The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa has one of the most unique locations among San Diego hotels, nestled across the street from Mission Beach and just steps from the more relaxing, quiet strip of beach along Mission Bay. Several well-​known attractions are only a few miles away, including SeaWorld, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and historic Old Town.

All 312 rooms at the tropical-​themed resort have their own private balcony or patio. Free Wi-​Fi internet is included in every room, as well as complimentary coffee, robes, iHome for iPod, and a flat-​screen television. Non-​smoking rooms and 24-​hour room service are also available.

Guests can take advantage of the Catamaran’s Resort Water Sports, which offers sailboats, kayaks, and paddleboards for use in Mission Bay, the world’s largest man-​made aquatic park.

The Catamaran Spa, the only beachfront San Diego spa, offers an exotic menu of practices with marine and botanical elements inspired from the South Pacific.

History

Established in 1958.

the resort and its surrounding area was originally the summer estate of the Scripps family. Mrs. Scripps envisioned a simple yet elegant home, a place where the family could enjoy wonderful ocean breezes and comfortable starry nights. The family eventually abandoned their summer estate in late 1955, and it was sold. In 1958, Mr. William D. Evans acquired the property and commenced the construction of what would become the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa.

Initially the resort was a modest 82-​room inn. The original décor was a Spanish motif. However, the Spanish décor did not create the type of atmosphere the Evans family was looking for. Mr. and Mrs. Evans wanted an atmosphere where the landscape was the epitome of beauty. They wanted the buildings to act as a frame around a picturesque landscape. After much deliberation, a tropical theme was decided upon as the main motif.

Absolutely exceptional!!! The place was called oceans! Bojana was our server and a lot of fun! And our day is just getting started. Service was impeccable. I went out of my way to tell the manager how pleased we were. The food was EXCELLENT. I wish I had room for dessert, but we have massages and facials next. So, maybe we will come back after come here you won’t be upset.

Paradise. I love this hotel. As soon as you pull into the check in it makes you feel like you’re in another world. Totally feels like a resort in Hawaii.
The people here are amazing, so much hospitality and friendliness. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was very special. Thank you Lauren and Kristen for making this the perfect trip. Your kindness truly was above and beyond what was expected. We will be back!

Great for folks with walking handicap (s). Ads for this hotel kept popping up on my husbands iPhone while we were renting a bungalow in Pacific Beach — so we decided to check out the resort. Before we left the hotel property we had checked in! We’ve spent lots of time in Hawaii and the ‘South Pacific’ theme of this property is spot on. Nicole at the front desk was wonderful, she put us in a handicap/​accessible room on the tower’s 6th floor. Perfect Bay, Beach and Ocean views. ADA bathroom was great with a completely barrier free shower w/​fold down, chair, etc.
The ‘studio’ room had a small kitchen, compact but very useable. Loved the winding, lush, flat, tropical walk ways, tiki torches lit at night, right on the easily accessible beach, I could go on. If you have walking issues you’ll appreciate this hotel, the flat beach, paved walking path around the bay and landscaped walking areas at the resort. I would suggest the tower if you want the best views. We’ll be back for a longer stay.

Amazing hotel! I was browsing around on Unilocal to find a hotel for our trip to San Diego zoo. It was only 16mins away from the zoo. This location was literally in the middle of everywhere! We’re on vacation so I want to find a resort so it has the amentities for the kids. This place was perfect!!!

Stayed here for a portion of our San Diego trip in May 2015. Beautiful, well kept, quiet grounds with fish ponds and daily parrot/​macaw exhibit near the lobby. Excellent view from our room as recommended by our travel agent when we booked the hotel room.
Good location and in walking distance to just about everything. Kayaks, Hobie catamarans, and water sports available to use on site but it was too cold during our stay. Will come back, hopefully soon.

We had a wonderful stay at the Catamaran. The room was clean, cozy and I loved the floor to ceiling arcadia doors. We had the best view! It was a garden view where we could see all of the lush plants and greenery but we could see the bay too! It was wonderfully relaxing. The entire property was covered in beautiful tropical plants and ducks wondered the property too. Their location is perfect too, the bay on one side and the beach is a short walk on the other side. In the mornings we walked along the bay and could see all the moon jelly fish in the water. We loved how close it was to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Mission/​Pacific beach is my favorite area so it’s in the perfect spot. We didn’t try the restaurants because the menus were too small and the food was very expensive, but there are a lot of great places close enough to walk or a short drive. We definitely want to come back and stay here on our next trip.

