Broadstone Little Italy

I’m almost at the end of this lease… and thank goodness. There is dog poop in the elevators way too often, packages are still a problem despite a locker system being installed, and the neighbor noise is the worst I’ve experienced. I hear my upstairs neighbors walking around, drawers opening and closing, my downstairs neighbor’s tv, every step people take on the stairs (which are next to my apartment). Last weekend some jackhole neighbors ran up and down the hall ringing doorbells at 1:00am. Security has been a problem and now construction is starting to the West of this building which will block the bay views at some point. Still an over-​priced frat house that I’m looking forward to leaving.

Possibly relocating to downtown San Diego for work and stumbled on to this gem of a community. I was greeted by a young lady by the name of Vi. She showed me around the community and I was amazed by everything I saw. She was very knowledgable about the community and area, with me being new to the city it was very helpful. I must say, I hope my relocation gets solidified so I can become a resident at Broadstone Little Italy. Thank you again for the great customer service!

I have been living in Broadstone since the building opened. I love living here. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. By far the best amenities any other building has to offer. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this building if you’re looking to move to San Diego. Perfect location and walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops.

I am looking to move downtown, but I am not in the financial position to do so. 4 of my friends live at Broadstone Little Italy and absolutely love it. At first, I thought what they were telling me was too good to be true. So I had to go on a tour myself. Michael (who is the property manager) and Vi, did an spectacular job answering all of my questions and concerns while on the tour. I trusted them and they were knowledgeable and detailed specific about Broadstone Little Italy.
Why 5 stars?
1) Customer Service-​I felt like family as soon as I walked into Broadstone. The staff greeted me and even before I took a tour, they wanted to find out about me and who I was as a person. «Rather than just looking at you like a number,» The staff has a genuine sincere interest in people.
2)Security– It is secure. Gated parking garage. Key chain buzzer to get in to the lobby. The neighbors look out for each other. I did not see an on duty security guard around. that could be a good thing because one is not needed due to the low crime rate. Compared to a location that has high criminal activity. Pet friendly dogs. Police station is local and responds fast, staff and maintenance crew keeps their eyes out for you. Very safe environment.
3)Amenities– Without going to their website, I would say that Broadstone has everything from a gym, rooftop pool, club house rooms with a pool table made of cement, T. V’s– Neat golf simulator room, conference rooms for business needs, computer stations, resort like atmosphere from the moment you drive into the parking garage, in unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, ac/​heater, elevator, rooftop garden, clean and neat.
4) Location– Located in Little Italy community oriented location. Surrounded by bars, 5star restaurants, business professionals, locals, and tourist. Near the harbor, outside of downtown, near the airport, near the 5 freeway.
5) Community Events/​Perks– Rresidents involved in outside and in-​house events. They do Happy Hours or social gatherings there on a regular basis for residents and have club passes for them too.
Cons: The rent is a bit out of my financial budget. However, the quality service that is delivered here makes the cost worth it. I hate to say it, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Recently was in the market for a new apartment. Stopped in and spoke with Michael about this property and let me say I was impressed! His overall knowledge of the property was refreshing. I didn’t get the usual «let me check on that» for some of my more complex questions. The Amenities were first class and it seems like there is a real sense of community here. Strongly recommend this place!

I have lived here for 14 months, and I just signed another lease. Without a doubt, this is the best place in little italy and one of the best places to live in San Diego… unless you are going to buy, of course. The amenities are great and make all my friends jealous, and I have made numerous friends from the other tenants. Most are young professional.
The management for the building is also awesome and respectful. Michael Brown listens to complaints and suggestions and takes action. I applaud him on making a point to try and get residents together for social functions. They have thrown a number of great events. Vi is also a real sweetheart and puts up with me being a needy tenant. They do a phenomenal job giving this place a reputation for the best in little italy.

