Ryan is an incredibly personable and down to earth mechanic. I just moved here from Hawaii and needed an oil change for my F30. I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The garage is a little hard to find, I drove past it once before seeing the banner outside, but the service I received was nothing short of 5 stars. While my oil was being changed I had a great conversation with Ryan about his path from working at dealerships to opening his own shop and his passion for BMW’s. It’s safe to say Ryan and Bimmerspeed will be the only mechanics touching my car!

I’m sold! Incredible customer service and solid work! BMW quoted me $ 300+ to fix a broken fog lamp. I ended up buying the part on Amazon for $ 60, realized I couldn’t fix it myself after all, and called up Bimmerspeed based on their Unilocal reviews. Ryan asked if I could come right over… which I did (still shocked that I was actually getting an appointment that quick!!). He got out his light and tools and fixed it in minutes. During the process the plastic frame broke, which he acknowledged right away and immediately called BMW for the $ 90 part. 30 minutes later I walked out with my new fog lamp, a couple cool new friends/​mechanics, and didn’t cost me a dime! He simply said Merry Christmas! As a daughter of a mechanic who owned his own shop, I can certainly appreciate an honest mechanic… my dad would have been thoroughly impressed! Thank you, Ryan! It’s nice to know there are still good people in this world!

These guys are pretty awesome. Had my 550i serviced by ryan a few times now and he is straight forward with diagnosing the problem, giving an estimate and timeline. He even worked around my work hours and was going to keep the shop open a little later just so he could accommodate me. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Much over due review. Ryan had always been my go to guy for my oil changes on my C 300 eversinceidiscover his shop. His work and ethics are amazing and his customer service is like no other. I used to go to a different shop in point loma, but I’m glad I found bimmerspeed along the way. Do not hesitate going foot him to his shop if your car is in need. His prices are very reasonable and you will leave a happy customer. You can tell by the reviews that his customers are always pleased. Do not pay the over priced dealer quotes, go to Ryan instead.

Once again I had an issue solved in minutes. My e60 was shaking/​vibrating on idle and felt like it was going to stall at any moment. Took it my the shop and within 10 minutes Bimmerspeed diagnosed the issue as a bad ignition coil. I had another shop tell me it was my Vanos Solenoid Control Valve. Glad that wasn’t the case. Bimmerspeed had the part on hand, replaced it and sent me on my way. AWESOMENESS!

Ryan is incredibly awesome. He truly cares for his customers. He shows you the broken parts after the repair so you are assured you were not lied to. He cannot stand other repair shops charging above and beyond prices. If you have an estimate from a repair shop, I highly encourage you to check with Ryan first. He saved me about $ 6,000!!! Many of my repairs he fixed on the spot in front of me. You can’t go wrong with Ryan. He is as trustworthy as they come. Recently while he was on vacation, he referred me to a shop and called them to ask that I be taken care of. As soon as he came back from vacation, he called me to make sure my car was running fine. He is like family to me.

I found this place through Google and read the positive reviews. I went to get an oil change with a previously arranged appointment and was in and out of there in about 30 minutes. Ryan (owner) is cool, courteous and straightforward. An oil change is no rocket science but it is hard to find good, expeditious customer service. I will definitely bring my car back for service whenever needed.

I could not be Happier!!! Ryan saved me almost $ 1,000 for work he completed on my M3… This shop was great… They treated their car as their own… which is rare these days… There were no surprises on the bill when came time to pay…
This was the first time I had used Ryan for work… I can honestly say that the shop far exceeded my expectations… I got my Differential servicing done by the shop… I was expecting to go home with the car and have to clean the previous oil from leaks… Nope not a chance… The differential was cleaned looking as good as new… Ryan took the time to show me the new parts installed while on my car… They really went out of their way to make a happy customer

I took my E46 M3 to Ryan because I had lost compression in the engine. I normally took my car to AGA in Escondido for any major repairs, but after reading the reviews on Unilocal I figured I couldn’t go wrong with giving this shop a try. After getting my car to Bimmerspeed they quickly diagnosed it and… low and behold I fell victim to the dreaded VANOS failure. Long story short, the engine was shot. Bimmerspeed sourced me a replacement engine with 71,000 miles on it, reinforced the VANOS with a cryogenically treated hub and cam bolts from Dr. Vanos, replaced the clutch, and RTABS, and did a valve adjustment. The attention to detail and quality of work was second to none. I can’t say enough positive things about the business they are running. The car is running better than ever and Ryan makes himself available for questions at all hours of the day. If you’re looking for a shop with a genuine appreciation for your dollar without compromising workmanship, this is the shop for you.

WOW !! These guys are awesome! I took my N54 in for some major service and upgrades. Not only did the work quality surpass any other shop I’ve been to the prices were on point! It’s evident the whole crew at bimmerspeed know their stuff and want to make you happy. Thank you guys! I found a new home for my baby !