The rooms here are the worst I’ve ever stayed in including Motel 8. At least there was a mini fridge!
I came here for a work conference and boy am I glad about that. I would not recommend this for a personal or family stay at all. Here’s my breakdown:
Lobby: okay, waterfall, orchids, koi ponds, mandarin ducks, yada yada this was all good and beautiful. The macaws and parrot even give a little show! Yes, grounds were beautiful and Polynesian themed.
Room: HORRIBLE. I stayed in the towers at the corporate rate of $ 235 a night (heavily discounted already). For this price, you get NO mini fridge, no real comforter, no good night sleep, the thinnest walls in the world, the most outdated décor and bathroom, dirty tub with missing sink trap and a view of the parking lot. The way the rooms are arranged is just heinous! Your bed is separated by 2 inches of wall to the next bed. The noises are so distracting that I requested a room move because the person next door kept me up with his whopping cough like clockwork TWICE at 4am — 6am.
Service: supremely mediocre. When I requested the room move (something I’ve never had to do before), I asked if there was a room with a vanity (something all THREE of my coworkers got but not me for some reason) and the front desk clerk sneeringly said there was nothing like that in my price range. Um, the corporate rate was the same for all tower and garden rooms but let me tell you, the differences were IMMENSE.
Oh, and the toilet paper dispenser is located in a part of the bathroom where you have to do yoga to get to. Who TF designed these rooms? Seriously, it’s a 1-​star room with a 4-​star lobby. WTF? Also, it’s far from downtown, the airport, and basically everything.
And another thing – no breakfast included at over $ 200 a night! I bought a croissant at their restaurant for $ 5.32 with tax and tip. Ugh. Yes, I tipped for a croissant.

I just got back from staying the weekend at this resort and I must say, it was cute! The hotel staff was friendly and we were always greeted. When we arrived for our late check-​in, we were upgraded to a bay view suite, with a kitchenette, which was awesome! When you walk in through the front doors, there is a beautiful waterfall and koi fish pond that await you.
The rooms, however, are a little outdated. Our lights next to our bed did not work, making it quite dim in our room at night. I was not fond of the bathrooms at all — very 70’s ish. There was no room to put anything on the bathroom counter, and the tile floor had a lot of stains (which I tried to clean off, but they’ve probably been there for so long, that they would not come off), leaving me to wear my flip flops every time I used the bathroom.
The resort restaurant, Oceana, is always packed, so booking a reservation is a good idea — otherwise the minimum wait times are about 30 minutes. We ate there Sunday morning for brunch and the $ 60 per person in so worth it (in my opinion). You get to choose food from the buffet bar and cold bar, as well as a large entrée. We had the prime rib — it was delicious!
I am giving the Spa 5 stars. I got the island package which included an anti gravity facial (80mins) and a Swedish massage (50 mins). Both were amazing!
The gym was also nice. While running on the treadmills, you’re looking at the Beach, which is nice.
The resort was walking distance from Mission Beach which was really nice — a lot better than Mission Bay (the beach that you see Fromm the window and that is part of the resort). It’s about 20 minutes from the airport as well as 20 minutes from downtown SD. There is a restaurant near by called Phil’s BBQ and it is worth the wait!

If you’re a San Diegan, you know the Catamaran, you have probably been to an event here at some point in your life. But have you ever spent the night here? I did and I am not in a hurry to repeat the experience.
Our first room was blessed with elevator ambiance. You can lie in your bed and listen to the sweet strings/​cables of the elevator dancing between floors. So we asked to be moved. Then our second room had the smallest bedroom in the history of hotel room bedrooms. This was considered a suite because it has a seperate bedroom and living space. (this was an «upgrade») The actual square footage was very decent, but they chose to make the bedroom tiny with 2 double beds pushed up against their perspective walls. The bathroom was equally small, with a tiny pedestal sink and a bathtub with shower curtains (I despise shower curtains).
The living space in both hotel rooms was ample and well appointed. The room we spent the night in, we had to unplug the mini fridge because it was competing with the TV and our sleep. The carpets were dark and stained in some spots. There were no wash cloths or face towels in the bathroom. In general, this is not a well thought out room and it would seem that the housekeepers do not take time making sure everything is in its place or as clean as it should be. Side note, if you can’t find the In Room dining menu, try the bedroom. I mean why would you have it on the dining table?
The staff, grounds and dining are more than respectable, they saved the short stay here. I have come to the spa here several times, and that is worth going to.

