Clairemont Mortuary

Naturally, it was for a sad occasion that we had to call and employ the services of Clairemont Mortuary. The attention and compassion we received from Dorothy (and Christina and Linda) as we made funeral arrangements was heartfelt and genuine. They were all very accommodating and flexible throughout the entire process. They took care of our needs and were wonderful in the organization of the funeral and the additional services.
Hopefully we won’t be in need of a mortuary for a while, but when we do, we definitely will go back to Clairemont Mortuary.

The Clairemont Mortuary did a great job at helping our family through this difficult time. The building is spacious, with lots of room for decorations and rest areas for relatives. With adequate parking space and a clean interior, this mortuary is the perfect size. The staff truly brought their comfort and compassion to us. Frank, Linda, Dorothy, and David provided especially professional service. With the Clairemont Mortuary, we were able to have a beautiful and respectful funeral for our father. We are grateful for their help.

Well, I can’t say I wish the experience of losing a loved one to anyone. But if there’s a mortuary who does their absolute best to make it as easy for the grieving family as absolutely possible, it’s Clairemont Mortuary. The Mortuary Manager (Dorothy) and the Staff Associate (Linda) who helped our family were the absolute best! Dorothy and Linda helped us put on a viewing and funeral service in 9 days and were very professional, sympathetic, sensitive to our requests, always were easily reached whenever we called or e-​mailed them, and took so much of the stress out of the process as they could. We called and inquired often, Dorothy and Linda were so kind and the level of service provided to us by the two of them was outstanding. You could tell from the first time we met them, that this wasn’t something they just get paid to do, but that they love to help make this time for families who have lost a loved one as easy as it could be and it’s evident in the way they treat the families.
They were able to accommodate every request we made. Our family who was visiting from the Philippines even commented on how well a job they did with their service provided for my mom’s funeral. I will gladly recommend Clairemont Mortuary to all our friends, family, and close acquaintances if they’re ever in need of services after losing a loved one. I know my mom was very happy with the hard work that Dorothy, and especially Linda had given my dad, my brother, and me during this very difficult time. Kudos to Clairemont Mortuary for treating us so well this past week and a half!

To make a long story short. My mom was told she’d get a discount if she wrote a good review. I asked Linda and Frank what kind of equipment they had to accommodate a slide show. Linda was very rude bc she didn’t know the answer. When I called Frank he backed her up. I then wrote a bad review unknowing about the agreement between him and my mom.
At the funeral, Frank hassled my mom and was trying to force her to make me not only delete my review but lie and tell everyone we had great service. If I did not, he was going to charge her more money. It was very distasteful and caused my whole family to fight.
Horrible horrible service. Frank eventually apologized and I deleted the review out of respect for my mother. She did not talk to me for months even though I have a small infant. She missed those months with her only granddaughter bc Frank is for lack of a better word a d**k. I can’t get those months back Frank and now that my mom is talking to me again, I am free to say exactly what I think of you and this place. You make me sick. We’re never coming back here and I recommend whoever is reading this to take a good look at the reviews and determine for yourself whether or not they are true and save yourself a heart break. STAY AWAY!

I was given the pleasure of working with Dorothy Castillo and Linda Balcerzak during this extremely difficult time for myself and my family. With the recent loss of my Mom on October 20^th, 2015 I had to step up and figure out where to have my mom’s services at. I had been to Clairemont Mortuary for a service before so I decided to give them a call. From the moment I called and spoke to Dorothy I knew this was where I wanted to have her services at. The customer service was above and beyond my expectations. I was blessed to work with Linda as well, she met me at the Cemetery to see my mom one last time before they cremated her she comforted me and made me feel better with her kind words, she felt like family to me. On the day of my mom’s services I walked in the Mortuary feeling a bit nervous but when I saw How BEAUTIFUL the set up was all I could do was cry. Linda greeted me and gave me a hug and said I wanted to make it beautiful for your Mom and she outdid herself. I just want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful staff at Clairemont Mortuary.

Facilities: We had a memorial service for my grandfather followed by a reception. We had about 70+ people that the chapel and reception room easily accommodated. The entire facility was tastefully decorated and well maintained.
Customer service: All of our requests and needs were attended to in a timely and respectful manner. In times like these it was a reassurance to have such a professional staff that took care of us so well.
The day of the memorial Linda was kind, courteous, organized and gracious. The event was well planned with absolutely no issues.

