Bella ray is the best salon I have ever been to. Ray is at a new location on Hornblend and the salon is really nice. Ray always does exactly what I want and it looks amazing every time. If you want a trim he will trim and not chop off your hair. Great prices for great services. The new location is 863 Hornblend st. San Diego. A friend referred me to Ray after going elsewhere having a horrible experience. Ray does great cuts and colors. I am very happy and continue to go back and refer friends!!!

My girlfriend and I have been coming to Ray since he moved to San Diego. He does a great job on my gf hair extensions and coloring it. As for me he always does a great job on giving me a nice up to date hair cut.

Finally I found my favorite hairdresser at his new location on hornblende street in Pacific beach. I love the new salon. Great haircut and great price!

My normal hairstylist referred me to a colleague of hers for my wedding. Due to large bridal party, we needed two stylists. Ray was pulled in for the job. I was unable to meet him at either of my hair trials, so I took my stylist’s word that Ray knew what he was doing. I was very happy that both stylists showed up on-​location right on time. 5 stars for that!
Things were going fine until one of my bridesmaids walked into my bedroom wearing what I can only describe as a «rat’s nest.» She asked Ray for a high bun, but Ray instead fashioned a mid-​height bun then tried to secure the hair higher with massive amounts of hair spray and pins. It looked absolutely terrible, and for the amount he was making off this job, I was surprised when he (in front of everyone) reprimanded by bridesmaid and demanded double the price if he had to re-​do her hair. Things turned into full-​on «diva» mode and I felt like Ray expected us to roll over and pay him even more money, despite the fact the whole mess resulted from a substandard style in the first place. It made EVERYONE feel so uncomfortable and shocked that this would happen before a wedding. Minus 4 stars.
Luckily, my friend was very tactful and worked something out with Ray. Once her hair was washed and re-​styled, it looked beautiful. Add 1.5 stars.
I could not bring myself to round 2.5 stars up to 3 stars, due to the sheer lack of professionalism we experienced the morning of my wedding (from Ray, not my stylist). While someone can be fantastic in a salon, they may not be capable of handling stress associated with a bridal party. Unfortunately for Ray, in my experience, this was the case.