We have live here for 1 year. The Rent they are charging and the service they are providing done not match. Before our move out experience I would of given this place a 3.5 star because the pool and views are gorgeous and the maintenance guys are awesome but it stops there. Notice that people giving 5 star reviews DON’T actually live there they just did a tour.
Now let me tell you about the really bad and I’ll try to keep it short… Alliance and Broadstone Little Italy are crooks. After moving out, they refused to give us our deposit back and send us a bill for more money. I knew were not going get our entire deposit back but charging us $ 654 was outrageous. They provided a closing statement with a break down of the charges. I thought it was bizarre that were charging us for carpet replacement when I knew there was only minor stain from walking on the carpet that could easily be cleaned. When i ask for invoices on the work done they provided me with invoices that did not match the closing statement. For example the invoice was only for a carpet cleaning and cost $ 100 but they were charging us $ 253 on the closing statement for a carpet replacement. They also sent an invoice for painting totaling $ 500 on which it stated that 1 bd 1 bath painting two tone apartment. Well $ 500 for painting a 791 sq ft apartment is outrageous and secondly our walls have always been 1 tone of beige. And finally they refused to sent us the invoices for the other work stated on the closing statement.
So buyer beware. I would check out the Current also in little Italy. The views and pools are on par with Broadstone but the service is much better (with a concierge) and UDR is a pleasure to deal with.

I’m so shocked by some of these reviews to be honest. Seems like the office was all in sync when I came in to tour last Friday. I was even greeted on tour by one of the maintenance staff which was so sweet. Toured with Michael and was greeted by the girl sitting at the front. She told me she was going on lunch and that her manager would tour me. Didn’t make an appointment but they were so accommodating! I’m not familiar with downtown and thinking about leaving the birds nest. I know it wasn’t a for sure lease for them but I appreciated how nice Michael was about it. Great experience and definitely are keeping them in mind

Omg this place is so nice! Nothing like it in San Diego. Even better than when I came to visit this place while it was building. It was nice to see a familiar face again and to see that they promote within the company. Michael was the assistant manager last year and he told me he just got promoted to business manager. Pretty cool. I toured last year with him and it felt good to have him recognize me again. Still waiting on that right offer to relocate me to the downtown area. Definitely will be in touch with him. The amenities are ridiculous. Gotta check this place out.

Toured the other day with Jay. Currently in a lease in Mira Mesa that doesn’t end until next summer. Excited to see what they’ll have in inventory. Thanks Jay for being welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to leasing here in June!

Went on a tour of Broadstone Little Italy and was amazed at what I saw. The location was clean, chic, and sophisticated. Amenities consist of a gym, a fully loaded clubhouse, pool, Jacuzzi, awesome views and more. Resorts living like this cost a pretty penny so don’t even think about it unless you are earning 6+ figures. Beautiful apartments can by yours «if you are worth it». «If you are worth it» you should consider Broadstone Little Italy.

I just recently relocated to the Broadstone Little Italy and I am so far loving my new apartment. This is definitely an impressive location in San Diego. I love being able to walk one street over on India and eat at one of the many restaurants to choose from. This is definitely been the best choice I made moving here. The staff has been really nice and my neighbors have also been welcoming.

Love this place, the view is awesome and the staff is great! This feels like home!

Walked into the lobby and took a seat to wait to see the leasing agent. She never even made eye contact with me or told me that she would be right with me, nothing at all. Another lady walked into the lobby and she disappeared with the lady for over 30minutes, I just left. Awful customer service and I can only imagine if I was already giving them my money.

I came in for a tour and I was really blown away by what this apartment community has to offer. If I was ready to move I would have signed a lease that day! Me and my GF both agreed we have never seen a community designed this way. The amenities were all on the rooftop overlooking the bay in Little Italy. I saw a golf simulator for open use and a wide gym that’s open 24 hours. The apartments had bay views and not to mention its in a great area of San Diego. Little Italy is one of our favorite visiting spots when we are out this way. The Leasing agent Vi who helped us was very knowledgable of the area and she was very friendly. Definitely next year when we are ready to move this is where we are going to relocate. Broadstone definitely has it all.

6 false fire alarms in 12 months. Staff fails to notify residents of packages being delivered. Stairwells are nasty dirty. View is spectacular from my unit. However, rent is super premium to market and service is nonexistent. Maintenance staff is among the best I’ve ever known, they fix all the issues quickly and efficiently. Office staff can smile, little else except say that nothing is their responsibility nor under their control. There are way better options out there. Rent increases are 16−18% a year. Renewals are less than 10% (estimate)

