was nicely greeted by the owner with our balloons willing to help me load my balloons to my car. I was so impressed with my order, exactly what I wanted!
Unfortunately they did no fit in my car, OH NO! So I asked if I could come back for them and they offered to drive them to my event. The sweetest gesture. I was so appreciative they did this for me. Best customer service I could ask.
The balloons were a huge hit at the event! The kids were in awe and had a blast. So many people asked where I got them and of course I said with all confidence you have to check out Balloon Guru in Mira Mesa he has it all.

Hands down, nicest vendor I worked with for my wedding. Even my dad who is perhaps not as easily won over by people as I am, said immediately after talking to Robert, «He is the nicest guy!» Not only that, but his rates are extremely affordable, and he was very flexible when our reception hall (see my review Hyatt Regency) changed the setup time on us last minute.
The balloons looked good and floated all night, so they met my requirements for balloons. :-) If you need balloons for anything, call the guru!

Ordered balloons for my daughters Bat Mitzvah reception in downtown San Diego. Robert was quick to get back to me, inexpensive compared to other quotes, and did an absolutely fantastic job. I wasn’t even around when he set up the room, I did not know what the bouquets would look like, I just told him our color scheme and the party theme and I was truly impressed by what he created. Most balloon orders are for happy occasions, but when my best friend’s dad passed away, she called me (as I was on my way to the funeral!) and asked if I could get 50 white balloons somehow. I made it a mission, and the Balloon Guru made my job easy.
After I placed the order (with 2 hours notice) and made life pretty difficult for the Guru, I then had to cancel because the cemetery basically cut short our service and we had to leave. After cancelling, I then called the guru — voicemail. Oh well, I thought — it was worth a try. Then the guru called me back! He willingly agreed to deliver to a new address.
To make a long story short, the balloon guru and his team exhibited the kind of customer service you really don’t see any more. They were SO friendly and accommodating. The balloons were beautiful (we let them up in the sky back at the cemetery in memory). Most of all, my best friend was so touched that I (or rather, the guru) pulled it off. If only every business was so good at what they do.
