Looking for a place after our soccer tourney. So glad we found this one! George is so friendly, how can you not love it! Came in and he gave my son a tray of hand cut French fries right off the bat. Said to take our time ordering and served us two craft beers (from Stone brewery) while we ordered as it’s just $ 2 bucks added on to make a combo! And happy hour is just 3.99 beers I believe. We got the Chicago dog, Packer Brat and Da Beef (my son got it without the peppers tho). First time having a Chicago dog and it was really good. All were huge portions and came with even more fries. Thanks George, we will definitely be back!

Their food is delicious! Not just «good for the price» delicious, but actually really good. I was hesitant to try this place at first because I’ve been to places with rave reviews about how delicious and affordable the food is, only to be disappointed by cheap food. But not here — the food is actually delicious. It’s just an added bonus that the food is extremely affordable. $ 11 for a juicy, delicious lamb burger, perfectly crips fries, and iced cold local craft beer! (By the way, the Whole Foods in La Jolla Village Drive also has $ 10 for burger and beer on Thursdays at their little restaurant/​bar. The burgers at Whole Foods do not compare at all — the meat has been bone dry every time.)
Also, I’m a big fan of supporting local family owned businesses, so I tend to bias my reviews in their favor (and I believe others do as well). But again, not in this case — the food here stands on its own.
Oh, and they serve their beer in ice cold glasses! Chicago Fire Grill totally lived up to the hype.

Wow. Where do I start. Lot of personality here. George is the best. Genuine hospitality and you instantly know you are I good hands. He takes a lot of pride in the meals he offers.
Best burger I have had in very long time.

Great food, great staff, great location, and a phenomenal beer selection. This place is a hidden gem. Also George, the owner, could not be nicer and Lexi made us feel welcome. I’ll be back often.

You know I’m probably just like you, and nothing like the last guy below. I don’t game the system for free food or profit but I recognize a great value when I see it. Chicago Fire Grill is delicious, the burger was bigger than the bun and came out medium just like I ordered it. The fries are amazing and who can argue with a $ 2 beer? No one, that’s who.
The owner is the coolest and will sit down and have a conversation with you if he isn’t busy feeding you.
Do yourself a favor and grab a burger or a dog. Do it, do it, do it.

Tomas and Brian are bi, but the food is delicious. The girls are lovely and George is a very distinguished gentleman. No seriously, Brian and Tomas are so bi. They’re making out.

$ 10 for HUGE burger, fries + craft beer? DONE.
The owner is very funny and he says it’s cheap because he hand cut the fries and it’s never packaged meat. Most of expenses come from packaging and pre prepared stuff.
Overall I highly recommend stopping by if you love burgers!

I’ll admit, freely, that I typically only write reviews to get free stuff (e.g. Free beer, 10 $ off the meal, free fries, etc.) the reason I am telling you this is to make a statement that this place’s food is off the charts. You should go here. Lunch, dinner, beer with a buddy whatever the reason you should go here.
This very second I am writing a review and there is absolutely no benefit to me personally in the short to medium terms and that is surprising to me.
This place is a no nonsense, focus on the food and the customer kind of place. The kind of food spot you have nostalgia for when you’re living away from home. The owner doesn’t give a sh-​t about profit margins and just cares about the food. I’m a fan.
Ergo this place has incredible food at great prices and I felt compelled to write this.

This place has relatively cheap food. A Chicago dog and fries was $ 5. The dog was good (and correctly made) and the fries were surprisingly good.
My boyfriend got the Italian beef sandwich and he ended up getting sick after, so we probably won’t be back. I liked my food though!

Great deals!!! $ 10 gets you a craft beer, fries (hand cut), and sandwich if your choice.
They gave delicious salads and a soup for only $ 3.50

Had to eat here twice before writing a review to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. ½ lb Lam burger, hand cut fries (didn’t know that made a difference before trying these), and a pint of craft for 10 $
It’s the little things that make some places stand out… This place is a shooting star

This is the kind of place that makes you want to bring everyone you know to experience the food and hospitality. The owner George is awesome, so friendly. The food speaks for itself. Chicago FIRE grill, as in, everything here is absolutely fire. We were in LA Jolla on vacation for 5 days and came here 4 times. Get da beef and da sausage in the same sandwich, out of this world.

One of the best if not the best burger I’ve had ever. All the ingredients were super fresh and were cooked to perfection. The burger was unbelievably juicy. Fries were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Burger patty was perfectly medium cooked. Egg on the burger for the breakfast in America had a great runny yoke. The Greek burger was so tasty with feta and tzatziki sauce. The owner was also a really great guy to talk to and you could tell he put a lot of care into the burger and knew what he was talking about. Honestly can not wait to go again!

½ lb burger w/​egg & bacon, fries, and a stone IPA for only $ 10?!? And it’s great quality? I’ll be back soon.
Suggestions for business: Once revenues pick up a sign and improved interior décor could help the appearance. But word of mouth is great so far!

