Delicious icecream! So much to choose from. The worker at the time was very sweet and nice her name was Kristin I believe, she had blue hair and was all around a sweet girl. Will be coming back next time I decide I want some icecream!

We pre-​ordered a birthday cake for my daughters 9^th birthday. We brought it home and there was a hair in it. They had the nerve to tell us it wasn’t from them and made us feel like it was our fault. Our daughter is standing there disappointed and basically it will take 24 hours for a new one. Her birthday is today. Of course no refund so we had to get a pre made cake. It was handled horrible and after getting all our cakes there for the past 3 years we will never return.

This place is always sooooooooo slow but today was the worse! These young girls who they have working are lacking customer service training of any sort. It isn’t that they’re rude it’s just they aren’t friendly what so ever. Today there was about 5 people inside and no acknowledgement when we walked in not to mention the chick working walked like a turtle in extra slow motion. They don’t ever seem to care about the customers who walk in. We waited for over 5 minutes and no acknowledgement so we left. Unfortunately I do like ice cream and this is all that’s near so maybe I’ll be back.

The servers always greet you with a smile and seem to enjoy working here. I had the privilege of witnessing one of the workers buying a homeless man that entered the store a one scoop of chocolate ice cream. He was so happy and grateful for her selfless gesture. He exclaimed with joy that she had just bought him his most favorite ice cream flavor, And said how nice she was.
It’s good to see people go out of the way to make someone night. I wish I knew her name to give her the credit she deserves.

Local Baskin Robbins ice cream store. I love this place but it is hit and miss. Usually they are very polite and will attend to you quickly. However some times service is not so great. Today when I asked for a certain ice cream they gave me something else. When I stated that it wasn’t what I asked for the girl at the counter argued with me– I wanted regular chocolate and she gave me chocolate, chocolate chip. When I asked for just the reg chocolate she said that it was… Then told me they were out of reg chocolate. I can tell if something has big chunks of chocolate or not lol.

My kids love this place. It’s much better than Dairy Queen as it has real ice cream. The only drawback is that when I take them there, after I pick them up from school, the place is crowded with other kids from school but they only have one person working there. Thus, the line can get very long as well as the wait. One would think that they would know this and plan accordingly???

It is as I expected it to be. Lots of flavors, clean, and the staff was friendly. Perhaps due to my tastes more than their recipes, I find B&R ice cream overly sweet. It’s hard for me to eat a single scoop without my wanting to throw it away halfway through.

*Update* Manager reached out and was very polite and understanding. The issue below hopefully won’t be so common moving forward.
Repeatedly poorly hand-​packed quarts of ice cream. Out of 5 – 6 times of getting a hard to find seasonal flavor, there was only one employee who actually did a good job hand packing the quart, and I saw her do something I’ve never seen the other 2 employees there do, which was weighing the quart on a scale, and going back to add more ice cream when I guess the scale showed it weighed less than it should.
The last and final time here an employee packed the quart so that it looked full, but when I got home and started to scoop out the ice cream for myself and others, it amounted to just around 2 cups worth, it was incredibly hollow and disappointing. So if you get anything hand packed, be sure they actually use the scale as that seems to be only way to get the amount of ice cream you’re paying for.

This location seems to be the only Baskin Robbins around San Diego that I know of that carries the seasonal cotton candy ice cream — my favourite! My boyfriend and I frequently come here to get the hand packed quart of this ice cream to share during summer months. This place would warrant a 5 stars review if the workers weren’t so incompetent, and are trained to pack the quart fully. Out of 5 – 6 times we’ve purchased from here, only 1 was well-​packed and weighed properly. My boyfriend wrote an e-​mail to upper management, however, and they were kind enough to make things right for us.

Small and clean. The few times I have been there, I only saw one person behind the counter, so it can get pretty backed up on busy days.
The employees are always polite, but you never get a welcoming feeling… lol
I almost felt like we needed to get our stuff and leave.
Wednesdays are BOGO days… buy one 2 scoop sundae and get the other one free! LOVE!

I love their Cappuccino blast made with jamoca ice cream. It’s so fatty and so good. Nom nom nom

Freezers not working properly at this store. Ice cream was so soft, it barely held its shape. I would not return to this location until they fix their freezers!

