Been there a couple times and I really like their seafood. It is really good and their chicken quesadillas are good too! The owner I believe is a very nice gentlemen and treats his customers great. Very attentive! Great customer service and food was very prompt. I’ll definitely go back!

Food wasn’t horrible. Lacked variety in flavor and what felt like lack of freshness. No music plays. The Hispanic cashier watched soccer(in Spanish) the entire time. The temperature of the restaurant was hot enough to sweat before my wife and I got our food. The carne asada burrito was basically meat cooked well done, and guacamole; that was it. Good if you’re looking for convenience. Not somewhere you’d take a date.

Tried this for the first time. First impressions: shop is clean and the person taking my order was friendly and efficient. Food was made relatively quickly. Ordered the cheese enchiladas and they were just ok. Probably wouldn’t order them again. The enchilada sauce appeared to be homemade but was on the sweeter side. I’m not a fan of sweet enchilada sauce. The beans were a bit oily, rice was good and fresh. The only salsa I liked was the Pico. Great taste and spicy! I’d say this place is average, nothing special but not bad.

Don’t get the California burrito. Meat is dry. Feels like a funeral inside. No music or tv playing for a while. I was here 5 months ago and it still the same. I asked the cashier when will they fix the tv? She gave me an attitude and said no idea. 11÷16÷15. 14:11

Standing here now while the owner is called for having eaten spoiled salsa that after a cup of it I realized it was fiizzy.(it’s spicy and I hardly ate today so I was scarfing) Then my daughter asked me about the chicken the tacos which was a majority super old and stuff and too beat to chew through. The owner hardly took responsibility and gave me 5 $ of my 14 spent back. Yuck.

I’ve had takeout from here a couple times and it’s decent, but not knock your socks off. The first time I had the carne asada plate, which comes with rice, beans and 4 tortillas(or at least if you order corn it does). The beans were very tasty, the rice was fine and the meat was ok. It was a good size portion of meat. The carnitas were not what I expected. I like them when they’re tender and slow roasted, like a pulled pork. But theirs are crispy, flavorless chunks. I might have been ok with the crispy part, but they were pretty bland. Luckily their spicy salsa is really good, so once I dumped a bunch of that on there and then the meat became a nice vessel for the salsa. I would never go out of my way to eat here, but it’s really convenient to work and it’s fast.

The food was alright. The girl at the counter had an attitude when I was nothing but nice to her. She barely said two words and acted as if I was an inconvenience. I would not go here again, especially with the abundance of Mexican food in the area.

Best al pastor and carnitas I have had. Could be the most underrated Mexican restaurant in San Diego

Food was average, would go to chili peppers instead. Customer service majorly lacking.

Great neighborhood restaurant, I’ve tried a few of their menu choices, but my favorite is the Carne Asada Burrito with Rice. The extra rice in the burrito just hits the spot.

Breakfast burrito was below average. Friendly staff but forgettable food. Hardly any cheese or bacon. Basically a few eggs wrapped in a tortilla.

Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Guess people are just hard asses. But IMO, they are over exaggerating. My boyfriend and I went one night and I’m assuming the owner(middle aged female) was inside chatting with either a customer or a friend. She was SUPER nice to us, not abrupt, rude or all that nonsense people put. Maybe it’s a different person now? She was pleasant, smiled, and took our order. We both ordered california burritos, mine with guacamole. Oddly enough, I always avoided this place bc I thought«Scripps ranch is too rich to have a ‘authentic taco shop’» While I’m a huge fan of MXN, my boyfriend is not. My mom lives in Scripps and when we were on the way to her house, he asked if there were any nearby taco shop. We found ourselves at Conseulos and I’m so glad we did!!! The burritos were sooo amazing. The meat was cooked wonderfully, and it wasn’t like all that dog food looking meat you see at other taco shops. You could tell it was good quality. The fries were the thin delicious ones. Mmmmmm. The only thing was that they put too much sour cream in them. But no biggie! We’ll ask for light sour cream next time. I got a horchata and he got a coke. Other than Sombreros, I don’t know of any other taco shop that don’t charge refills for speciality drinks like horchata, Jamaica, etc. No big deal, unless you’re a penny pincher. ;) We were the only ones in there, so the wait wasn’t long. Pleasant atmosphere, home made salsa, and the Mexican channel on the TV. Two other customers came in to pick up to go orders. We were gonna go tonight to get food but sadly they weren’t open! Wish someone would post their hours, that would be super helpful! We will definitely be back!