Wow, what can I say but amazing. This place has an awesome grounds. Many tropical plants and palms I’ve never seen before. And Tikis everywhere. A must stay for anyone who wants to feel like you woke up in Polynesia. Every employee I have talked to is friendly. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. I’ll be back for sure.

We love this place. This is our second trip here for spring break. We love that we can walk out of our room and go to the bay or cross the street and be on the ocean. The shopping is great, lots of variety along pacific drive. Only reason I don’t give five stars is we think the dining could be better at the hotel. We mostly leave the hotel to eat. We will be back.

A recent work conference held at the Catamaran brought me to the resort for just shy of a week. The grounds are absolutely lovely, and major props to the landscaping crew. It does feel like a pseudo-​Hawaii! I loved checking out the koi ponds and strange looking ducks and other waterfowl. Be sure to stop by and check out the parrots near the lobby.
The location is also on point. Easy walking distance to so many decent restaurants. The resort is beachfront with a side gate access to Sail Bay, and the hotel keeps the beachfront stocked with free chairs. The chairs are not just only for guests, so locals and beach visitors are also welcome to use them. How nice! If you;re not digging the beach area directly by the hotel, just walk a block and you’re on Mission Beach.
The pool and hot tub areas are also well-​kept, although, I thought it was odd to insist on guests wearing wristbands. The security guards were nice enough about letting guests know, but it seems redundant when they literally have to check and remind each guest even though pool area can only be accessed with a room key.
Where the hotel fell flat for me was the room. I stayed in the Tower on the sixth floor. My room was situated all the way at the end of the hallway. Not going to lie, it was somewhat creepy and dark. I kept waiting for some random creeper to pop out at me near the stairwell. The room itself was very basic, but clean. I liked the kcups that were provided for the coffemaker. It did not have a fridge or microwave, which The pipes made crazy noises when my neighbor showered, which was loud enough to wake me up. The room was on the left side of the Tower and had a stunning view of the parking lot. Whomp, whomp. My colleague’s room was much nicer (random upgrade to the penthouse floor in the Tower that had a great view and a kitchenette), so apparently the rooms are hit or miss.

This place is a gem with regards to layout and scenery. The grounds are beautiful and you feel like you’re in Hawaii.
My only feedback would be for the employees to have to go through hospitality class on a regular basis. They generally lack that «Aloha» spirit which the hotel is trying to convey. If you could improve demeanor and overall happiness of employees, I know this place would get 5 stars across the board…

This tropical paradise is located right on the bay in Mission Beach.
This resort is located in walking distant of restaurants and shopping, which was great for my girlfriends and I. The facility is tropical with lagoons full of koi fish, tropical birds, and the cutest ducks.
We stayed in the towers. Our room overlooked the bay. We were surprised to find our room came with a kitchen unit. The rooms could use an update, but overall ok. The only downside was you could hear your neighbors open their balcony door and use the restroom. However, we weren’t in our room much.
The facilities are great! We ate at Morray’s and Oceana throughout the weekend. He Morray’s Mai tai is a must! We also used the day spa and fitness facility. The fitness facility allows you to people watch while getting your cardio done.
Great customer service from all individuals we interacted with. Overall, we had a great weekend.

Aloha! San Diego! Staycation in SD last springtime and can’t believe I didn’t finish my review ! We stayed in this hotel for a night just to try their amenities. We got a room with a view nice but disappointed the room was outdated and carpet was old. The lobby was nice tropical setting waterfall and ponds with colorful fishes, and ducks and parrots that talks to you;)
The pool was okay but the hot tub jacuzzi was crowded with young teenagers drinking their beers. Too loud partying? And oh you have to pay for the parking $ 25.00 seriously? No complimentary parking so we park outside for free! Anyway the hotel lobby is relaxing and so Chill good vibes waterfalls and ponds.

