Very relaxing atmosphere with incredibly clean facilities. Kelly greeted us kindly and was very gracious showing us the fitness center as well as the spa. Very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The steam room and jacuzzi were very clean. Overall would recommend.

Color and curls by Coco… she is amazing! She’s been doing my hair for years and I always leave looking fabulous.

I just moved to San Diego recently and was looking for a hair-​stylist. Went on Unilocal to help me find the right place. Rabih Germany is amazing. He did a major makeover on me and I am very happy with the results. My color and cut I couldn’t ask for better results. I am so happy I feel into his hands. Very happy and prices are very reasonable. I truly feel I don’t need to look any further. He is the best.

First and foremost I will say Miriam is amaazing when it comes to facials! She applies the perfect amount of pressure, the experience was very relaxing and she is efficient and knowledgeable — she gets 5 stars BUT unfortunately, this facility and some of it’s customer service representatives have led me to give this a 1 star rating. Let me explain
If this site wants to charge over $ 120 for facials (which is ok) but your facility better be up to par.
1. Spa treats — typically spas offer nuts or small treats, tea options etc., Not this place. Lemon water (they dont even offer cucumber water as an additional option). They do have a basket with wax covered apples and an orange but not appealing and probably the cheap fruits sprayed by insecticides
2. Relaxation room chairs are not comfy
3. They offer shavers and thats about it. You cannot find a shower cap and when we asked for lotion, Mayra was rude. She said its in the facility somewhere. The thing is … I would not have asked if there was some available. Then when I had to ask her again, she finally gave in and gave me some lotion in a sample cup.
4. Another thing Mayra did that drive me nuts, while in the whirlpool, I had dimmed the lights in that area. since you can. She came in and turned them up full blast! Ok so the main problem I think we had was with Mayra because they somehow skipped customer service training for her but at any rate, it really ruined my experience and I wont be going here again.
5. Other random things — there was a SPIDER in the shower. Rest his soul — I had to kill the big guy but he was big!
6. The robes are just too big — I felt like a linebacker. I get it, yes, most spas have these thick robes but these are really heavy and not that comfy.
If you are a local and want to go to a hotel type spa — you should either got to Spa Aquazul or Kin Spa at the Hyatt. Again, this location I DO NOT APPROVE and Mayra is terrible for business!

Went to the day spa here to get a massage and have a «spa day» thinking I was going to get pampered, you know treated like you should at a spa. However the staff did not want to serve me at all. Got out of my massage (which at least the lady who gave me a massage was nice) and went to join my friends for lunch I asked one of the girls at the front desk for a menu and she said «yea but I think they’re about to close» and then looked at the menu and said «oh never mind you’re good». Then nobody came to take my order which is fine but then I asked what looked like the manager who I should ask to take my order and he basically said «I guess I will». I ordered a Bloody Mary and he asked for my ID (I’m at a spa in a robe with my wallet in my locker) but I get my ID not a problem but then he doesn’t even bring me the Bloody Mary. I paid for it and didn’t complain I don’t want to be rude but this is a spa where people come to relax, experience luxury and get pampered for the day and the staff here in no way treated me like I was paying full price for this massage or food. I would never recommend this place to anyone else or return, not trying to be rude just my honest opinion. I would never expect to pay 150.00 for a massage and food to get treated like that.

This review is for Takako, hair stylist. I had my hair cut by her a few times with wonderful results. She is a polite, honest and cheerful lady with great skills. Each time, she listens carefully and completely gets what I want and makes it happen in a much better way than I had imagined. She has such a good grasp on the hair type and condition that it’d always get significantly easier to take care of my hair and to keep the style for a long while after I saw her. I have received so many compliments about hair because of her. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Tranquil, well appointed without being too pretentious, but mostly, I always have great service. I’ve never had a bad massage, facial or experience. The best day spa in San Diego!

