This place has an excellent selection of food but unfortunately, the owner has an attitude. This place gets so much business that he doesn’t care about being friendly. Also, it’s a bit overpriced. And not open on weekends!

Located in the Nursery next to the Carlsbad outlet mall(at least for the Flower Field season). There are several strawberry focused treats to try here including Shakes and Sundaes. Mikeshake was more on the watery side when compared to In-N-Out shakes, but they are also very real strawberry tasting. $ 5, worth the money. Strawberry Sundae. Ice cream with sweetened strawberry sliced topped with whipped cream and sweet toppings of your choice. $ 5, worth the money.

Strawberry milkshake was $ 5. Creamy, milky, and like any milkshake. It’s a nice snack to have after walking around the field.

Yes, yes, YES! I was drawn to Carlsbad Gourmet at the Flower Fields when I saw what I thought was lavender ice cream. I LOVE all things lavender, so I had to have this. When we got there, though, I found out they had strawberry-lavender shakes and sundaes. I was a little turned off… cause I just wanted some fragrant, refreshing lavender ice cream. But the way the girl working there described the strawberry-lavender sundae made me change my mind and I gave it a chance. Best $ 5 I spent all week! It was AMAZING. Vanilla ice cream, sweetened/sugared(something like that) strawberries sauteed with lavender syrup that they make from real lavender… and topped with homemade whipped cream. It was so uniquely sweet and refreshing! Soo delicious! If I hadn’t already known there was lavender in it, I don’t think I would have been able to pick it out, because it was very subtle but it was soo tasty. It really gave it a different flavor. A must try! I want another one!

I ordered three items(BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and mustard) for my dad for Fathers Day from the Carlsbad Gourmet website after I had enjoyed samples that I tried at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. I have a few complaints: 1. After placing my online order, no confirmation email was sent to me. 2. I called the company’s phone #(listed on their website) to check the status of my order and they didn’t answer the phone any of the times that I called. I ended up leaving them a voicemail to return my call and they never returned my call. 3. My dad received the package of the 3 sauces however the mustard had been previously opened(it had no seal and there was crusted mustard on the lid as if it had already been used as a sample). My dad called the company. Once again nobody answered the phone so he left a voicemail and nobody cared enough to return the phone call or send out a new sauce. He loved the BBQ sauce and hot sauce but it’s a shame he wasn’t able to try the mustard. I wouldn’t place another online order through this company due to the lack of customer service.

Spotted them when we making our way to the Flower Fields entrance. Immediately told myself that we will have to stop here when we finish touring the Flower Fields. So that is exactly what we did 3 hours later! As mentioned in the other review, Carlsbad Gourmet is located at the Armstrong Garden center. When you exit the Flower Fields, you will see there little place right there. Yes, they do make their products with fresh California strawberries! Actually wish they sold the strawberries too. We placed our order. Then stood to the side and watched them make their concoctions. This is what we had: Strawberry Lavender Sundae($ 5.00) They asked if I wanted it with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Well, of course yes! I must say that it was yummy. Strawberry Shake($ 5.00) Tasted really good as well. Strawberry Lavender Shake($ 5.00) Tasted a bit sweeter than the regular strawberry shake. Our twins loved the strawberry lavender shake more than the regular one. I have no idea if they are open year round. I know that the Flower Fields are only open for a couple months out of the year. Carlsbad Gourmet is a much better option than purchasing similar shakes inside the Flower Fields. The prices are more reasonable here and service was excellent. Too bad the portions are not larger though. Oh well. We’re fans anyways.

I guess they just moved here? Regardless, they’re situated inside the Armstrong Garden(left of the main entrance to the Flower Gardens) and the product is awesome! Stacks and stacks of fresh California strawberries awaiting their turn to make their existence, in your tummy. It was interesting to see the option for a «Strawberry Lavender Shake»(ok I’ll buy it), and of course, their«Strawberry Shake»(bought that too), and oh — «Strawberry Sundae»?! Fine.(cha-ching). Oh? «Strawberry Lavender Sundae»?(exhale) Let’s do it . O____O That’s how wide my eyes got, as they sprayed whip cream and drizzled chocolate sauce on my shakes and sundaes. my arteries. my stomach. SOMUCHGOODNESS. You could taste the freshness of the strawberries, with no added ice to mess with the natural sugar high — these were pretty legit! Tip: The Strawberry Lavender option is slightly sweeter than the normal Strawberry selection. Also, you will be granted the option of whip cream or chocolate sauce(at least in my case it was). ANYWHO, bon appetit! ;)