The fiancé and I stayed here for four nights in February. They were very accommodating by letting us check in early and even gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite! The view was great because we could see the bay and the ocean all at once. Our room was in the tower. The room was clean but the entire hotel is in need of a bit of a facelift sometime in the near future. There are beach chairs for your use on the beach down by the bay and lots of clean towels and chairs by the pool and the hot tub. Parking is free with your hotel key. Wifi is a little temperamental.
The breakfast here is very yummy and reasonably priced. I got the breakfast burrito and the fruit & yogurt parfait. We checked out the bar on our last night there. It’s a little on the small side. They could definitely use more seating, but the bar tenders are very nice and quick to refill your glass.
All in all, I would stay here again.

i was prepared to write a bad review on my recent stay but it was turned into a good experience. We had a few hiccups like our room location next to the restaraunt, loud construction noises then plumbing back up in our sink and broken head board. I mentioned this at check out and was immediately compd my meal & parking.
While this doesnt change the bad stuff, it definitely showed a respect for my experience. stuff happens so when it does and you respond correctly and quickly, i can forgive. ill definitely come back to the hotel again because of their response.
also the Oceana restaurant was excellent.

We only stayed here one night but I feel I have enough information to write an accurate review.
When we pulled in we were greeted by the valet. I went inside to check in and the first thing you see is a huge waterfall and pond. The lobby looks nice however you can tell it is getting outdated. The check in counter had 4 people working so checking in was pretty quick. They mentioned a $ 23 — $ 28 /​night parking fee which took me by surprise but I guess that is becoming more of the norm.
Walking to our room in the tower you notice a lush area with koi fish, palm trees, ducks walking around and tiki torches everywhere. The grounds are really nice.
When we enter the doors to the tower you immediately notice two elevators. We got to our room and while being surprised at the size (very large) we immediately noticed the room looks dirty and old. It has a kitchen, a bed and a small bathroom. The bed was comfortable and firm.
Starting after 7pm they have a cool (and free) boat ride that goes around the bay. That was an added bonus. The location of the hotel is pretty great as well. We walked to the beach and then around the walking path most of the night. The hotel has a great restaurant in it however we did not eat there this time, maybe that can be my next review.
Overall this is a good hotel for the money. The rate was very reasonable. I would stay here again however I hope they update the rooms, that would make this a 5 star for me.

This review is long overdue. We had our wedding at the Catamaran in September 2015 and it was amazing.
We wanted a beach themed wedding so we scouted out all of San Diego locations for the perfect location. Hands down, the best venue in San Diego for you and your guests to enjoy an amazing scenery and event. We actually got married barefoot in the sand!
We worked with Amber in Catering that went above and beyond what we expected. She was an absolute delight to work with and made us feel like we were the most important people in the world.
The grounds are amazing and our pictures were stunning with the lush, colorful landscape and the backdrop of beautiful Mission Bay.
I have lived in San Diego all my life and never have I had a better view of the entire city than from our suite at the Catamaran. It is absolutely stunning!
If you are looking for a beach wedding or a beautiful setting for a wedding at a very reasonable price, I strongly recommend checking out the Catamaran and giving our new friend Amber a call.
Special thank you to Amber and the rest of the staff of The Catamaran for making our event truly memorable. Our family still talks about how great the food was, how over the top service was, how gorgeous the ceremony was and how beautiful the venue was.

My husband and I chose this place because it was highly recommended by a friend. And boy did he not over sell the place. As soon as you walk into the lobby you’re greeted with a huge water fall and koi pond. The check in process was speedy and the front desk staff very nice. We stayed in a garden room and were placed on the first floor. The grounds are gorgeous and tropical but we don’t ever like being on the first floor of any hotel. Anyways… Our room was a little out dated but nice. All rooms come with a full kitchen. Silverware, dishes, pots and pans all included. All rooms also have balconies. First floor rooms have patios that are not enclosed so not much privacy. The hotel is right up the street from the beach and within walking distance to tons and tons of bars and restaurants. The second day we explored the grounds of the resort and found that the bay behind the resort is gorgeous. It was too cold to rent anything but they have sail boats, pontoons, kayaks, paddle boats and electric paddle boat all for a reasonable fee. We realized the bay view rooms were probably worth the extra money after see what we would be looking at. We went to the front desk to ask if we could move to a bay view room and how much it would cost us. The front desk click clicked on the computer and said they actually had one room open and would upgrade us on the house!!! We were blown away because we weren’t expecting that. First floor to 12th floor and what a difference it made! We loved our new room and the view was breath taking. This is our new go to spot in Pacific Beach and will be back again and again.

