One of, if not the best ceramic place I have ever gone to. I’m not a fan of art, nor do I like to color things. But this place was great!
First off, I love how they do not have a studio fee, so right off the bat, you’re already saving at least $ 12 as an adult!
As you walk in, the environment is very welcoming. You pick out what you would like to paint, and pay up at the front. Then they explain to you how you get your colors and all of that stuff.
I believe the manger was in at the time I went in, and he was funny, friendly, and was an approachable guy. He made sure everyone in the studio was having a great time, and to see if everything was good… Which I found to be very pleasing!
I would definitely be back here soon to paint another mug. Haha.

My daughter painted a sugar bow from during a birthday party. I picked it up the wrapped item and when I got home my daughter opened it up, right in front of me, and we noticed that the spoon was missing. I called Ceramic Café and they told me they were sure that it was included in the wrap and they would not give me another. I requested that the owner call me and didn’t get a call. When I complained to a fellow guest of the birthday party they told me they got it in their package which had nothing to do with a sugar bowl. This place has no clue as to what Customer Service means.

I came here last night with my fiancé since our Groupon was expiring soon. Overall, it was really fun to be creative and glaze your own piece!
Quick tips:
1. Some of the pieces can be pricey. My small teacup/​teapot was $ 30 and a small gnome was $ 28. If possible, I highly recommend using a Groupon ($ 15 for $ 30)
2. You pay for your piece first before sitting down and glazing.
3. You’re not finished before it closes? No problem! just take your piece with you and bring it (and your receipt) the next day to finish.
4. Have fun! There are a lot of materials available to get creative! :)

We bought a groupon (15 for 30) but boy this was expensive! They had a decent collection of ceramics and paints but it was really crowded on a weekend with little kids running around and not enough clean dishes. I had fun but next time I’d only pick one and take my time decorating since it is pay per item.

I was very disappointed with the party I held here last Friday. This is in no reflection on the poor host that was handling our party, but in whomever does the scheduling for this place! I paid $ 55 for a party host, cupcakes and fruit punch. Instead I received a young girl
who was so busy running the register and having to help the entire store
She had no time for our party. I felt terrible for her trying to manage it
all. Had I known I was going to be refilling paints and cleaning the tables
I would of just showed up and took over tables and not paid for a host.
The cupcakes were from vons, I could of made better ones! There were no drinks and when I had to ask where they were, she knew nothing about it.
Instead we received pink lemonade mix served with Dixie cups that
due to how small they were, they needed to be refilled a ton of times by
one of my guests parents, because our host had to run the register!!!
It was very disappointing. I actually wrote the owner requesting my deposit back and received no response which upset me even more. I will not be hosting or recommending this place to my friends. I feel when asking for a non-​refundable
$ 55 deposit that does not even get applied to the party, then you should
make sure that the few things listed are given to the customer. I did not feel
I was given a party host, I certainly didn’t relax! You may want to consider
Staffing schedules the next time you have a party of 10 kids coming in
on a Friday before a holiday!

I went to CeramiCafe last night with a good friend as part of her birthday celebration. I chose this place due to the evening BYO option so that I could bring along a bottle of our favorite wine and a cheese platter. When we arrived, we were a bit overwhelmed with all of the options of things to paint, so it took quite a while to pick a piece and get started on our ideas.
Upon our arrival, there were several tables with kids who were finishing their products from birthday parties. As it got a bit later, a few other groups of ladies came in with wine and snacks.
For the most part, service was really good. I had sent an email requesting a time and asking about the BYO option, and got a prompt reply. When we arrived, our table had a reserved sign for us. The lady at the front counter was friendly and responsive to our questions. I do wish that there had been a few more examples or instructional guides around, as it was our first time there and I just didn’t quite know what to do.
All, in all, we had a great time. We did not feel rushed, and had a lot of fun painting and talking over a bottle of our favorite wine! We get to pick up our finished product in 5 days. I sure hope my cousins like the housewarming gift I made for them!

There’s some false advertising. They said they would give free cheese and crackers on Wednesday, but then we found out later you have to make a reservation to get those. Even though they don’t cost money they still would not give those to us. In general the service, her name was Zoey, seemed strained. She said she would help us with the paint but never did. At least she was willing to help us with essential questions hence the two stars as opposed to one.

