Bright Beginnings Learning Academy

I love this place and I am very thankful my wife and I found it when we did.
my first impressions were a high level of attention to the children. They really love kids, and my little 6 month old girl loved them right back.
We have been there for a few months and I found their staff and management to be very friendly and communicative. The facility is clean and safe. the playground is a large space that the kids seem to love, very well maintained. I really appreciate the way they treated us; a special thanks to Ms. Mickie and her staff of professionals for making this a pleasurable experience.

A big thank you to the entire school at Bright Beginnings. We were the first family to sign up when the school opened and we trusted them with our twins at 9 months old. Miss Mikki has always welcomed feedback and we always felt confident that our children were safe, receiving a top notch education and felt that our children were loved. We are more than happy with the way our children grew educationally and socially. We stayed the entire time through kindergarten and considered the staff to be an extended family. I would highly recommend this school to anyone. So many great memories and can’t say how fortunate we are to have made the choice to choose Bright Beginnings. We all miss you guys :)

Well, my kiddo is still going strong at this school and I am so happy — he has been here for the last 3 years and LOVES it. The Directors are AWESOME and I love my child’s teacher. They really make an attempt to know my son and strategize on how to aid in his success. Whenever I reach out to them, they are always so supportive and always offering suggestions and open to suggestions as well — I feel like it’s a partnership. Every morning when I drop off, his teacher always has a cute art project waiting for them and I the whole room is decorated with their art. They’re constantly moving things around to make it new and exciting for the kids. Whenever my son sees the director, he runs into her arms to hug her. We didn’t have that experience at other schools with my oldest.
I read one of the reviews that indicated the Directors weren’t open to feedback, etc. — that has been the polar opposite of my experience. My oldest son came to this school as well, so we’ve been here for a collective 4 years. Not sure what the circumstance was there, but not even close to the experience we’ve had and we have been here for a while!

Our son has attended for the past three years and we are very fond of the school and staff. Our son has grown and developed there and since he has two full time employed parents, it is really comforting knowing that he is being well taken care of at Bright Beginnings. The staff are warm and friendly — he really enjoys all of the teachers. He absolutely loves going to school — in fact, he sometimes complained on weekends that the school was closed.
As a parent, I always enjoyed bringing home his artwork on a regular basis and little updates given at pickup.
We will always be very thankful for this school, it has been one of the best decisions we have made for our son. Thank you!

The Most important thing when finding a place other than your own home with mom/​dad to care for your child is safety. Bright Beginnings was a safe place for my child. However, consistency is very important as well, and there were multiple substitutes each week caring for my child-​some of whom did not speak English. I did not know when I walked in the door with my little boy with whom I would be leaving my child. Overall, the teachers were young and inexperienced. One of the teachers, in particular, was often derogatory, unpleasant and bossy. She was also the director’s young daughter. Clearly, there were favorites, as the director’s children go to the school. Never did I feel a sincere and genuine welcome. The one time that I did have a verbal confrontation with the director, she was very defensive. Then, in her defense, she apologized. The bathrooms are dirty; there is often a strong urine odor in them. I would not use their bathrooms so of course I would not want my child to use them. I understand, there are financial issues at the school. The toys are old and rundown. They do the best they can but for the cost of the program which I paid in full with no government help as I understand some people do get government aid there, it should have been better. I am writing this only to help other parents who are looking for an educational, friendly, safe preschool/​daycare in which to place their children– one with a low turnover of teachers, with a mature, nurturing experienced staff. When I handed in my letter to the director 4 weeks in advance stating that my child would no longer be attending, not once did the director asked me why or how things could have been different. And in all businesses, and this is definitely a business, customer service is of utmost importance. If I were running a new preschool /​day care or any business I would most definitely want to know why I was losing an individual’s business so that I could make my business better. I sincerely hope that this review is constructive. It is by no means meant to be malicious.

My granddaughter just started this week and I can already feel the difference from her old school. The staff is super friendly and speak with such great tone to the kids. Their presence was a warm and loving one. The school is super cute and you are welcome to drop in anytime. I recommend this school to all mothers! They are GREAT!

As the parent of a 4 year old son, finding the right preschool was a scary prospect, given all of the factors involved (the program itself, location, cost, if there was a space available, etc.). We live in the Bay Park area and searched many options, including larger preschool centers, home-​based «daycare» and Montessori. We wanted smaller teacher-​student ratio but also wanted some structure for our son and a true preschool experience.
Bright Beginnings has answered our prayers!
From the first day we visited the school (about 6 months ago) until today, we have felt comfortable and at peace with Bright Beginnings on all levels. The administration and the teachers TRULY care for our son and his development, and maintain the perfect balance of love and discipline. Bright Beginnings considers itself «Reggio-​inspired» and not knowing a whole lot about the Reggio approach, I appreciate their wholistic approach to education.
The school is relatively new, and they are on the grounds of a church that was a bit run-​down when they first moved in. BUT… the church and the preschool grounds are in the process of a major renovation, and I have been impressed with the progress I have seen in the 6 months our son has attended. The staff takes great pride in providing a safe and clean environment, and I think they do a great job of that.
Overall, I can’t say enough about Bright Beginnings. They are human, so of course are not perfect, but they really have a special thing going on. I give Bright Beginnings Learning Academy an enthusiastic 5 stars!
