Challenge Island is a fun, whimsical enrichment program that promotes creative and critical thinking skills in children. Loosely based on a well-​known reality TV show, our program divides kids into cooperative tribes to take on a vast array of exciting challenges set on action-​packed thematic islands. Our innovative programming reinforces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and core language arts skills.

What makes Challenge Island different from other STEM programs? Students learn by testing and then refining their results through multiple experiments. Rather than giving children a formula to produce a set outcome, we give them a range of materials and then guide them through a course of self-​directed learning – helping them to truly absorb and master the concepts behind the lessons, while also teaching them important qualities such as persistence, patience, confidence and collaboration.

Established in 2014.

Although new to the area, Challenge Island has been in business since 2003. It is currently in 12 states and is growing rapidly throughout the U.S.
