Established in 1991.

Since 1991, CALbath & Kitchen has designed and built over 15,000 kitchen and bath remodels and refinishing projects from San Jose to San Diego. We understand the importance of delivering you your dream kitchen or bath. Our dedication to customer satisfaction includes collaborating with our customers to ensure a quality project at an affordable price. Our showroom includes displays of tub and tile refinishing, acrylic bath systems plus new and complete kitchens and baths.

In 1990 college roommates Dan Liechty & Scott Davis were on the verge of graduating from UC Irvine. With solid degrees within their reach they began to look for their new careers. What they found was they were facing one of the worst job markets in decades. In fact, in late December 1990, they were both let go from «internships» … who fires interns… they are practically free.

So in 1991 Dan & Scott with a little help from family, their birthday monies and a small loan started a business refurbishing bath tubs and CALbath was born.

CALbath has grown to multiple locations: Orange County, San Diego, San Marcos and San Jose. Services include Bath Tub and Tile Refinishing, Acrylic Tub and Shower Liners, Complete Bath Remodels, Custom Closet Systems and Full Kitchen Remodeling.

JUST TERRIBLE. I wish I could give zero stars
I called to get a quote on a bathroom remodel, and I made an appointment with Steve. My appointment was for a Monday at 8am. Now being a small business owner I had set a couple hours aside from work in order to let Steve into my home and tell him what I wanted etc.
Come Monday 8am rolls by and no one shows up I give him a few minutes because of traffic or maybe he got lost, 8:30 comes around and still nothing, no phone call, nothing. I still give him the benefit of the doubt. At 9 am I call their office and everyone there is clueless to what’s going on. I finally get a hold of Steve and he tells me that there was no appointment scheduled and that’s why no one showed up. I found that weird since I made my initial appointment with him by phone. All he said was sorry. Keep in mind I have a small business and I can’t take that much time off. I found this very unprofessional and I would never recommend this company to anyone. All I got was a simple «sorry». He could have told me he was coming later and sorry for the inconvenience. But no, now another company is getting my business.

Thank you for the reply. I still believe your competitor offers a same or superior product for less.
I base this on their cost and warranty compared to CALbath;
It has been 3 years 5 months and the tub refinish done by 3 in 1 Bathtubs still looks like new. Pass on CALbath and go with 3 in 1 Bathtubs.

I earlier I did a review to wrong location. I have used cal bath years ago to do refininshing in bath and still looks great. This time I decided to refinish my laminate counters in kitchen Pablo is the one who did the work .He was always on time, professional, left area clean. I love my counters! Everyone I worked with from cal bath had been great!!!

Met with Sharon who came to our house and provided an informal estimate. She then invited us to their showroom to discuss, look at tiles and accessories in order to provide a formal estimate. Sharon was very informative, professional and super helpful. She tried her very best to go within our budget. The bid was very fair and was what we expected, but unfortunately, Cal Bath was too popular and got too many clients to accommodate us with our rush remodeling request. If you’re not in a rush to remodel, go to Cal Bath and ask for Sharon. She surely will do everything to work within your budget.

Brandon and Daniel were very good at their job, and they exhibited an excellent work ethic. Both gentlemen were very professional, personable and presented a good face for CalBath. As the lead, Brandon was very good at explaining things to Daniel and they both worked tirelessly. One excellent item to mention is that both gentlemen requested feedback from the very start. They also encouraged observation of the project at any time and frequently stepped aside for us to take pictures of the progress of the job. They kept the work area neat and clean and left it very clean at the end of each work day. These behaviors lead to a very positive connection and high level of confidence with the customer. I hope all your installers do the same. An additional point for Daniel; for only having been with CalBath for such a short while, he was VERY knowledgeable and competent. Obviously Brandon was extremely competent as well; he answered any and all questions and explained things as he went along. We are looking forward to our first showers in the new shower this evening.
Overall we are happy with the shower. It is roomy and the new hardware is very nice, I even leave my shower chair in the enclosure and have room to stand without using it.

The did a good job refinishing my bathtub but about a year later it started to crack. They sent someone out to tell me that because the floor is not flat, they cant cover the repair. Why would they offer to do the job in the first place if there was a structural problem? Not Happy with them at all.

Just had our two bathrooms remodeled with the acrylic panels that go over existing tile. FInished product is beautiful. We had a problem with the acrylic bath tube shell, no fault of Cal Bath, so we ended up refinishing the bath tub instead and it turned out
great plus it was a little less expensive. They were careful while doing to job and cleaned up the area when finished. Would definitely recommend them.

WoW! These people are wonderful. Easy to work with and concerned that I was pleased with the result. They were called out to re-glaze 2 sinks. One of the sinks had «spider» cracks and could not be replaced with the same design. Since I have 2 matching sinks it was easier to re-glaze…and the results were pleasing. David did the estimating and was responsible for doing the job. Laurie (in the office) was pleasant to deal with.
I recommend them highly to anyone who wants to re-glaze (refinish) rather than replace.

Worked with Greg at the San Marcos office! He was super friendly and helpful. He was available when I called with questions, or if he wasn’t there, he would always give me a prompt call back. I purchased 2 toilets and had my bathtub/shower refinished. The installer wasn’t as outgoing as Greg, and some of the paint on my wall was ripped off by the outlining tape, but I guess that’s to be expected. Overall, I’m a very satisfied customer.