Very disappointed with the service here. I came on a Saturday for a friend’s party. 4 of us painted items. Although we had a great time when we were there the issue came with picking up the items. They were supposed to be ready the following Thursday. I came on Saturday instead and only 3 of the 4 pieces were done being glazed and fired. No one called to tell me they would not be ready on the promised date (set by their standards). I live 25 minutes away from the store and am not down in that area frequently so it’s not easy to stop by. We asked about having the final item shipped and they were unable to do that. They basically made no attempt to accommodate THEIR mistake and just told me I had to come back to pick it up later. No discount, no alternative option. If I had known they were not all ready I would have saved myself the trip down. Not the way to treat customers in my opinion.

Came here on the groupon ($ 15 for $ 30) last weekend. I have been to similar businesses before (clay n latte, color me mine) and experienced a lot better customer service than what I experienced here.
Everything as far as the paints, choices of ceramics, etc. was great. They have a lot of different pieces to choose from (vases, figurines, mugs, bowls) to suit all ages. I painted a small chip and dip bowl ($ 20) which I hope to repurpose as a sushi/​soy sauce plate. My friend painted a vase and a small shark figure, both adding to exactly $ 30 without tax. If you’re coming on the groupon, the two pieces have to add to just below $ 30 to allow room for taxes.
The thing that wasn’t so great about this place was the getting started, at other places they give you the full rundown about where to get your paints, water, and how to wipe down the ceramic before you start. All the employees were very young high school boys, which is fine, but they didn’t really give us much direction (mainly on how to get water to wash our brushes). They were very friendly and eventually brought us a bowl of water, but we were wondering for at least 30 minutes whether we’d have to keep reusing our brushes.
I loved stepping in this place on a hot day, the air conditioning was on full force and made painting very relaxing after being in the hot sun. I’d definitely come back here to paint something small, but it definitely gets pricey with bigger items.

I really like the paint collections and ceramics choices here. However, my plate came out crack at the back. They explained that only the glaze is cracked but the plate is ok. But see my pic and you will see why I’m not happy with my only-​glaze-​cracked plate.

I love ceramics places! They are the perfect place for a girls day or even a fun date. The employees at this specific one are wonderful! The selection is fantastic and the prices are totally reasonable! I love that they have a mosaic section also.
Unfortunately, I will not be retuning to this location due to poor business practices by the owner. Although our service (by a young female employee) was excellent, we witnessed the owner be horribly rude to another customer that had spent several hours painting an item with her little boy only to be told the price that she was quoted at the beginning was incorrect (because of misuse of a coupon on the store’s part). I watched this poor woman and her young son walk out disappointed because of the last minute price increase that the owner refused to let go. The woman, totally in the right, left her painted item on the table.
I believe they, as a business owner, you stand behind your employees mistakes… Especially when the customer has worked for several hours on the project!
Luckily, there are plenty of other ceramics places close by with much better service!

I was surprised with a date here some months ago. There’s a BYOB wine option where you bring booze and CC supplies a plate of cheese/​meats for you. I believe it’s a $ 10 reservation fee which is then applied to the ceramic piece of your choice.
The studio was ridiculously busy that night. I’m not sure if there’s zero air inside or if it’s hot/​stuffy as all frek because of the kiln in the back. Regardless, it makes having an enjoyable date kinda difficult (a long with the hoards of kids/​parents that particularly evening).
The staff is young and not as enthusiastic about showing you how to do much. We told them we had a reservation for the wine option but they couldn’t find it as first. Regardless, I don’t think they were prepared and we’re pretty sure one of them ran to the Ralph’s next door to get some cheese/​crackers/​salami. We were also a bit weary about the wine ‘goblets’ they used as glasses for the wine (we weren’t sure if the goblets were cleaned as there was no soap anywhere in the studio that day).
Every clay item there (for you to paint and decorate) is ridiculously expensive. We actually choose a football shaped platter to paint together as nothing else seemed to catch our eye.
The process was fun and it was a nice date. You pick up your finished piece a few days later. We didn’t think we did a great job painting/​decorating platter but we ain’t Picasso so whatever.
So consider the wine/​cheese option next time. I’d suggest calling the day of though and confirming with them the reservation so that there’s no confusion when you get there.
They are now located on the top floor by Ralphs and by Geppetto’s, I called to inquire about their suite # and the girl there said it’s D7.

