Katie is a stylist with over 4 years experience. She specializes in Coloring, Cutting and curly hair. As a Goldwell Color stylist she prides herself on continuing education. She believes listening to her clients and understanding their needs combined with open communication is of the highest importance. She is dedicated to providing color services that will maintain the integrity of the hair while achieving beautiful, long lasting results. Katie recognizes the importance of a stress relieving experience in the salon which is why she is constantly striving to perfect her extensive scalp massage. In addition to hair Coloring and Cutting, she also specializes in Keratin Treatments, Perms and Chemical Straightening. Katie is also very passionate about styling for weddings and photo shoots on location!

Katie did a fabulous job with my highlights! I described what I wanted, showed her some pictures and she did exactly that! She even did a mix of balayage and traditional highlights to give me my desired new look. I am very pleased with her work and I’ll be back to see her again.

I used to get my hair cut at Paul Mitchell and couldn’t deal with the 3 hour haircuts anymore so I switched to a place in Mission Hills called Salon Ink. I got my hair colored twice there and it was no good. Wrong color and my hair felt like straw. Totally destroyed. Then I went off birth control and my hair started falling out by the fistfull. This is when I first came to Katie. She has cut my hair 3 times now and it is looking great again. This last week she colored it back to my normal shade. I was nervous because of the last 2 times, but she used some stuff mixed in with the dye…(cant remember what it’s called) and now my hair feels AMAZING. So soft. I cant really believe it actually. It costs an extra $ 30 but is worth every penny. Katie is super sweet and fun to talk to but doesnt try to force any conversation which I always appreciate. And she gives the best neck massages. I will never go to anyone else ever again!!!

I had to find a new hair stylist after being with the same one for about 12 years. On a recommendation, I luckily found Katie. She was great! The first time we met she was very sensitive to what I wanted to do with my hair and obviously listened. My color and cut were perfect. I went to her again and she started adding highlights. When she moved to Lighthouse in North Park I followed her there and see her every few weeks. She’s very sweet, gives me exactly what I want, gives me her opinions about what can be done differently, and produces excellent results. I look forward to continuing to go to her.

Reasons why Katie will forever be maintaining my mop:
1– She understands what I want, even when I don’t know what I want. She asks the right questions to fully understand my vague directions like: ‘blonde, but not too blonde’ and ‘an ombré– but so subtle you can’t tell it’s an ombré’.
2– Her blow outs are quick, smooth and last for days. And I have curly/​kinky hair that is tough to manage and tougher to find other people that know how to manage.
3– Her head massages when she’s shampooing/​conditioning are unbelievable. She takes her time, massages your scalp, neck, ears, forehead… I’m getting relaxed just thinking about it.
4– The time flies in her chair b/​c she’s so easy to talk to and down to earth.

Katie is excellent! I’ve been going to her for over a year and I always leave happy. I was a little nervous about trying the Brazilian blowout, but she took the time to explain the process step by step and eased my mind. I couldn’t be happier! She has also done a few up-​dos for me. I brought in some photos and left the salon looking better than the pictures :)

Katie is a bit of a perfectionist, which is AWESOME when it comes to my hair. She is super sweet and is great to talk to while she’s working away. I’ve been to Katie a few times now and always come away super happy and loving my hair. It was difficult to leave my last stylist (she was fantastic, I hated the salon product… Enjoy, yuck!) but Katie has eased that pain and makes me glad I moved on.
Bonus: Katie gives the BEST head massages with her shampoos, it’s seriously incredible how strong her little fingers are.

I have tried several different barber shops, and none of them have done the trick. They never listen to what I have to say and my hair always comes out uneven. It is frustrating when this happens. Usually, I do not even notice this until I get home. Katie, however, did a great job on my hair. She took her time and made sure my hair was to my liking. She also mentioned that if I did not like it when I got home to come back in for a touch up. I am very happy that my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it!!!

I moved to SD from the east coast in 2010 and tried several stylists, but couldn’t find anyone of the same caliber as my stylist on the east coast until Katie. Katie really takes her time with your hair so your cut is consistent with your maintenance habits, regular styling and hair type. Katie gives beautiful, intricate haircuts and I find myself regularly being asked who cuts my hair. She’s also super sweet and great to chat with while she’s working her magic =). I definitely won’t let anyone but Katie touch my hair anytime soon!