This place really isn’t as bad as many here say it is. The food is consistent for the most part. Granted they run out of things from time to time but all restaurants that make their food from scratch do. I truly think this area and the people it attracts prefer the Pace salsa you buy in a gallon jug. I’m not a fan of this type of Mexican food but many are. People complain about prices, paying for refills, size of salsa cups, get with the times. The cost of operating a business in California goes up every other month let alone operating a food business. When you go to Costco and the price of beef tenderloin is $ 22/lb compared to a year ago at $ 11/lb, the small food businesses pay close to retail because they don’t buy the volume. And if you want a smile from the staff, stop being so ignorant and maybe offer the kind gesture of giving the first smile. Look at what’s around and how these other places that actually serve bad food have 4+ star ratings…

Really surprised since I saw a Unilocal sticker outside this joint, I figured I’d give it a try. Man was I disappointed. I only went here because it was convenient but next time I just stick to getting something at Vons. This Mexican restaurant is conjoined with Zpizza. At first I thought I was walking into their store. A huge menu and kinda pricey. But I have to agree the customer service is lacking. I asked her what was on the rolled tacos. She says in an abrupt tone«lettuce, guacamole, cheese», no mention of tomatoes. Which, by the way, no me gusta! Not all taco shops put the same stuff on top of their tacos, thats why i asked. Then that’s what I order. She says in the most quietest voice something and I don’t respond. Then she asks again and I told her taking it to go. Almost $ 5 for rolled tacos and they were just meh! Will I return? No can dosville… baby doll

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for the past 5 years and I’ve never been disappointed, so I’m surprised to see it has an average of 3 stars at the time that I’m writing this review. I order a California Burrito nearly every time and the meat is always juicy and flavorful. They add an above average amount of fries(which I appreciate), and then cheese, sour cream, and I add guacamole(costs extra) for a perfect burrito. The menu is big so you have a lot to choose from, but I stick to the burritos. This is my favorite Mexican food place in Scripps Ranch.

Not impressed at all. High prices for marginal food. Skimpy salsa bar, expensive and limited drink selection(and charge for refills?!? What is this, 1995?). And you know it’s a bad sign when your 2nd check-in earns Duke status…

Worst carnitas burrito I’ve had from a non big chain mexican place. Meat was dry, in too big of chunks for a burrito and the burrito wasn’t mixed well. Avoid.

I second pretty much everything else that has been said recently. I won’t be returning. In addition to the other issues discussed, these guys boast the stingiest salsa bar cup sizes in the business. I have been wanting to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but«no mas.»

I live a block from this place but the customer service is SOBAD, I drive north two exits to Sombreros for my carne asada burritos. There is a young guy and a young girl who answer the phone and they’re as miserable in person as they are when you call in your order. The meat is a bit gamey tasting too. Surprised they’ve stayed in business. Come on, Scripps Ranch. We deserve better than this!

Nooot my favorite mexican food fix. There’s no AC so avoid coming when it’s hot. There’s no restroom. There a no limes, no seasoning on the meat, they charge for refills… refills people. I haven’t seen that in a while. .75 cents actually. There’s no music. The employee may as well have been a robot… that has one volume setting: Quiet As A Mouse. Carnitas is sooo dry. This is a place for the dining dead. I give it 1 stars because it’s clean and 1 because I feel bad.