Very outdated. The pictures on the website made this place look soooo appealing. Room wasn’t ready until 2 pm (conf attendee). They were doing renovations outside our room/​floor, which was noisy. Property is on the bay, steps away from the walk/​strand on bayside. Less than a few blocks behind is the ocean and its strand. Great for walking!!! Close to shops, eateries, aquatic sports equipment rentals etc. I love the island feel but the furniture and décor in rooms, tiles and wallpaper, very outdated and old. The worst part that earned this only a 2 star, is that 3 of the 4 nights there were guests directly above us that were freaking LOUD. They kept opening the sliding door which felt like an earthquake to us. It was so loud! This occurred with guests on both sides of us (room 659). I could hear the guy above our room (7th floor) peeing too. Literally could hear him in his bathroom and pissing into the toilet!!! I heard every conversation that couple said as well.
I do not recommend staying in the tower, not worth the upgrade and extra $$$ for bay view, the noise level of next door/​above unit and below unit is ridiculous.
Oceano Kitchen (restaurant) had killer French toast tho!
This hotel houses conferences through out year. Can get busy.
1÷12÷16 — second review:
Upon our departure the hotel supervisor was there and I explained what happened on our last night (rowdy parties/​illegal activity/​disruptive activity entire night — morning). He comped our last night. That went a long way with me. We will try to come back with our teenagers and stay in the main building– NOT the Tower.

PORTER RANCH, CA
The customer service at this place is terrible as far as the management goes — we checked in last night at around 1am. My little one woke up after removing him from the car. I was finally able to almost put him to sleep again once we got to room 704. Then when I felt he was about to sleep I got up to wash up from the trip, and I go to the restroom for the first time and to only notice a puddle on urine on the floor! Gross! This place is filled with kids so I guess it could be expected, but they should have cleaned it up before giving it to me.
So around closer to 2:00am I called and told the front desk the situation and she changed my room to another one and we had to move all our stuff to another room. This obviously woke my son up, and then I had to try to put him to sleep again. Which meant that I didn’t get to sleep till around 4 am! We could have chose any place but we came here and paid extra to stay in a nice place, motel 8 wouldn’t have even had that grossness.
So I feel like that night or day? Stay was a total waste of money and I called after having breakfast in their restaurant and explained a situation to the manager — I asked him if he could comp that night since we are staying a few days and that night wasn’t relaxing or accommodating. He said no — so I asked him if there was anything else he could do for he inconvenience and he said there will be no credit! Lol he thinks that just by changing our rooms it was enough? No respect for the inconvenience to his guests or sleeping children. And because of this situation I am leaving a 1 star I would leave a negative star if I could. So this place is fun but if you think they will have respect for you or if you will feel luxury you won’t. They treat people like motel guests not resort guests. See picture of urine I attached! I think I should dispute charges on my credit card.

Perfect for family reunions. Valeria at the front desk made our three-​room booking perfect by finding us rooms next to each other — no easy feat on Xmas holiday. We had different checkout days, a room extension for two more days, and many other complicated requests she fielded with ease.
We also loved the Oceana Xmas dinner & breakfast, plus ducks & birds & lush atmosphere. We also loved the hotel vicinities — vacation homes and running paths next to the hotel were safe. Definitely exceeded our expectations!

