I was actually in Carlsbad when the rain storm had started. I knew it was going to be bad just not sure how bad.
I was lucky that it wasn’t as bad in my area. It was just constant.
It was a constant reminder that I:
needed to get new tires.
don’t have to water my plants.
can’t go pick up dog poop in the back yard for awhile– uh oh!
job security.
will definitely appreciate the sun!
will be prepared for the next big one.
will definitely be more of a defensive driver than I already am.
Well, you get the picture. Yes it was bad that it rained and rained. But be happy you weren’t the one severely affected by it because some people lost almost everything. So I took it in stride knowing that when that sun shines after the storm, I know it’s going to be an awesome day. And I was right! Damn, missed out on the double rainbow. It was also nice to spend some snuggle time with my family.
Although I am not a fan, I definitely know that I was reminded to make sure that I knew what was important in my life vs the small nuisance of water dripping. So I’ll definitely take this over a blizzard any day!

I can’t believe I’m reviewing a rain storm but hey, there’s a first time for everything so here goes…
Big nasty storms? Really? You must be the slow ass driver I get stuck behind the minute a storm watch is issued. Thank God for the 10.5 inches of rain we got this past week because if you haven’t noticed lately our water reserves a little depleted so quit complaining about something that occurs naturally.
Thanks to the big nasty storms I can look off into the horizon and enjoy the beauty of the snow capped mountains which are usually surrounded in a haze of smog. I agree that some sun is necessary for plant life and vitamin D but c’mon who needs that bullshit ²⁴⁄₇. The overcast skies are my cup of tea and I live for the day I can actually chase a storm.

I will also gangbang a review but really let’s think about this for a minute.
California was always hearing the word «DROUGHT» bandied about by water companies and politicians for years. The Big Nasty Storms of 2010 have shut that talk up now for the time being! Yea!
Ever since the devastating fires that burned San Diego to a crisp a few years ago, the Fire Dept unions and bureaucrats have never stopped demanding MORE money, MORE fire equipment, MORE personnel, MORE bloated pensions etc., from the poor put upon taxpayers. All that rain can shut them up too– for a while.
True, we now have terrible mud problems, some water pollution and beach closures from all that non-​stop rain. Pity poor people like me who dislike indoor gyms and were forced to work out near a bunch of brutish, sweaty, grunting men while the weather was bad. Okay-​well maybe that wasn’t so bad after all.
Nevertheless, I enjoy the rain. I do not mind the inconveniences. Someone took my umbrella I left in a wet pile with the others at a social security office downtown, so I just grabbed another that looked like my old one, and it turned out to be a pleasant upgrade for me!
My son and I took our digital and video cameras down to flooded Mission Valley and got great shots of the over-​flowing banks of the San Diego River. We personally experienced first hand the agony of street closures and the sight of floating debris coursing down the lengths of a rain-​swollen golf course! I am not making light of the situation, despite what you might think. San Diego weather is nice but does tend to be bland-​from day-​to-​day!
This was EXTREME weather and the excitement it provided in our boring, dreary, monotonous, desperate daily lives was a bright spot at this-​the most festive of holiday seasons!
So that is my take on the Terrible, Ghastly Big Storms of 2010.

I’m with Mary R… love the rains! Grow up people!
Rain means not having to water… it means beautiful snow-​capped mountains… it mean wonderful wildflowers in the Spring.
Only negative is that the hiking trails are closed but a small inconvenience. Go storms!

I am somewhere between Ms. Gloomy Mary R and Ms. Rain Drops Keep Fallin On My Head Shayne on our recent 6 days of rain. After all it IS ONLY weather, and we sure have it better than most.

I loved the storm! I had the week off work so I had a great time watching the pouring rain from the comfort of my living room! Stanton’s streets held together great without flooding and they didn’t crumble up. It was also a great excuse to go get some hot soup for lunch.
Only negatives involved my late father’s house. The rain knocked over a small palm tree which I get to cut up and shove into the city’s trash can and it has a roof leak in the hall closet! My condo held up just fine!

When summer comes and things are dry or when those nasty fucking Santa Ana winds burn houses to the ground then you all will cry.

I am really really over the rain. The only reason it’s not 0 stars is because I know as a desert we could use the water, but seriously… give me a break. San Diego is not built for all this water! And as you can tell by the freeways, San Diego drivers don’t know how to drive in the rain.
So after I finish writing this, I’ll strap myself into my kayak and be on my way.

This storm is A-​OK in my book. I’ve experienced worse, even in San Diego.
Good Stuff:
— Cuddling weather
— I didn’t EAT IT this time jumping over the rivers
— I get to wear my cute boots
— Free car wash
— Don’t have to water the plants
— Drinking wine to stay warm
Bad Stuff:
— Having to get out of the car through the passenger side door this morning because of the giant river
— Constantly feeling the need to pee or eat because cold weather makes me hungry
— Getting my clothes and hair wet
— When it’s so windy that your umbrella turns inside out
— Accidents on the road
I’m safe and healthy. so all’s good in the hood. Stay dry Unilocalers!

It rained all weekend long while I was in Carlsbad & Irivine. Then I came back home to Vegas and it hasn’t stopped raining yet…
I don’t like the rain… accidents, people getting injured, accidents, road closures, double your drive time… why can’t it just snow in the mountains and rain over the lakes and rivers?
I know wishful thinking. Hey, I think I just saw a Four Leafed Clover…

Big Nasty Storm ?? I think not !

I was going to rate you higher because I’m saving money on my water bill but you are really starting to piss me off.
Number one is that my dogs hate going outside in the rain and have decided it’s more convenient to just take a dump on my floor and piss on my rug.
Number two is that is watching all the news stories about the dumb asses getting stuck trying to cross the San Diego River in Fashion Valley. Really? How long have these people lived in San Diego? Have they not seen that every year that part of road floods and people attempting to cross it have to be rescued? Pay attention folks.
Number three is that I’m just plain sick and tired of trying to drive in this crap.
Seriously you have overstayed your welcome. You know what they say about guests and wet dogs? They begin to stink after about three days. Time to move along now.

She still calls me Big Nasty. Good times.