Review on the spa — massage and facial.
The facility itself is very nice but the staff and services were only subpar. Your money could be better spent elsewhere.
The details– I came here with a friend as a birthday gift. We got there an hour early so we could utilize the sauna and steam room before our massages. They confirmed my 230 massage and 330 facial appts and hers was vice verse starting with a 230 facial then massage.
It’s 130 and we’re sitting in the sauna and a masseuse comes back asking for me. I’m confused bc we made 230 appts and why only asking for me?
We tried to explain to her our appts were not until 230 and we wanted to go at same time so we could relax together before appts. She went to the front desk but they said this is how it has to work now. So I went to my appt first while my friend had to sit and wait by herself for an hour until her appt. then I waited an hour by myself at the end. Needless to say we didn’t get to hang out together at all which was disappointing to start with.
By the time the confusion was over and I went back it was 145pm and I was cut 15 min off my hour even though it was their own confusion that caused the late start. The massage was ok. She wasn’t very pleasant but descent service. Next was my facial. Awkward. She was nice but I never knew what kind of lotion or mask she was putting on. She put something on then just sat there still for 5 min then decided to start massaging my body while waiting for mask to dry. This happened a few times. Which is why it was so awkward. I’m not a big fan of facials and she definitely didn’t help.
All together I would never recommend this spa because for the price I’d expect better service and hospitality.

I’ve never been here during «business hours» so I can only speak to the fantasticness that is Maya in the salon! She is so super friendly and knows just what I need. The first time I came in was after this whole debacle at Marinello (yes I know, shame on me for thinking I could save $ on some highlights). I told her I wanted some color and needed a cut. She asked if I wanted a noticeable difference and I told her I wanted it subtle, but a ‘Fall brown’ — she freaking nailed it! She treated me like one of the family and did a super great job!
So, don’t go taking up all her appointments, cause I need some time to gab and get looking fab!
On a side note, you do have to get your parking validated, and the spots directly in front of the salon are limited.

This review is for Rabhi Germany at Tosca Bella salon. I was in San Diego for a conference and on the second day, happened across a Unilocal review for Tosca Bella salon. Originally I was looking for a place to do a mani/​pedi but came across some reviews for Rabih Germany. The reviewers mentioned letting him have «control» and choosing color/​style suitable for the individual. Being the control freak that I am, I found the idea of letting someone cut/​color me from their perspective of me very exciting. Wow, I could actually «let go» and not think for a change?
I know. Hair is such a personal thing. But I jumped in and texted Rabih: 619−504−3885. Being an introvert, I of course chose not to call but texted to see if he had an opening. Not only did he have an opening, I could head his way in 20 minutes! Now, I was excited! I walked over from my hotel room and entered the salon. The place is spacious and has a fitness center and massage/​facial area. A friendly receptionist walked me to Rabih; it was already 5:30 PM so we were the only ones there and had the entire salon to ourselves. Rabihwas friendly and instantly I felt at ease. He looked at me hair (check out the before picture) and told me he’d take out the blonde highlights and would instead take me to a chocolate color with caramel highlights. He asked me how short would I go; I replied whatever he thought suitable for me. :-) We ended up doing the cut after the color and during the foiling process, got to know Rabhi and his experience with doing hair.
Needless to say, by the time my color was done, I was ready for my cut. Rabih cleaned up the layers and shortened the bushy back of my head so everything looks sleek and professional. The color was complimentary to my eyes and skin tone and once the cut was done, I felt like a new person! I have 5 children and 3 granddaughters and I am excited to return home to Hawaii with my new look. I will be watching the airfares to San Diego so I can return for a followup in a couple of months!

What a fiasco…
A few months I bought a gift card for my wife to take her friend and get a massage/​facial treatment together. She called for an appointment and was asked to give her credit card number to make sure she’d show up. It turns out they have only one person on staff, and she apparently calls in sick a lot, so when my wife arrived they told her to go away and come back another time.
Good thing they collected her credit card number for their own protection. Maybe collecting a telephone number would be a good idea too???
We found another date to make it work and showed up. It turns out my fantasy of a relaxing side-​by-​side friends experience was shattered by the single-​employee problem as well. Instead each of them got to wait in the lobby for an hour while the other one got their treatments. What great bonding time!!!
Prices were higher than published on the website, but the gift card was still sufficient to cover it. The treatment was described to me by my wife as «awkward and creepy».
First, the employee works in a weird silence. It felt like no talking was even allowed. Also, with cucumber slices over the eyes you can’t see what’s coming — so the hot towels and greasy stuff they are wiping all over your face is a complete surprise every time! A qualified person would explain what is going to happen, but this lady was just going through the motions.
My wife described it like a dental appointment — she was sitting in the chair hoping it would be over soon.
Look you go to a spa to feel refreshed and relaxed. I suppose one could argue there was «relief» in a way when my wife was finally able to get out of the spa room (you have to know the door-​code to get OUT).
Buyer beware…

The spa is very pretty and relaxing, but the service we received at check in made it difficult to relax. My masseuse even commented on it during my prenatal massage. The restaurant is under new management and I experienced a last minute cancellation for my baby shower that created an unnecessary problem for me when I needed to scramble last minute to find another restaurant for my baby shower.

