History

Established in 2008.

Casa Artelexia opened its first retail location in San Diego in February 2010. Located in the lively neighborhood of North Little Italy, Casa Artelexia is a father-daughter business which features handmade gifts and home décor from the many colorful regions of Mexico.

«Casa Artelexia has been years in the making,» said store co-owner Elexia de la Parra. «My father and I have always known that we would start a business together. We knew that we wanted something fun, to share our Mexican heritage and to design and create pieces inspired by Mexico. We wanted a business that required travel, imagination and creativity… something that we could love and nurture. Finally, after years of ideas being tossed back and forth the idea of ‘Casa Artelexia’ was born. We started selling our products at local Farmers’ Markets in 2009, receiving a great deal positive feedback from our customers.»
