Benjamin Carter – New American Funding

When my wife and I decided we were finally ready to buy a house, we had no idea how to start. I picked Benjamin as our broker based on his Unilocal reviews, so I feel I should leave one of my own. He deserves every star given to him on Unilocal.We were so intimidated by the whole process of buying a home that we thought is would never happen, and it’s now been a month and a half after our first meeting with Benjamin, we closed escrow 5 days ago. He told us exactly what was going to happen at our first meeting, and everything happened exactly like he said. There were no surprises, no worries. He answered every phone call, every text, and every e-​mail immediately and accurately. His first question was what would we feel comfortable paying. He wasn’t interested in putting us into the most expensive house we could afford, he really wanted us to enjoy the house after we found it, and didn’t care how long we took to find it. He was friendly, easy going, honest, helpful, never pushy, and I would recommend him to anyone looking to finance a home.

Benjamin was an amazing agent. He was very knowledgeable in everything we needed to know throughout the home lending process and very patient with the questions we had. He was great at explaining multiple scenarios as we were making decisions, and never pressured us into making a choice. It was quite seamless for such a big life decision. I would highly recommend working with Benjamin Carter. He’s an outstanding individual.

Ben did an amazing job walking me through the process of financing my first home. He had an answer for every question I had and kept everyone in the process (realtors, escrow agents, lender) aware of what was going on. Benjamin assisted My Wife and I when we were issued a notice to vacate our condominium. We had to make a decision in a very limited amount of time and interacted with different professionals over a three week period. Benjamin was far and away the most helpful. I was referred to Benjamin almost 5 years ago when shopping for my first house. Benjamin was extremely helpful. I was ignorant and he walked me through every element without jargon. He had a goals worksheet he had me complete that smacked of a sales technique, but was truly genuine. It kept me at ease, always knowing the latest information, and never really wondering what needed to happen next. He is always looking out for your best interests. Benjamin is a fighter. When the homeowners insurance wasn’t working out with the lender he had an alternative solution ready. When things were stuck in the process he always found a way. When the day finally came for me to get the keys I saw an error in the escrow paperwork very last minute. Benjamin got them to fix it without delay! I was referred to Benjamin by a coworker. All the great things people say about Benjamin are true.

The purchase of a home or a refinance is one of the most intentionally confusing financial tasks you can undertake. We didn’t want to get mired in the minutiae of our refi, we wanted to save some money. Benjamin not only worked with us to make it go as smoothly as possible, he fought for our best interests. Our appraisal came back lower than older, smaller neighborhood homes, he mounted a rebuttal and our appraisal was revised. Our lender was not communicating with our HOA, he recommended we move to a new lender. That decision actually got us a better rate and lower closing costs. He wasn’t just a connection to that network of lenders. He was a champion for our cause. We were informed on every step of the process in a way that was relevant and understandable. His communication is clear, concise, and sensitive to our needs and goals. I can’t say enough good things about Benjamin! We’ll definitely stay in contact for all of future needs.