Took our party of 11 here last night for food, ambiance and drinks on the beach… This place hit all the check marks! Staff is great. Food was plentiful and drinks were great. We had a great time and would go again. Only downfall is parking is ridiculously priced but you can get validation for one vehicle. Will do again! Oh and gorgeous at Christmas

We went to celebrate our anniversary and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised! The ground and impeccable, clean, lush, tropical and peaceful. There are ponds with koi, ducks, turtles everywhere and you’re greeted by a beautiful waterfall as soon as you enter the lobby. We were instantly upgraded to a penthouse room with an ocean and city view. The service was outstanding, the food delicious, and the location was romantic. The pricing was fantastic, as well. The birds were a huge bonus and we loved interacting with them! Chadwick was hilarious! We will definitely be back!

Incredibly pleased with our lodging and check in. This is day 3 of our stay and we were upgraded to bay view suite with bread and breakfast package. We have a large balcony that looks out at bay and only separated from the bay by sand and grass.
We have 2 double beds in a separate room from couch table and chairs and TV which is perfect for our gal pal getaway. The linens and beds are excellent. I was so pleased by this and the convenience of the location. It is 19 bucks a day parking but seems like a deal for the proximity to everything ! We have only used our car to get here and walked the rest of the time.
Our breakfasts and waitstaff superb as we dined on waterfront and I had best eggs Benedict gone perfectly subbing tomatoes for me instead of English muffins and yesterday fabulous smoked trout frittata and graciously gave me fruit instead of toast due to gluten intolerance.
The spa is lovely peaceful and elegant but only flaw is you must walk before and after treatment among diners on patio in your dazed and ruffled attire. Our maid also changed our towels but never made our beds hence the 4 stars !

This resort is so beautiful! Waterfall in the lobby with a tropical setting surrounding the property. There are several ponds with koi, ducks and even Macaws and Parrots that speak to you!
The lounge has great drinks and great service, and the restaurant was even better! The service was spectacular as we sat in a rounded booth in front of the jellyfish tank that centers the main dining room. I ordered the duck risotto and it did not disappoint! My husband ordered the filet and it was cooked to perfection with a nice bleu cheese on top.
Wine was perfect, view was perfect, but the rooms are the true gems. We had a tower room that was HUGE and the view was of the town of PB and the beach! GORGEOUS! We were so pleased with the room and the cleanliness of the property in general. Pool was nicely sized with a big hot tub. Too many kids there for our taste, but not annoyingly so.
Overall, I loved it here. We want to renew our vows next year and will be looking here as our first choice :)

We decided to spend our anniversary at the Catamaran. We were immediately greeted by Mariah at the front desk. She was 100% wonderful to us! Her sweet, helpful, sunny-​ness was so refreshing! She hooked us up with an upgraded room for a minimal amount of $. We walked into the room (#532) and were shocked at house awesome it was! It was a bay front suite that had sliding glass doors that open directly to the beach! In the evenings, people were jogging, biking and walking along the walkway, people pulled their patio chairs out into the grass. The atmosphere was so much fun! During the day we laid on the beach, had lunch at Morays, walked across the street to Pacific Beach, and just had a fabulous time! Once we checked in, a knock at our door brought a gentleman carrying a bottle of champagne on ice for us and a beautiful handwritten card for our anniversary! We were so touched by that! We took our beach chairs out into the sand along with our bottle of champagne and toasted our anniversary in the dark, the bay lit with lights all around us. Our time at Catamaran could NOT have been any better! We absolutely hated leaving! Thank you to everyone that made our trip so wonderful! (Especially Mariah!!)

Stayed here recently with my Mom for one night after a long day at the zoo and beaches. Found the deal on
, which was very reasonable for what’s included in this resort stay (~$ 175 per night).
Seeing as this is a resort, it’s very different than standard hotel amenities. We had access to their beach on the bay (FYI, this is actually public, but only resort guests were around when we were there), their pool and jacuzzi, and we were within walking distance of their restaurant and bar.
It’s Polynesian themed and really reminded me of Disney’s poly resort at Disney World ($$$$). The beds were like pillows, the pillows were like clouds. Everything seemed pretty new and clean, but it’s not very modern (didn’t make a difference to me). The staff is pleasant and the maintenance crew was very visible.
The best thing about here is the convenience to just BE at the resort, but I also loved how close we were within walking distance to Mission Beach and other restaurants along the beach (you are one block away!!). I would easily stay here again and absolutely loved the night we had. There seemed to have been a mix in guest demographics, young and older, couples and friends, so it is a terrific option for many!

