Description

Specialties

Being the first deli in San Diego, we are proud to offer 65 different style sandwiches all made with «Boars Head» brand meats and cheeses. (Nobody beats our HOT pastrami) Established in 1956 we have developed a reputation for our sandwiches and offer over 300 beers to choose from, especially rare, limited releases and new seasonals from your favorite breweries. We also have a full line of liquor & wine with plenty of parking so you can come in and experience what everone is talking about. Our fall special 6 after 6 has started. All sandwiches are only $ 6 after 6 pm everyday.

History

Established in 1956.

My father Chris, opened the store in 1956 in the little town of Ocean Beach, Ca. As time went on he traveled to San Francisco where he saw a deli in a store also selling alcoholic beverages. With this in mind he brought the idea to San Diego and opened San Diego’s first deli, and the rest is history.

Meet the Business Owner

Gregg S.

Business Owner

I first worked in the family business in 1972 while in Junior High School, walking over the hill after school to «Victory Liquor» where I spent the next 10 years learning the ropes of Retail from my father Chris, who to this day at 89 still comes by to make sure quality is not compromised. Always having a appreciation for food, I then took took over Chris’s Deli and quickly remodeled the outside and renovated the deli, adding 30 more gourmet sandwiches to the menu to lure in more customers. Well it’s 2013 and I’m still here making sure my customers are getting quality service and a great sandwich.