5-​stars if you’re doing it with the Groupon! I’m not sure if it’s still on the site, but it’s $ 15 for $ 30 worth of products.
Came here to do something different on our anniversary. They have a wide array of ceramics you can pick from and prices ranging from around $ 12-​$ 45. Maybe more or less, I didn’t check all products. Everything you do is included in the price of the ceramic you’re painting, so paint away and use as many stencils and whatever else you want. They also do some stained glass. Not exactly sure how that works, but I overheard some people talking about it.
There is a poster on the wall regarding painting techniques, but make sure you’re using at least three coats of paint, especially your base colors, because you don’t want naked spots to show through after they’ve been glazed and put in the fire.
I painted a medium sized container for dog treats, came out to $ 38+tax, so had to pay $ 8 since it was over the $ 30 Groupon. Boyfriend painted a dog and it came out to a little under $ 30, so we didn’t have to pay any extra.
Definitely come here with some patience because the painting takes a lot longer than I realized. We were here for 3 hours and definitely could have been here longer if we were painting bigger items or were painting with more detail. Towards the end we were tired and ready to go home.
Also, make sure to make an appointment. Unless you’re getting here right when they open, there is a good chance they’ll be packed. We called and they recommended making an appointment just to be on the safe side. Glad we did because by the time we were leaving, every table was occupied.
The people working here were really friendly, quick to clean up every table/​mess to prepare it for the next people to sit down, and brushes and ceramic plates to put paint on were being washed constantly.
I’ve never done ceramics before, so I didn’t know it wouldn’t be all done the same day. Definitely something to know. We painted on a Sunday and our stuff won’t be available for pick up until Friday. Luckily, I work in Del Mar, so the drive here on Friday won’t be out of my way, but it totally would have been otherwise.

I had a great time here. Found the place on groupon for a good deal. It was a new and nice experience.

This is a perfect place to bring kids! My cousins and I chose this place for our bonding activity and it was a success! Each person picked out something to paint (there is something for everyone, functional or display) and got to work! We spent an hour talking and painting. The workers were friendly and helpful with our questions. I thought the smell of paint would give me a headache but the paint didn’t have any strong fumes. We are planning another visit with more cousins soon!

I am 24 years old. That is probably about 3x older than the average customer age here, but I do not care.
I loved it.
I came here with my boyfriend (also 24 years old), and a now 27 year old ahjushi. No children in tow, just 3 adults wanting to paint some ceramics.
Service here is super friendly, and they got us started right away. We came about 2 hours before closing and used every minute of it! If you are a slow worker, give yourself AMPLE time. I was done pretty early, but bf and ahjushi took the whole time.
They have a ton of pieces to choose from, and all the stamps/​paints/​brushes/​sponges/​stencils you can imagine, so you can really make whatever you like! I made a mug that I love, boyfriend made a little pirate statue that is super cool, and ahjushi haraboji made a mustache mug that is pretty nice!
They tell you when you’ll be able to pick up your pieces, and if it for some reason breaks before you pick it up, you get to do it again for free! Nice assurance, I guess.
I would recommend for families, groups of children, or adults! I loved it. I believe they offer groupons from time to time as well, so check for that before coming here to save some $$.

We went here for a fun girls night and to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. Since it was an evening affair, we were allowed to bring snacks and even wine to the event which was really cool… so, made me think that the workers were cool, right? Ummm… not so much the case.
I arrived 15 minutes after the rest of the girls due to another engagement and they had already picked their items to paint. I quickly picked out a plate and went to the front to pay for the item. While I’ve done ceramics before, I had not done it here so was looking for a little instruction from them. I found the girl to be very cold and not interested in the least to provide just a tad of information. Maybe she was irritated that I was late and didn’t start with the rest of our party, I thought.
Through our 3 hour visit when we’d approach them with a question or additional supplies, they proceeded to treat us with poor service and were not attentive at all. It was clear they did not want to be there or help us in any way. In fact, I think they would’ve greatly appreciated it if we did not interact with them in any way.
I figured it might’ve been an off night for them but when we went to pick up our finished items, I received the same cold treatment I experienced the night of our first visit. Different girls so I take it that CeramiCafe doesn’t train their employees to provide great customer service. Because of this, I prefer not to visit this place in the future. I only spent $ 15 here and it was $ 15 too much. I won’t be back… but at least I got a really cute plate out of it and the girls and I had fun despite their poor customer service.

Great place to come with your kids for a weekend project. Great quality time together. I came here with my daughter a few times so far. Great project. lots of selections of colors to work with. The staff is very helpful with ideas and questions. takes about 5 days for them to fire the ceramics and then ready for pick up. I will defenetly come back with my kids and recomend it to others.