Frank and Linda handled the details of my husband’s sudden passing with wonderful grace and compassion. They were also very accommodating of my MIL’s wishes which were quite sensitive. They were able to provide much needed guidance during a devastating time.

Frank & .Linda are two of the best and did a great job helping get past a very rough time.
Frank went way out of his way to do everything and leave us to grive or loss. Frank and Linda impressed me enough that I will plan my service at Clairemont Mortuary.

They told me that he was very caring and compassionate as well as a specialist in VA matters as my grandfather, who passed away was a veteran. I have had the opportunity to work with Frank Manzano and his coworkers twice as they handled the burial details for my parents. We had a pre arranged plan which made things very simple, however nothing could have made this difficult situation easy without such caring, kind and efficient support from them. All of the details were handled with great professionalism and my family did not have to worry about a single thing. I felt completely at ease that all would be done just as we wanted. My husband and I are now in the process of getting our own pre arranged plan and will not hesitate to return to Clairemont Mortuary and Frank to handle it. Thank you very much!

Let’s face it, if you have to use a mortuary for a loved one, life sucks at the moment. However, these folks are caring, helpful, kind, and compassionate. I have heard horror stories about up sales and pushy sales people trying to get you to spend your life savings on a coffin. Not here. Dorothy is awesome. She did exactly as we asked and took care of business with kindness. This place is the way to go when life sucks. Thank you Dorothy, your help was priceless.

What an excellent service we got from Clairemont Mortuary. Frank Manzano was very helpful in providing us all the information we need and made all the funeral arrangement necessary for our mom, Lily S Ginete. My family was extremely pleased with the care and service we received by all the staff at Clairemont Mortuary while arranging the funeral service for our Father, a WWII Veteran. Frank M. was fantastic helping us through this difficult time with ease and comfort, as well as Mike coordinating and making sure the service went smoothly. Our family was so pleased with the services that Clairemont Mortuary provided. Dorothy, Linda and David paid very close attention to every detail to ensure that my grandmother’s service went beautifully and smoothly. They were attentive, kind and respectful. The flowers they provided were gorgeous. The video of my grandma’s photos was absolutely wonderful. When a loved one passes, there is not only sadness, but also confusion and a lot of other emotions and family dynamics. They handled our family with grace and understanding.

I just experienced one of the most difficult times in my life-​losing my dad. I didn’t know where to turn or what to do to make arrangements. I’m so grateful to have made the call to Clairemont Mortuary. Frank was incredible throughout the entire process. You hear horror stories about hidden costs and pushy sales – there is none of that here. Frank was upfront with every cost. There was nothing pushed on me. He was kind and sincere and I truly appreciate him and the entire staff.

The entire team was very helpful in helping my family make arrangements for my Uncle. Frank, Dorothy, David and Linda Bethea did a superb job. Thank you for everything you guys did.

Wow!!! There’s so much I can say about this place! Two words ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! My 16yr old brother Deion passed away 3 months ago from pneumonia, and we didn’t know what to do we weren’t prepared. Dorothy and Frank were the most caring empathetic persons through our entire experience. My mom struggled the most through the entire process, both Dorothy and Frank kept in contact with her and made sure she was getting exactly what she needed, we had Deion cremated and for his service there gave us the time and needed space to celebrate, Dorothy even called my mom after to check in her. Thank you Clairemont Mortuary, Dorothy and Frank for helping us celebrate Deion I highly recommend them if there ever comes a time when you to go through such sad time.

Dorothy was incredibly compassionate and kind from beginning to end. Although it’s extremely difficult to find anything pleasant about a loved one passing, she definitely made our experience as easy and painless as possible. She treated me and my family with the utmost respect, was clear and upfront about all costs and the timeline in which things would happen. Thank you again, Dorothy for all you have done for us. Your kindness will be remembered!

We recently planned our service for my husband who passed unexpectantly. We were very pleased with the funeral director Frank Manzano and Rev. Powers. They guided us, offered advice and let us make the service personalized. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Thank you for making this difficult situation a little easier.

I recently attended a retired co-​worker funeral services. They had the usual stuff you woud expect, nice stained glass, highly polished pews, a funtional PA system. However, the very strong odor of urine in the back of the chapel was bothersome and very unpleasant, to say the least as we said our goodbyes to a friend.