After lunch, I stopped in for a quick dessert and tried one of their ice cream flavors I have never had, the Nutty Coconut on a sugar cone. The ice cream was much better than I expected and came filled with crunchy nuts (
). The flavor of the coconut came threw with flying colors and the ice cream was very creamy and delicious. I was happy that the sugar cone underneath remained crunchy and held up well to the ice cream (
).
The young lady who served me was very nice and provided pleasant conversation. The store was very clean and organized, and the had a number of good looking signature ice cream cakes available.

I stopped in the day before Father’s Day to pick up an ice cream cake for my family. I was able to find the flavor I wanted already made in their freezer and brought it home. We cut into it in the evening on Father’s Day (the kids were so looking forward to it!) Two separate slices had strands of hair found in the layers. It was so disgusting we threw them all out and contacted the store. Still waiting to hear back from the store manager, but also contacted the corporate office.
I usually do not go to this store, but it is a convenient location near the grocery store. On a separate visit prior to this one, I had taken my kids in for a treat one afternoon and they were out of every flavor we went in for. Apparently they were waiting on more inventory, so they asked if we wanted to come back later and they should have more flavors in. Of course, I was not leaving to come back and see if they have anything, so we settled on what was there.
Finding multiple strands of hair throughout the cake is what really did it though. That is just nasty!!! I took several photos to send to the powers that be.

Sometimes the place smells funny… maybe that’s a sign… but I love ice cream and it’s close to my house. LOL

About a month ago, we were dying for ice cream. Baskin Robbins is our old standby, but the location on balboa has closed temporarily. Decided to give this location a shot.
Ice cream flavor choices seemed small compared to what Balboa always used to have. Decided to do a 31 below with Heath bar. Unfortunately, the Heath bar was old, stale and chewy instead of flavorful and crunchy. So disappointed. It went into the trash as soon as I walked in the door.
My daughter likes her mint chip shake fine. My sons Oreo sundae went down well. But having stale ingredients is just bad!

If I could give the place 0 stars, I would.
I had the worse customer service experience with this store. A birthday cake served at a party today was not at all edible. Frosting of cake tasted like glue/​chalk/​wax — all descriptions from party participants today.
Was told to bring cake back to store, which we did. No remedy other that «that’s all I can do». Told no refund, no exchange due to the fact the cake was cut into (tell me how else would one know if the cake is inedible other than to score and serve? No logical sense with that explanation, people!) Asked to exchange cake — was flatly refused. To make matters worse, we were told the owner did not want to speak to me and store manager would return a call at her convenience. (She wasn’t answering her phone per the store employee).
There are so many other cakery options in San Diego. Please. Save yourself time and headache by taking your business elsewhere.

This is the BEST Baskin Robbins in San Diego!!! Seriously, every time that I come to this store, I am taken care of by a staff that is smiling, patient, and eager to help! Jolene is especially wonderful and really shows kind appreciation for the customers and makes sure that they are satisfied! I love the deals that they have during the week and the frequency cards that «regulars» like me are thankful to have!

I went here to pick up a birthday ice cream cake and the service alone was awesome. She helped me out and seemed to go above and beyond to check for more cakes in the back without me asking. The ice cream cake was delicious, too. I would definitely come here again for my ice cream needs.

We have picked up ice cream cakes from here on various occasions in the past. I stopped by today just to pick up a little one for my daughter’s first birthday (since her official big cake and party is not until the weekend) and we wanted to have a little something to celebrate today first. I was actually pretty impressed with the selection. They actually had some pretty creatively decorated cakes. Much more creative than what I had remember them offering in the past. I went for a very small safari themed cake… said it would serve 2−4… cost $ 14.99. Unfortunately, a coupon wouldn’t work on a lower priced cake. oh wells.
Anyways… took the cake home and it was soo cute! Even had candles included on it already. Thanks! We were actually able to cut enough small slices for about 8 of us to enjoy. Got the Oreo Ice Cream with Chocolate cake. It was pretty good! The frosting on the outside is not extraordinary, and actually too sweet for my taste… but the ice cream itself and the cake part was good.
Overall, when we are looking for an ice cream cake, our first thought goes to BR. I actually happened to be at the Dairy Queen down the street last week and peaked at their cakes and they definitely didn’t look as good as BR. Whenever we pick up a BR cake, its never pre-​ordered, we just pick from whatever is already available in the freezer there… and so far, its always been a good selection and positive experience.