Beautiful view every morning and amazing sunset in the evenings, we had a great weekend,.
Started with kayaking under the stars, followed by snorkeling, witnessing the beauty beneath the waves was a sight to see. La Jolla cove is amazing.
We ended our 3 day getaway with the luau at the Catamaran. Beautiful setting, we were greeted with a lei and a Mai-​Tai.
Polynesian dancers were great!
I recommend this hotel to all.

Very nice hotel. I’ve never stayed here but we recently had our company summer outing hosted here. It’s an older resort but very well kept. The lobby is beautiful with a waterfall that flows into a small stream where koi and ducks swim in. Following the grounds one will see the koi swimming in the lake with more tropical plants and some exotic birds as well. The lovebirds in the lobby are adorable.
We had lunch set up on the grass outside of the hotel restaurant but before the public beach. The menu consisted of a spring salad, pasta salad, corn on the cob baked potato, bbq chicken, brisket, vegetarian chili, and for dessert lemon cake and brownies. The food was pretty good… plenty of fixings for the baked potato and the meat wasn’t too overdone. The pasta salad was my favorite actually.
The staff during food service was friendly and helpful as well as those who helped us with the games. All in all not a bad day to spend away from work!

Great service! From the moment I arrived until the end. All the staff greeted their customers and the hotel even went above and beyond to surprised my husband and I. When they asked me what was the purpose of our visit in San Diego, I mentioned We were getting elope on Coronado Beach. They upgraded our room to have a view, sent chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and a card signed by staff to our room! How awesome is that!!!
Location: close driving distance to the airport, Balboa Park, Pacific Beach, Sunset Cliff, La Jolla and Sea World.
Parking: $ 19/​day in the parking garage. No elevator so you have to carry your luggage down the stairs. We parked a floor up so it wasn’t a big deal.
Room: We were upgraded to the Bayview Suite. Great view of Mission Bay and the ocean! Had 2 lanai so it was perfect to sit out in the morning with my mimosa. Little outdated and small bathroom, but we didn’t mind as we were out and about. There’s a kitchenette and separate livingroom.
Property: Very well maintained. I didn’t get a chance to visit the fitness area, see the birds, go to their new restaurant or walk out to the bay, but it looked gorgeous from our room. I will definitely do this next time.
Overall, great experience. I will be coming here every anniversary from now on.

Yes, the rooms are dated, once you get over the initial first impression, you will grow to love this resort. The resort was very clean. The hotel fits in with the layed back Mission Beach way of life.
The property is beautiful. Reminded me of Hawaii.
The hotel is centrally located steps from Pacific beach. The bay is also steps away from the hotel.
Employees were very friendly.

Resort is Amazing with quick check-​in and they accommodate you with earlier check in (1PM). The staff is very nice, on point, and always there to help with a smile.
Location of hotel is amazing with onsite bike rentals, bar, restaurant, beach rentals, and other great amenities listed that I wasn’t able to take advantage of. You can walk across the street, and be in the famous Mission Beach, or walk around the hotel and be in the private bay area of the resort.
The rooms are a lil dated and can use a facelift but they keep them clean, good size, and provide all the things you need.

Had the pleasure of visiting the Catamaran today for a work function, so I cannot speak for staying at the resort. The resort itself was not easy to find, if you miss the small sign you will have to do a u-​turn on Mission. The parking was free with validation, $ 10 for valet for the event.
The hotel itself was very charming. Judging by the carpet it’s gotta be at least a decade old, and they’ve maintained it quite well. The lobby is a little stuffy but I like the fountain with foliage inside, it reminds me of Vegas+ the Del. I like the interesting décor, but the best part is the view. The view of mission bay from outside the conference call was awesome, I bet you can get some pretty nice rooms here.

Sonst: grindige Zimmer, schmuddelige Gänge, unangenehme Gerüche, Frühstücksbüffet ein Witz, der Strand an der Bay überbelegt. Nicht von den Marketingbildern täuschen lassen: liegt an der Bucht, zum Pazifik muss man über die Straße. Die Doppelbetten schmal, Badezimmer grausig. Eine herbe Enttäuschung.
