My flight from London to Newcastle on April 29^th was cancelled, and I had just flown all the way from California to London to visit my Grandma who is dying of cancer. I only had 3 precious days in England to see her. I waited in a customer service line for over an hour only to be told the next flight they could get me on was at 6:30 PM THE NEXT DAY. I could not afford to waste one of my three days. Because that flight (24 hours later) was the soonest flight possible, the customer service representative told me to save all of my receipts for my alternative travel, as the cancelled flight was clearly not my fault.
I then had to run around the airport to try and track down my bag which took an hour and half of phone calls, running around, stress, and disorganization. I finally caught the tube to the train and arrived to New Castle at 1 in the morning after 13 straight hours of traveling.
I was told via email that BA is unable to reimburse my alternative travel expenses — which is completely contradictory to what I was told in the airport after waiting over an hour in the customer service line…
The email also said to click a link to claim a refund for my cancelled flight, which I did. I filed that claim a month ago and still have not heard any response.
I am appalled with the level of service I have received from British Airways and will NOT be choosing BA in the future.

We wanted a nonstop from San Diego to London; BA flies out once a day. Their staff are friendly and helpful. They were very responsive to the need for retrieval of a carry-​on I’d left on a check belt after landing. Food served on the flight was just fair (starchy) but plentiful. The seats on this 747, however, were the smallest and most uncomfortable I’ve flown in years, maybe ever. And I am 5’3″, 125#, a frequent long distance flyer.

I got false information prior to buying tickets about pets policy. Apparently BA use external company IAG to handle pet shipping.
The price quota was 900 $!! to ship a cat.
This is more than 3 times in average than what I paid to other companies.
I’m addition to that we found out that due to holidays our flight don’t accept pets, which BA didn’t mention of course.
On top of that getting someone to pick up in customer relations is virtually impossible.
What a big disappointment by BA.

When I fly to London out of San Diego, British airways is the best. Not sure what all the low scores here are all about. I’ll provide more details later. Nonstop San Diego to Paris via London.

If I could give them a zero I would. In June 2014, I had to cancel a tour and flight due to a medical emergency re: my daughter, who ended up in critical condition. They refused to cancel the flight, would only postpone it, and I had to come up with a date to use the ticket within a year of purchase, which was Oct.2013. They would not listen that I would no longer be flying anywhere, so I told them to just pick a date, which they did, knowing I would not be using the ticket. I had travel insurance through Tin Leg, got my reimbursement for the tour with no problem, but British Airways has been totally uncooperative with them and me. I have sent multiple emails, filled out an online form from their website, and have gotten no response. They have not responded to multiple requests from Tin Leg to send a statement that I have not traveled on that ticket. Tin Leg will not reimburse me without a statement from British Airways, even though they stated they know I did not fly. What good is it to have insurance when the outcome depends on the unknown rules and regulations and the lack of customer service and empathy from the airlines. So much for «proper» English manners. I will never use this airline, and everyone should think twice about it also. It looks like they could care less, as the negative reviews are still coming. I’m also not sure about the insurance company, Tin Leg, even though they have tried. I feel they could make an exception regarding not getting the statement from British Airways, as I can prove I did not use the ticket. I am getting punished for something out of my control.

Our flight from San Diego to London was just fine. We appreciated the direct flight.
However trying to get information to claim our frequent flyer miles has been a big pain in the butt. You can find their actual customer relations number at 312−843−5794

When I missed my connecting flight in India, Brittish Airway refused to speak with any of us whom missed our flights. Essentially they left us stranded because the manager wanted to go home as there were no other representatives available to assist with new flights. I will never use their services as it took me 5 hrs of begging for help to get any flight back home. The manager still would not speak with us and had to use another airlines staff to communicate with Brittish airways as she refused to come out of her office. I was given whatever flight she wanted to leaving me stuck in India for over 24 hours. The airway has no regard for their customers

The airplane crew are biased to protect British-​accented passengers who had been extremely rude and kicked our seats when we reclined the seats and then shouted profane.
Upon reporting to the Headquarter in London in writing and in a meeting with the local manager, the airline headquarters in London simply ignore the grievance, while saying the same incidence can lead to airplane grounding just happening on the same date.
They have not made compensation the victimized party, who are twice victimized by this Corporation.
We are so disappointed by BA’s business attitude, and BA does not care about their own dignity, and how can they care and protect the passengers’ dignity!
Moreover, they cancel flight at will, and leave us one night in Paris because of Cancelled flight and Delay flight.
Try not to use the Direct flight route advantage — since all the rest are inadequate.

i booked a flight, had to cancel before using any part of it. I called twice and was told i only will be 250 penalty and i can use the value of the ticket for a whole year. and then they send me an email and refunded me only for 250 and took 960!!! nine hundered sixthy dollar penalty. !!! outrageous and i can not use the value … totlal rip offf

I flew the non-​stop from San Diego to London and then on to Madrid. The BA luggage system screwed up and my bag did not arrive for five days. This happened to everyone who was on the flight. Upon return to San Diego, over 100 people on my flight did not receive their luggage, same set of screw-​ups at Heathrow. My bag arrived eight days later. It was sitting at San Diego’s airport for seven days as nobody at BA thought to call the number displayed on the bag. The company reimbursed me for emergency needs in Madrid and offered me a $ 125 voucher for future travel. The headaches I spent on the phone, emails, documenting this all, as well as missing my belongings makes me recommend avoiding this airline at all costs. Very bad service and customer service displays an unwillingness to remedy the situation with a tangible offer of regret.

Booked flight on BA from San Diego to London, continuing to Dublin, and returning on the same route. Three days before departure (December 9) my doctor is helping me get over my flu when he learns that my test came back and he told me I have pneumonia. He wrote me a letter stating, «My Patient cannot travel by plane for at least seven days.» I called BA immediately. I told them of my quandary. What my options? The first offer is, we’ll give you partial credit toward the credit on the flight if you pay a $ 279 change fee, then the difference in the new fair, and some other charges (together these were going to TRIPLE the cost of the original ticket which was $ 900. I called them back and pleaded. Their response was clipped, emotionally avoiding. The stammering when the bad news came. «Sir. I have some news, sir.» I say, «Tell me the news. I haven’t got all day.» «Well sir, it looks as if we cannot give you any refund or any credit towards another flight. There were horrifically bad. They were clipped and very unkind to a very sick man, notwithstanding they’d kept me waiting on hold, on oxygen, for 2 hours and 18 minutes on day one; then 1 hour and 29 minutes on day two — - we spoke for 15 – 20 minute. I said I want to talk to your supervisor. The supervisor said the same thing but in a more educated English –Pakistani accent. He was giving me bad news with a literary bent. It’s a disgrace, they offered me ZERO refund or credit towards a future flight. I ‘m glad because I will not give them one cent of my money again after this disaster.