Most of the reviewers for this apartment complex don’t actually live here. I have for 6 months now and here you’ll find the good and the bad:
Good:
1. The maintenance staff (though incredibly overworked) are fantastic. They are prompt, friendly, and go above and beyond the call of duty.
2. Aesthetically, the apartments are lovely. Nice finishes, functional layout, beautiful pool deck.
3. Location is great.
Bad:
1. The elevators are rarely in working order. People have been trapped in them at least once.
2. Construction on shops in the building have caused fire alarms to go off at least 5 times that I know of in the past few weeks. This is terrifying for most pets if you have them and because there is no warning it’s hard to leave pets home unattended anymore. The same construction has caused water to the entire building to be shut off. We’ve been without water today now for more than 8 hours. No toilets, no showers, no hand washing or brushing teeth. This is not ok.
3. Management has a difficult time tracking packages left with them. I often get email notification from shippers saying my package has been delivered but when I inquire with the office they can’t be found for days.
4. Emails and voicemails to the main office have never been returned for me over the last 6 months. They say new management is in place, but I’ve experienced no improvement. Emails to the new manager directly do, however, get a response but if he isn’t working or available, don’t expect a prompt reply.
5. These apartments were constructed poorly with limited (if any) insulation between apartments. I can even hear my neighbors open and close their dresser drawers.
6. There is some kind of gnat problem in the building.
7. One assigned parking space is limiting when you have guests and you will have to pay $ 15 for guest parking. There also isn’t enough bicycle parking so many people end up locking bikes to the plumbing in the garage.
8. Despite emails from management, many residents let their pets roam off leash. I’m a dog lover, but do not want off leash dogs rushing up on my dog and management has not been able to get this under control.
9. Lots of parties on the pool deck means a lot of noise and trashy elevators every weekend. It’s like living in an over-​priced frat house.
10. Speaking of over-​priced… This place is crazy high now that I know all the problems it has. I lived in Ariel a few blocks away for nearly $ 1000 less with ½ the problems I’ve experienced here.
After 6 months I can confidently say you can do much better elsewhere (and probably for less money).

Hi all. We love living here but have to move for personal reasons. We are trying to rent out our 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath. We are on the 6^th floor with a great view of the courtyard. If you are interested or know anybody who would be, please let me know. The apartment is available for move in now.
Rent is $ 3300 per month

Décor — very nice and modern. New building. Nice staff.
Parking — assigned underground plus paid visitor spots for out of town guests.
Staffing — short staffed often.
Security — they have a guard plus security call box and you have to have fab to enter elevators. Parking is gated. Very secure
Pricing — expensive. 1 bedrooms $ 2500+
Activities — they always plan a lot
Maintenance — elevators broken, pipes breaking, dry cleaning lost. Annoying.

I Live here. I love it. The staff is awesome and always helpful.
So I would agree that having only one parking spot sucks. The pool hours suck. 10pm and pool closed. But that’s everywhere else as well. We have some old people that live n the building and they bitch when people are n the pool past 10pm. Again, nothing is perfect. I’m just taking this time to vent about it bc this is America and I do what I want.
I do enjoy living here and the people here are very nice and fun and everyone here for the most part likes to have a good time.
The BEST thing about this place is the infinity hot tube. Great way to relax at the end of the day.
If you can afford to live here, do it. If not, find a way to do it. Lol

Broadstone is such a tease for people who make as much (little) money as I do. I won the staycation through a Unilocal elite event (Luckiest girl ever, I know), so boyfriend and I were super excited to come here for a long weekend.
Like, super excited. Like, took time off work to come here earlier kind of excited.
Staff is super friendly and helpful! They answered all of my questions and made sure we were well accommodated. They suggested places in the area for us to check out, and made us feel very welcomed. I’d feel good having them as management of the building!
Security seems solid, too. You need an access key swipe thing to get into common areas, the first floor past 7pm (I believe), and to utilize the elevator. You also need it for stairs from the outside and the pool area. I appreciate this a lot! very secure.
The venue is beautiful. Location is wonderful, right in the heart of Little Italy. We were concerned about noise due to proximity to the airport (great views of planes taking off and landing) as well as the trolly and the Amtrack. They are literally RIGHT next to the building! Depending on where you are in the building, you might get some noise especially outdoors (duh), but they seemed to have done an amazing job soundproofing, because we couldn’t really hear it once doors were closed. You will enjoy unbeatable views, too! Ahhhhh
Common areas are nice and well-​kept. The pool is ridiculously nice and clean and all that. The jacuzzi heater wasn’t working when we were there, but I guess you can’t win them all. Gym is brand new and high-​tech, and the business center seems more than adequate. We didn’t use the golf simulator due to zero interest, but it is a fun addition.
Residents here are so nice! We met quite a few in the common areas, and they were friendly and said they do go out on weekends together and hang out. I love that!
All in all, if I could afford this place, I’d consider it! Biggest downside is price and the fact that no matter what apartment you rent, you only get 1 parking space. This could SUCK given the area being so popular. This was a wonderful visit and made me pretty envious of people who get to enjoy it day in and day out!