Ryan, Max and John are very knowledgeable and great people to work with. I’m selective as to who I let work on my car and these guys make sure you are happy. Ryan & Max did an M-​Performance exhaust install on my car an hour before closing for an extremely competitive price! They know what they’re doing and I’ll be back for future work. Also, I liked that they submitted all their work to Carfax.

This place was awesome. Took my 2007 3 series in with issues they diagnosed it with a couple issues and including the solenoid valves and the transfer case motor and within 3 hours they had the new parts in my car. I took about a month to write this review to see if my car would hold up and she still runs like the first day I got her. Ryan did an awesome job and though it was pricey for me it was quality work for sure. Thanks again bimmerspeed

Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Ryan and the guys did a tremendous job putting in a new SMG transmission for my M5 at a very reasonable price. They really know their stuff and took great care of my car. BMW Dealer service without the dealer cost, can’t go wrong with that.

This is a type of place BMW enthusiasts dream about. These guys are currently taking care of my prize possesion 2000 BMW M5. Great price and fast precision service and the most important of all when it comes to getting your europeans automobile serviced is trusting that your mechanic know what they’re doing and I trust these guys. Highly recommended.

I got my brake fluids flushed today for my 2008 3-​series and I have to say it was a pretty great experience today.
I was searching for BMW repair shops and I found this one as one of the top rated shops on Unilocal in San Diego. I went in and met the owner, Ryan, who got my info in the beginning and explained to me what their shop is all about. After talking to him, I began to get a sense of what he is like. Despite sporting a large beard and multiple tattoos on his arm reminiscent of a Harley-​Davidson biker, Ryan is a genuine expert at servicing BMW vehicles. He explains that they are a business to make customers happy and not necessarily to «strike it rich». I asked them how much it would cost beforehand over the phone to get my brake fluids flushed, and he quoted me $ 100 out the door and would take about 30 – 45 minutes. This immediately appealed to me considering how BMW San Diego quoted me $ 300 and did not say it would take about 30 minutes to complete.
You might wonder a place like this would use genuine BMW components. I asked Ryan about and he said they do and the brake fluid that would be put into my car would also be genuine. They keep costs down by having 1 rack in their small garage and Ryan is the primary servicer. You might have doubts about a small garage like this, but the nice thing about this is that the waiting room was next too the rack where my car was hoisted up for service so I could immediately see what work was being done. I explained to them that I was kind of curious how they changed the brake fluids so Ryan was immediately welcoming me to come over and take a look. The transparency of the whole servicing made it feel like as if a handy-​family member was working on my vehicle. They were literally finished within 30 minutes.
The waiting room was a pleasant experience. There was a 52″(?) TV with cable and a PS3 available for usage, along with a leather couch. I think the nicest/​most generous perk is the Keurig machine they have the waiting room. Those machines are pricey and the fact that a small repair shop like this has one with many K-​cups available just serves as a subtle reminder that they care about you. Another small attribute that gave me a good impression about this place was they accept credit card, with no price difference whether you pay by cash or card. This may not seem like a big deal to all, but it does irritate me when small businesses only accept cash or they charge a fee for using credit card. I do have to say that I do kind of judge a business if they charge differently for using credit card, and this place continued to impress me. It makes it so much more convenient for the customer.
I think this place has been open for about 2 years. This place could be a real BMW Repair gem in San Diego. Hopefully the quality of the customer experience will not fade over time.

Bimmerspeed is amazing. After my warranty expired I found Ryan on Unilocal and he has consistently delivered nothing less than excellent service. He is quick, extremely knowledgable about BMW’s, and affordable. He also fixes little things here and there for free which is great since owning a BMW can be pricey. I now wonder why I ever went to the dealership. If you’re in the market for someone to keep your car in tip-​top shape, look no further!

FIVE STAR FROM START TO FINISH! Ryan was a true professional in every aspect when he serviced my 2003 BMW. My vehicle’s CEL was on due to faulty DLP according to the code reader. He was able to find a severed electrical wire which was the cause of the fault. He also gave me a great pricing on fuel filter and valve cover, which he promptly replaced. He even adjusted my head lights and other minor repair for free. I will definitely use his shop for all my future auto services. Great work Bimmerspeed!

Ryan was expedient, personable and professional in his services performed. His rates are excellent and he uses the highest quality motor oils. Therefore the oil change performed was better than BMW dealer spec at a fraction of the cost. His experience with BMW maintenance is excellent as he is a factory trained master technician and has the highest business ethics (15 years).

I took my 01 Audi TT quattro down to BimmerSpeed for a full turbo back exhaust install. Ryan, the main tech there, was super knowledgeable, honest, and to the point about the cars parts and install.
He helped me eliminate a super annoying vibration due to a bent heat shield under my chassis at no extra cost. Improved the quality and sound of my ride exponentially.
New 3″ stainless looks and sounds amazing with all completely stock mounting locations.
BOTTOM LINE: Factory quality knowledge and service. Extremely reasonable price (especially for these euro. cars!!). And great communication (I don’t feel just like another # in the system like at the dealership)
I’ll be back to BimmerSpeed 100% for sure!
