Gave it five stars for two reasons… Food was very good and the price is reasonable. It’s a sandwich shop with a great view!!!

Read about this place her on Unilocal, and since we were staying at the Hilton just up the road, we stopped here for lunch. Good sandwiches, I had the club, others had the BLT and a chicken salad sandwich. Service was good. It was nice and quiet, staring at the boats while eating. I will definitely stop again when I’m in the area.

Great sandwich place! Unfortunately, it’s been closed for the last couple of weeks. I’ve called and no answer, and driven over there. NADA!!!

I was tired of having lunch at our hotel during a business trip so I walked over to this cute little owner operated deli. I had the roast beef on sourdough bread, the bread was super fresh and tasty, generous portion sandwich. My associate had the chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries and he very much enjoyed it. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Indoor and outdoor seating with a beautiful view. If your in the area and just want a nice deli sandwich, I highly recommend stopping in. You have to walk around the back of the building.

Amazing sandwiches, definitely not exaggerating when they claim to have to have the best sandwich on the island. California Club on toasted sourdough is incredible, this place is the best bang for the buck on the island. Only complaints are that it’s cash only and that it closes before dinner time.

I had one of the best sandwiches and general lunch experiences that I have had in a very long time and I can’t wait to tell you all about. It was all very simple. Nothing extravagant, and that is kind of the point. So, my friend and I happened upon this deli while taking my dog for a walk on Harbor Island Boardwalk. It is just so pretty there: beautiful boats are docked on the water side, and retail shops, this deli and showers for the boaters on the other. I sat outside in the patio area with my lab while my friend ordered lunch inside. He had chicken salad and I had turkey… He brought mine out first, then went back in for his… It occurred to me that he did not bring me a drink of any kind. I presumed he would be right out with something and didn’t want to be a pest, so I said nothing and focused my attention on the sandwich before me. It was these few moments alone with my new sandwich that inspired me to write a review worthy of my first few bites… Here before me sat a very large sandwich: plenty of sliced turkey, with crisp and fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayo between two slices of sourdough… My salivary glands expressed their anticipation and readied my mouth for the first bite. let’s see: moist, fresh, crisp, tasty, yummy, and wow, this really good… all occurred to me as I chomped through my delightful surprise. My friend returned with his chicken sandwich and sat down at our table to enjoy it… I was a bit surprised that he still did not bring out drinks of any kind… The interesting point and secondary inspiration for penning this review, is that by this point I was almost done with one half of this generous sandwich and I realized that it was the ingredients where so fresh and of such superior quality … that I did not need anything to drink… It was moist, yet crisp and fresh… Perfection! The third and final reason that I was inspired to Unilocal this deli, is that when the lunch crowd cleared, the owner(Lynn) came out to check on us … She thoughtfully brought out a bowl of water for my dog… And ultimately, in such a kind and neighborly way, joined us for conversation… incidentally, she noticed our lack of drinks too and with almost matronly concern, asked us what beverages she could run in and get for us… We both smiled and reassured her that we were ok with the wonderful sandwiches that she had made for us. I highly recommend«Compass Rose Deli». Give it a try. Take in the scenery, say hello to Lynn and enjoy.

I got a roast beef sandwich with rye bread and I have to say it was good. Was quick service and the people working were friendly. Great view too if you choose to sit and eat here. The sandwich was certainly not anything exceptional. Limited menu options and an average sized sandwich, priced on the high end in my opinion at $ 8.95 for sandwich only. Probably won’t eat here again but I don’t regret eating here. CASHONLY establishment.

Best Roast Beef on Harbor Island period. Fat loads of roast beef, plenty of onions and tomatos. Just the way you want a deli sandwich to be after sailing all day. The staff is fast and friendly, and the location is right next to the pool. Highly recommend the homemade potato salad and chili too.

If there is one thing I hate it’s tiny«all bread» sandwiches. The sandwiches here are worth every penny. Truly a great deli with nice generous portions on fresh bread. Thankfully the menu is more reasonably priced than many of the other places on the island. The breakfast menu is great too.

This deli is fantastic. The people are fun and friendly and the food is consistently outstanding. I thought that there was no better sandwich than the chicken salad, but I was wrong. The roast beef with caramelized onions is even better. My 88 year old mother said the provolone cheese sandwich was the tastiest she’s EVER eaten. Such praise for a deli? Try it. You’ll see

This place happens to be located right next to the Harbor Island Yacht club and had a sign that said best sandwiches on the island so I said, bring it on!(Also, I didn’t feel like walking very far from the yacht club.) I had the chicken salad sandwich and I have to say it was one of the best CSSs I’ve ever had. Plenty of chicken balanced with creamy mayonnaise perfectly. What made this stand above the rest were the cranberries and roughly chopped nuts that gave it a sweet and salty crunch that was simply awesome! I don’t know about the rest of the menu, but the CSS was outstanding!!! Stay sexy fellow Unilocalers!
