CMC Kitchen & Bath

Tried my best to like Sam and crew, but in the end he really let us down. To the point we’re not even willing to call him back for the ceiling fan that won’t turn on, the shower fixture falling off wall, and towel racks I’ve had to reinstall myself. Took 3 months to complete a master bath and bedroom remodel while we slept on the floor in the living room. The final interaction with him has caused us to look elsewhere to repair poor work because just can’t bring ourselves to even talk to him again. All I can say is buyer beware as he came as a recommendation.

I just finished a total remodel of my home and had a fantastic experience with CMC Kitchen and Bath. I have worked with a number of contractors before and will use CMC Kitchen and Bath in the future for any other remodels. They were able to finish my project on time and on budget with high quality work and detail throughout.
The team from CMC gave me a number of good ideas during my remodel process. In total, I remodeled my kitchen, wetbar, three bathrooms and replaced my carpet with hardwood floors. For example, the CMC team removed the wall separating my kitchen and living room, which helped to create a great room, an open kitchen and make my living space look much larger. For the kitchen counter, the team used caesar stone, which looks fantastic paired with the high quality solid wood cabinets. My bathrooms had a variety of tile schemes and now look super modern (like the W hotel).
Every time my friends come over to visit, they give me a number of complements on the design and the remodel work. Thank you CMC Kitchen and Bath for doing such a great job!

CMC remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. Bo was helpful in choosing materials and making a majority of the plans come to fruition. The things I like most about the remodel are the quality of wood cabinets by J&K and the tiles used in the bathroom. I have to give kudos to the contractor who installed our tiles (Eleganza) and backsplash. He was a perfectionist and did an impeccable job. The team who put together our cabinets also did a great job. No issues here. The team of contractors are hard working and do their best. The renos were finished close to the estimated finishing date.
In going through with a kitchen and bath reno, you have to account for things to go wrong and for fixtures and parts to arrive late, or not be in stock at your local Home Depot or Lowes. My advice before you start a kitchen and bath overhaul is to clearly plan what you want. Choose materials and fixtures, making sure the parts are compatible with each other. You will have to buy fixtures on your own, such as bathroom lamps, faucets, electrical outlets and switches, light fixtures (excluding recessed lighting), drains, toilet paper holder, shower curtain rod, etc. In addition, we also purchased and had our shower door installed by RB Mirror and Glass.
I am 90% satisfied with the work done by CMC. A star knocked off because our light and ceiling fan, which were working fine before, were busted through electrical light/​dimmer switch issues; contractor pencil marks were hard to erase on newly painted walls; towel racks were not correctly installed; and I asked for a glass corner cabinet in the kitchen but got a solid wood one (still nice but not what I wanted). In place of the said ceiling fan, we now have a nice chandelier, installed by my husband, which fits the space better, but that wasn’t the original plan. Also, I wanted an electrical outlet on the skinny side of our island/​peninsula for easy plug-​in for my cooking appliances, and the more I brought this up the more I felt that I was a nuisance and that it would be a huge inconvenience to them. Basically, I felt dismissed and ignored and didn’t get what I specifically asked for. In retrospect, it’s like, «Hey, I’m the customer!» A small disappointment that it isn’t there. Actually a huge one because the peninsula is where I like to do my prep work with my gadgets, and to have to plug them in on the other living room side just really irks me. (First-​world problem, I know.)
All in all, we wanted a beautiful, high-​endish kitchen and nice bathrooms and we got them. I feel grateful that I no longer have to look at our original, butt-​ugly 70s kitchen and bath anymore. I don’t want to live through any major renovations in the near future, though. Even when you aren’t doing them yourself, it still involves a bunch of headaches.

We had a horrible experience with CMC and regret even having them work on our kitchen and bath. They claim to have a contractors license. However the person that has the license does not even step foot in your home. They send people that they contract to do the work and they break more than they fix. They had to re-​do our kitchen counter three times, because they could not get it correct. They do not clean up after themselves and leave their equipment and materials all around your home. They arrive late and expect you to be greatful that they even showed up. Do yourself a favor and do not be fooled by their add and look for a different company

Horrible!!! I understand you are busy but please do not lie. I honestly feel like our job was too small or something that this company felt like they could brush us off. My husband and I went into the showroom floor to get info for updating our kitchen (backsplash) and guest bathroom (countertop and tub backsplash). That visit was just ok since we were only able to talk to a driver because all the sales people were out. We then was told to call and make an appt so they can come out to do measurement. Sam called and confirm appt the day before but never showed! He had my husband waiting at the house for our appt time and never called to cancel or anything! Worst service ever!!!

My husband and I went to CMC a couple of weeks ago for an estimate for our kitchen remodel. We had taken measurements and even gave them a copy of our plans, selected a style and color of cabinetry, and were told we’d have an email estimate in 2 days. Two weeks later, and no estimate. Is the economy doing that great that companies don’t need local business? Epic fail.

We found this place through the local ‘clipper’ magazine and decided to check it out. Their ad stated they were open on Saturday from 8 – 5. We arrived at 10.
However, there were no salespeople present at the showroom. There was one guy there who showed us where the granite was, jokingly told us he was only there to feed the fish, and to call his salespeople to set up an in-​home consultation or to come back at 12.
To be honest, it was a big waste of time.

CMC has a very nice showroom of all the different types of materials they supply and install. But the real reason why I decided to write a review on Unilocal was because of their quality of service and their business ethics. I was referred to CMC by my realtor. This was actually after I had scheduled an appointment for estimation and installation with another company. I had also taken a lot of pictures of the material I selected. I told my realtor this and she said to just go in anyways and ask the people at CMC what they thought. I was extremely hesitant because I wanted to avoid an awkward situation, of asking a company if choosing another was a wise choice. To make a long story short, Bo, the man who I spoke to, reviewed my pictures, asked me what the other company’s rates were and what it included. He advised me to call and ask them about some specifics that concerned him and told me exactly what to ask. When I got all the questions answered, I told Bo. He said, yup, I should go ahead and use them. He told me if I had any problems, to let him know and he could take a look. Wow.

CMC is a fantastic company to remodel your home. My wife and I shopped and got estimates from several large and small contractors and Bo Lin is the best. Complete kitchen, living and dining plus bar area. The workmanship and quality were great. Job done before proposed deadline and no hidden costs. After sale issue (minor) handled promptly at no charge. As the General Manager of a large San Diego Car Dealership I know how to spot an honest and efficient business and this certainly is one!