Very nice apartment rentals, but grossly over priced despite the location. Many of these so-​called high-​rise luxury apartments have costly amenities on site that few people would use or care about… e.g. expensive exercise machines, and glitzed-​out exercise rooms with flat screen TV’s, or onsite internet café, and overdone business centers. These are very costly amenities that RENTERS PAY FOR!!! THEY ARE NOT GRATUITOUS ON THE PART OF OWNERS.
$ 3000 FOR A ONE BEDROOM. BATH APARTMENT IS EXCESSIVE… AND MORE IMPORTANTLY UNLESS YOU ARE A LAWYER, DOCTORS, OR STOCK BROKER THAT IS A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK EVERY MONTH. Look else where; save money on glitzy useless perks… and tour Europe every summer on the money you will save

Mixing marketing with Unilocaling = excellent idea.
I like the Broadstone. Rethink your idea of apartment living. Great location, great gym, pool, view, and a «party room» that you would actually want to use. ($ 50/​hour rental). Better amenities means you can get by with a smaller apartment.
The tour I was on saw an efficiency (translation: «tiny») apartment furnished with great furniture/​décor by a designer you can’t afford. It was very cool the way all the parts fit together in a very small package.
As for the Unilocal «event», the Broadstone catered pretty tasty snacks and apps, wine and beer. Live music. Nice to meet Unilocal buds Mel and Vin. Thanks for looking for me, Vin. An hour of Elite fun was plenty for me since I was solo.
Bye, bye Elite SD. I’m moving to ATL in six weeks.

Swanky new place in Little Italy for people who have the moolah to spend on this place. I got to tour the place and for a studio, it runs you at about $ 2400, 1 bedroom at around $ 2800 and 2 bedroom at around $ 3800. Gorgeous place, some things i took note of:
–It’s right by the train station but you can’t hear the train at all when you’re inside.
–harbor views
–the zero-​edge pool with view of under water from the street was very cool and interesting
–it’s a mid-​rise apartment so no floor is better than the other unless you really like to be on top, then opt for the 6^th floor.
–they utilize their spaces very well and even the studio apartment was pretty nice, I would consider it if I was single.
–the conference rooms, computer rooms, yoga studio, gym, golf simulated room were all really cool amenities to add to the list and they’re open 24 hours.
–They’ve been open for about 5 months now and they’re 80% occupied so that’s saying something.
Great place, just gotta remind myself to not use my money on trips and to just live here and pay rent instead.

I don’t live here but have a friend who does. Wowzers this place is swanky! The pool and hottub are super sweet with a killer view! There’s a huge kitchen, pool table and couches in the lounge area. We will definitely be planning some parties there soon! The place is extremely well designed, super upscale and yup’d out hard.
That being said, the rent is high! Like really high! The crowd is young rich snoody folks. Haha. I’m probably being too mean but there’s no shortage of plastic and pocket size dogs living there. Anywho, 5 stars!!!

Beautiful and upscale apartments in the middle of Little Italy.
We were attending the official grand opening with the tours of a few apartments (studio, 1 and 2b) as well as all the common facilities that this complex has to offer. The best apartments to rent are of course the ones that are facing the bay, the view is simply stunning.
On the downside there are train tracks that are right next to the build. The common area offers a nice lounge area with a fire pit and modern couches, a pool (kind of small) and a pretty awesome glass jacuzzi.
Luxury living comes with a pricey tag attached, to rent a 2B appt will cost $ 3800 p/​m

After attending the Grand Opening last night, I cannot give less than 5 stars to this splendid apartment complex. The party at the ‘yacht club’ where the pool, jacuzzi and terrace common areas are located was just a sample of how cool must be living here! I saw the demo apartments, from the smaller studio (from $ 2070) to the ²⁄₂ ($ 3800) and let me tell that the finishing, appliances, atmosphere and everything make of this a dream place to life and enjoy live. Ahhhh those prices… that is another story. If you end up renting there, do not forget to include me in your parties. I am highly entertaining!