I booked a girl’s day on the property for June 27^th back in May, with lunch at the restaurant and an afternoon at the spa for my baby shower. Two days before 8 of us were scheduled to come in for lunch I received a call that the restaurant is under new management and will be closed the day of my reservation. Two days notice is unacceptable — especially considering I made the reservation 2 months out. The gentleman who called me to ask if I would like to eat with my guests at the café even mentioned there was no note that we would be dining there for a baby shower. Which struck me as odd because I told the original reservation taker that’s what we would be there for and asked if it was ok if we brought our own dessert. It was explained to me the restaurant is under new management and it is now only open based on occupancy. Information like that would have been helpful a few weeks in advance considering how hard it is to get reservations at good restaurants in San Diego at the last minute.
Onto the spa. I was advised to call and book spa reservations at the beginning of June. I called, booked 2 massages at 2pm and 2 massages and a facial at 3pm. A week before, I was called to confirm — which I really appreciated. But, on the same day I got a call from the restaurant, about 3 hours later the spa called. A massage therapist wasnt available, and I was asked to come at 2:30 and they would push back our 3pm massages as well. They ask you to come about 15 min early to check in.
Imagine my shock and embarassment when we show up at 2:10pm, myself with 5 of my close friends to check in and are told we are late, and our services will be cut short. The woman who said this didnt take me aside, she announced it to the lobby from the end of the check in desk. She mentioned it several times, seeming flustered and exasperated that we were «late.» Thankfully everyone in the lobby were my friends, but I spent a lot of time arranging everything and it was still embarassing for me to be scolded like that. We went back to get our massages and in the room my masseuese kept asking that I relax and I was quietly tearing up because I felt so bad my friends wouldnt get their full massage and she made it look like I was to blame for this. The masseuse was very apologetic and assured me the miscommunication was on their end and everyone would get their time, so I finally relaxed and enjoyed the remainder of my massage.
The hot tub is large and my friends really enjoyed it, as well as the sauna and steam room. I am pregnant so wasnt able to get into them. And the rest of the staff was really friendly and attentive. But the spa manager with the bright blue eyes and blond hair needs to learn to be solution oriented and more professional.

I was looking for a good hair stylist in San Diego. I found Ms. Takako who is excellent at cutting and coloring. She is very polite and positive person. Price is a good. I’ll definitely go back there.

Maya is amazing! She’s super sweet and super easy to talk to and she makes you feel really comfortable. I totally trusted her and I’m definitely enjoying my new hairstyle. I got a trim with balayage color. She knows what she’s doing! I would definitely recommend her and would see her again :)

This review regards Stylist Rabih Germany. He is spectacular at what he does. He is my night in shining armor when it comes to my hair. Hair is an accessory, as my sister says, and he owns it.
I use to go to Super Cuts, etc. and finally had enough. The last encounter left me with a horrible cut & I needed it fixed ASAP. Mr. Germany fixed it wonderfully and I’ve «been with him» ever since and will never go to anyone else. It’s been 7 years.
It’s like finding that perfect mechanic, esthetician, or chiropractor. You try several and when you find the one you like, you can’t let go.
Mr. Germany has many International hair shows under his belt and owned his own salon in his native country of Lebanon. He has so much experience, you have nothing to worry about.
I’ve never done this before: I told him to do whatever he wanted to do. I’m so happy with what he did– Great Color w/​High & Low Lights with a cute, trendy cut.
I finally realized that he’s the expert, not me. Why am I telling him what to do? Why am I spending hours looking at cuts online when he already knows?
Sure, I can tell him what I like, but I can’t describe what he knows. He knows hair and I don’t. From now on, I’m letting him do whatever he wants because I’m 100% confident it will be great.