Wow!!! Tried the «Packer Brat w/​Cut Fries.» O M G!!! The high quality fresh ingredients are all well prepared and stand out individually & collectively to deliver absolute top-​dog status :)
Of course the «Brat» is the deserving center piece and anchor of the meal. The spiced premium protein is topped with all delish: deli mustard, grilled onions and sour kraut, cradled in an ultra-​fresh toasted bun (happily devoid of typical icky oil/​commercial butter).
On the side, Chicago Fire Grill’s «cut fries» are even better and vastly superior to my long standing competing fav hand-​cut fries at In-​n-​Out.
Per the cashier’s recommendation, made the meal a combo for $ 2.00 to include a pint of craft beer of your choosing.
In summary, I’m a newly self-​appointed devotee of this hidden gem; and will return shortly to sample one of their sumptuous looking burgers.

Good to great burgers, made to order, with stellar beer deals and service.
The food: Burgers, dogs, and sausage all cooked to order, served on ciabatta buns or rolls with a variety of «styles» of toppings from American to Greek to Italian. Try the Greek Town burger, made from a lamb/​beef mix. Salads available, and they might be good (I didn’t order one), but I’d go for the burger. The fries that come with all the sandwiches ($ 8 incl) are hand-​cut, and cooked when you order.
The drinks: Standard soda fountain, but also some great local beer (a little too much Stone for me, but that’s just me). When we went, they had 3 different Stone beers, Cali Creamin’ from Mother Earth, and Alesmith’s Li’l Devil. Not a bad lineup and, get this, adding one to your $ 8 burger/​fries adds just 2 bucks. Beer is normally $ 4/​pint, $ 3 during «happy hour» from 2−5pm.
The service: Start a conversation with the guys behind the counter. They’re awesome. The place was jumping, but our food still came out as it was ready, hot, and within 10 minutes of ordering.
We’ve added this place to our lunch rotation. Thanks for the grub, guys!

As you can see by how many reviews I’ve written, I do not review places often. But I feel compelled to write this review as the experience my girlfriend and I had at this family owned here was nothing short of amazing.
So let’s get it out of the way, $ 10 burger, beer, and fries. This was a special for the day but the prices generally are excellent. For what you get, you really can’t beat the price. The meat is all from local butchers and cattle, the meat quality is excellent. I got the «Breakfast in America» which is a burger with bacon and a fried egg on top on ciabatta buns. It was Amazing. Meat was perfectly medium rare (my request). Egg was oozy but not runny. Ciabatta was crispy but not dry.
One This particular day they were running 3 stone beers on draft. They let me sample the beer before i bought it. Which I thought was nice. The beer selection is small (by choice) but good. They also do frosty iced glasses for the beer.
George, the owner came out and chatted with us, gave our dog, Henry, some bacon and meat. We chatted about the place a little. You can definitely see he has a passion for this place as well as providing a great customer service experience for his patrons. VERY DOG FRIENDLY FOR YOU DOG OWNERS OUT THERE.
If you want a great burger and want to support a family owned business do yourself a favor and give this place a try. It’s quaint, simple, with a bomb ass burger. I’ll definitely be coming back here very soon!
Quick tips:
— they are fast here, great lunch place if you work locally and need to eat during the lunch hour.
— they are really accurate with the rarity of the meat. My gf got rare, I got medium rare (which I feel is hard to do) they got both perfect.
— As of the time of this review they are hiring, so you UCSD college students should inquire.

Fresh Potatoes before flash fry, fresh grass fed beef for the burgers, nice soft poppyseed bun, add a craft beer? +2 $ !!!

Things that YOU like about Chicago: Belushi (John more than James), Walt Disney (yes — it’s true), Tina Fey (Awesome Palin!), Chris Farley, Mr. Hefner, Chicago Fire Grill, & Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. WHAAA?!! You never heard of the Chicago Fire Grill?
I have this friend who just raves and raves about how awesome Philly cheese-​steaks are, and I keep telling him of these awesome sliced Italian Beef hoagies that they got in Chicago. Then one of our Cali friends will sheepishly squeak, ‘But we have ‘In-​N-​Out’!’.
And we just sigh because he just doesn’t get it.
Sometimes you just want a sandwich with attitude. A big ol’ Chicago-​style attitude.
Chicago Fire grill makes FRESH, thickly sliced Italian Beef Hoagies («Da Beef») — the type of sandwich where the juice just flows all over your face — and you are happy about it. You gotta get it slathered with hot peppers and grilled onions. Had the Greek Burger today — huge lamb patty with a huge dollop of homemade tzatziki (nice flavor combination). This is going to be your calorie-​friendly restaurant — far better than that chain with the peanuts on the floor, or the one where you instruct/​train the guy behind the sandwich counter on how to do his job (I said «Onions» you Slacker!!). This place is different, you get FED in Chicago!
Restaurant is pretty new (maybe less than a week?) and really sparse on the décor. However, the line was out the door (news travels fast). They have special going on where you can get a Burger, Fries, & Brew for $ 10. Spruce up the place a bit and this may be the new neighborhood hangout.

I guess JKs is gone and the new owners are Chicago Fire Grill. Recently opened from the looks of it. Smallish menu at the moment which I am sure will expand later as they feel out the crowds.
Got a Maxwell with feta fries. The fries are crispy which is a plus and the Maxwell is good enough for me. He was trying to promote Italian beef, now being from Chicago, those are the more well known items besides pizza, Italian Beef and Maxwell Polish. The Maxwell is actually pretty nice size and comes with grilled onions and a pickle. Enjoyed. Will come back.
Warning, this Renaissance Center mall has plenty of choices for food (also saw Poke coming soon) so the parking lot gets filled up quick. Go early or late if you want to find parking.
